This is a worldwide threat.
Just one example
I worked extensively with the company teradek and their broadcasting and streaming hardware.
They really do make the best stuff, and every single tv station and film studio uses their gear, exclusively.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gear on a large film or in a tv studio.
We were constantly calling with tech feedback and helped them build out new platforms and refine software.
There was always some bug to squish.
The guys stateside took notes and then conveyed those notes to their tech guys in Ukraine and/or Russia to implement.
We often had to wait for fixes because of the timezone difference.
You may not care if hollywood shuts down, who would? I just happen to know about that industry.
But, who writes the software for every other fucking thing that makes our country run?
A lot of it is Russia and Ukraine.
Russian and Ukrainian tech support is a MASSIVE global problem that is about to smack everyone in the nose, just sayin.
And that's WITHOUT malintent. Imagine if they intentionally started introducing bugs? Fuck.
