There's a simple reason. Same one that means you can never see a full moon.
Unless the Satellite was directly between the Earth and the Sun, there would be shadow where the sun's light doesn't reach.
That and the Satellite would need to be waaaaaaaaaaaay far away to fit the Earth in a single shot.
