The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) shot and killed during the detention a member of the Ukrainian negotiating team Denis Kireyev. He was suspected of high treason, reported Ukrayinska Pravda and several Ukrainian media outlets, citing representatives of the security forces and politicians.
According to Ukrayinska Pravda, the SBU had solid proof of Kireyev's treason, including recordings of telephone conversations. Kireyev participated in the first round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. Kireyev reportedly had "free access to the office of the SBU head,Ivan Bakanov, and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov".
According to UNIAN, Denis Kireyev in different years held senior positions in SKM Finance, the Austrian company Group SLAV AG, Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, as well as private equity Fund and Fixed Income Fund.
How Kireyev ended up in the Ukrainian delegation and what he was responsible for is unknown, Ukrayinska Pravda points out.

''Ukrainian-born oligarch Mikhail Watford was found hanged in one of the United Kingdom’s largest estates Monday.''
Watford, 66, an oil and gas tycoon, was found dead in his home in unexplained but not suspicious circumstances, according to British law enforcement, The Guardian reported. Authorities were called to Watford’s home after his body was discovered at his Wentworth estate in Virginia Water, Surrey, by a gardener Monday, according to The Sun.
Though The Sun reported that Watford is Russian, he was born in Ukraine in 1955 before the fall of the Soviet Union, according to the Guardian. He was born Mikhail Tolstosheya and anglicized his last name when he moved to the United Kingdom in the 2000s, the outlet noted.
He is survived by three children and his Estonian wife, Jane, according to reports.
