The executive order signed Thursdayincludes a call for Colorado’s governmental agencies and citizenry torespond with condemnationto the ongoing crisis in Eastern Europe, where Russia appears to be attempting to reclaim territory lost during the collapse of the former Soviet Union through the use of invasion tactics not seen in Europe since World War II.

The aggressing nation and its citizens, guided by Vladamir Putin, are now the target of various sanctions imposed by Polis, President Joe Biden and other European leaders. Additionally, the Coloradan leader is pushing to get Russian financial influence out of the state.

“I call on all Coloradans to support their Ukrainian neighbors, donate to organizations supporting Ukrainian humanitarian efforts, and to support any Ukrainian refugees that come to Colorado as a result of this conflict,” Polis said.

Whitmer issues executive directive to speed up Michigan pothole repairsLANSING — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who campaigned in 2018 on a promise to "fix the damn roads," told the state roads agency Wednesday to pull out all stops to quickly address Michigan's pothole problem.

That includes paying overtime, hiring more contractors and speeding payments to local road agencies, Whitmer said in a news release after issuing an executive directive to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

"We're kicking this into overdrive," said Whitmer, who faces reelection in November.

“Dealing with car damage from driving over potholes while on your way to work or school is frustrating for every Michigander. No family should have to spend their hard-earned money on repairing a flat tire or a broken axle caused by these potholes. That’s why I’m directing the state transportation department to speed up pothole repairs."

Airbnb waived all fees for bookings in Ukraine, and the company said late Friday that "guests" who aren't actually planning to go to Ukraine had spent more than $2 million in the country in just the last few days.

In 48 hours, 61,406 nights have been booked in Ukraine. That's $1.9M going to Hosts in need

One of the great things about being a creator is that sometimes other people are inspired by your work, and they use it to solve problems you never imagined.

Case in point: the thousands of people all over the world who wanted to find a way to give money to individual Ukrainians last week, in the wake of the Russian invasion.

The solution they came up with was to book Airbnb rentals in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and other Ukrainian cities, and then to message the hosts that they wouldn't be coming, but that the hosts should keep the money.

"Such a cool idea from our community," Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky wrote on Twitter. "Thank you."
