Hundreds of gay rights activists were told to 'go to hell' by religious hardliners demonstrating against a Sydney Mardi Gras rally ahead of Saturday night's parade.

LGBTQIA+ campaigners gathered at Taylor Square on Sydney's Oxford Street just after midday to protest against the federal government's religious discrimination bill.

The group also called for the decriminalisation of sex work in all states, an end to mandatory detention and leave for workers who are transitioning.

The Man Who Sold Ukraine

Volodymyr Zelensky is the current President of Ukraine. He was elected in a landslide victory in 2019 on the promise of easing tensions with Russia and resolving the crisis in the breakaway republics in east Ukraine. He has made no attempt to keep his word on either issue. Instead, he has greatly exacerbated Ukraine’s internal crisis while relentlessly provoking Russia. Zelensky has had numerous opportunities to smooth things over​ with Moscow and prevent the outbreak of hostilities. Instead, he has consistently made matters worse by blindly following Washington’s directives.

Zelensky has been lionized in the west and praised for his personal bravery. But—as a practical matter—he has failed to restore national unity or implement the crucial peace accord that is the only path to reconciliation. The Ukrainian president doesn’t like the so-called Minsk Protocol and has refused to meet its basic requirements. As a result, the ethnically-charged, fratricidal war that has engulfed Ukraine for the last 8 years, continues to this day with no end in sight. President Vladimir Putin referred to Zelensky’s obstinance in a recent speech delivered at the Kremlin. He said:

“At yesterday’s event… the Ukrainian leadership publicly declared that they were not going to abide by these agreements. Not going to abide by them. Well, what else can you say about that?” (Vladimir Putin)

Most Americans fail to realize that Zelensky’s rejection of Minsk was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Russian officials had worked for 8 years on Minsk hammering out terms that would be agreeable to all parties. Then—at the eleventh hour—Zelensky put the kibosh on the deal with a wave of the hand. Why? Who told Zelensky to scrap the agreement? Washington?

Of course.

And why did Zelensky deploy 60,000 combat troops to the area just beyond the Line of Contact (in east Ukraine) where they could lob mortal shells into the towns and villages of the ethnic Russians who lived there? Clearly, the message this sent to the people was that an invasion was imminent and that they should either flee their homes immediately or take shelter in their cellars. What objective did Zelensky hope to achieve by forcing these people to huddle in their homes in fear for their lives? And what message did he intend to send to Moscow whose leaders looked on at these developments in absolute horror?

Did he know his actions would set off alarms in Russia forcing Putin to call up his military and prepare them for a possible invasion to protect his people from– what looked to be– a massive ethnic cleansing operation?

He did.

So, how are these actions consistent with Zelensky’s campaign promises to restore national unity and peacefully resolve Ukraine’s issues with Russia?

Biden Asks for Billions for COVID to Give to Ukraine Ignoring One of His Last Billion Dollar Transactions in Ukraine

In 2015, Ukrainian prosecutor Victor Shokin was looking into Burisma, an oil and gas company where Hunter Biden was on the Board. Joe Biden later bragged how he got Shokin stopped from further investigating Hunter and Burisma. Biden withheld a billion in aid to get Shokin fired and he bragged about it.

The White House is warning that the U.S. will soon begin to run out of money for COVID-19 supplies unless Congress acts to approve more funding.

Officials say more money is needed for antibody treatments, preventative pills and to fund testing sites.

“From the COVID side, the bank account is empty,” COVID-19 deputy coordinator Natalie Quillian said. “We’re in conversations with lawmakers about how to secure the funding, but it’s urgently needed.” Some of the consequences could be felt later this month.

“This is an urgent request and this is what is at stake in our fight against COVID,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday.

A request sent to Congress from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) seeks $22.5 billion in immediate COVID-19 response needs with an ask for $10 billion to provide support to Ukraine following Russia’s invasion.

Giving Biden one tax dollar for him to give to Ukraine is not a good idea. It’s a bad idea, a very bad idea.

Convoy Of Truckers Arrive At Final Staging Area Before Push To D.C. Region

At least 1,000 'freedom convoy' vehicles converged at a speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland, on Friday night and through Saturday morning into the afternoon as some made the 2,500-mile journey from Southern California, according to WaPo. The convoy is at a staging area where their next move could be Washington, D.C., to protest the COVID-19 vaccine and other public health mandates.

NBC4 Washington reports the convoy is planning to drive onto the Capital Beltway on Saturday, but a convoy spokesperson said they'll stay in Hagerstown for another night.

Organizers of the convoy told The Epoch Times that the group has adjusted its plans and are no longer aiming to arrive in Washington on Saturday as previously reported. Rather, they will be staying in Hagerstown, Maryland—about 70 miles northwest of Washington—for Saturday, and will be headed to an unspecified location two miles from the D.C. Beltway area either on Sunday or Monday.

Numbers in the convoy have fluctuated as vehicles and trucks join and drop off along the way. It’s unclear how many vehicles will be headed to the nation’s capital.

One of the organizers, Mike Landis, said he will be driving to Washington. He pointed to a symbolic U.S. flag that had been gifted to him by the grandson of a fallen soldier killed during WWII.

“In Oklahoma, his grandson drove from Texas to give it to me because his mother said that this is the first thing that reminds her of freedom since WWII and they wanted it to fly behind the lead truck,” he told a rally in Hagerstown on Friday.

“I can tell you one thing right now. The government can claim that they have all this opposition for us waiting in D.C. but that flag on the back of my truck will go down Constitution Avenue between the White House and the Washington Monument before this is over.”

Netflix succeeds in getting ‘Cuties’ child-porn lawsuit put on hold until June

Company is appealing to federal government to halt suit.

Streaming company Netflix has successfully fended off –albeit temporarily – a Texas effort to bring child pornography charges against the company over its distribution of a controversial film some critics have derided as a form of child pornography.

The company in summer 2020 released the film “Cuties,” a French drama that features 11-year-old girls competing in a highly sexualized dance competition. Netflix received sharp criticism for its promotion of the film, including its content and marketing, which featured a highly sexualized poster of the young girls.

In Texas, Tyler County District Attorney Lucas Babin has brought child pornography charges against the streaming giant over the film. Netflix has asked the federal government to throw out Babin’s lawsuit, claiming its promotion of the film is protected under the First Amendment.

This week, Babin and Netflix agreed to put the suit on hold until June.

Babin’s lawsuit argues that Netflix promoted lewd material of a young child and that the film has "no serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."
