Seattle Woman Sentenced to Five Years in Prison For Torching Police Cars During BLM Riot

A Seattle woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for torching police vehicles during a Black Lives Matter riot in 2020.

Margaret Aislinn Channon, 26, pleaded guilty to arson for using aerosol cans as a blowtorch to light the cars on fire. She also broke windows, looted stores, and smashed police equipment.

Much of Channon’s destruction was captured on video.

“According to the plea agreement, Channon appears in videos from the protest in downtown Seattle wearing distinctive clothing and showing tattoos on her hands and arms. Channon is captured on video using fire and aerosol cans to light five Seattle Police Department vehicles on fire,” the Department of Justice said in a press release. “She is also shown entering various stores and removing items of clothing. She admits smashing the window at the Verizon Store, and entering a sandwich shop and destroying the electronic cash register. Investigators identified Channon based on her clothing, tattoos, and information from her various social media accounts.”

Channon was arrested in June, 2020. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at her home in Tacoma and seized clothing and accessories that appear in some of the videos from the arsons.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Channon is responsible for restitution.

During her sentencing, the judge criticized Channon for making the Black Lives Matter movement look bad, saying she did “tremendous damage to Black Lives Matter in Seattle.”

“The right to protest, gather, and call out injustices is one of the dearest and most important rights we enjoy in the United States,” said U.S. Attorney Nick Brown, according to a report from the Seattle Times. “Indeed, our democracy depends on both exercising and protecting these rights. But Ms. Channon’s conduct was itself an attack on democracy.”

Brown said Channon “used the cover of lawful protests to carry out dangerous and destructive acts, risking the safety of everyone around her and undermining the important messages voiced by others.”

The prosecution had argued that Channon put everyone in danger, as one of the cars could have exploded.

“Hundreds of people were standing in the vicinity of the police cars that Channon burned, some only a few feet away,” wrote Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Greenberg. “All of them were in harm’s way if one of the vehicles had exploded.”

Nikki Haley, former United Nations ambassador for the U.S., slammed President Joe Biden's leadership in the Ukraine conflict on Sunday and said it's 'absolute lunacy' the country continues to buy Russian oil after Vladimir Putin launched an invasion last month.

In an interview with FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures, Haley said the United States never should have trusted Russia or Putin.

'This all happened because of us,' the former South Carolina governor said.

'This happened from the way the U.S. left Afghanistan,' she explained, saying the U.S. abandoned its allies.

'This happened when Biden waived Nord Stream 2, which President Trump fought,' Haley continued, referring to a Russian-owned pipeline that spans Europe.

'This happened by falling all over himself by getting the Iran deal,' she added.

'Now, we need strength and deterrence and we're not getting it.'

Instead, she said, it is time for the president to 'stop reacting and start leading.'

Robert Kraft engaged to Dana Blumberg, Tommy Hilfiger reveals at amfAR gala

Robert Kraft has six Super Bowl rings, and recently gave his girlfriend, Dr. Dana Blumberg, an engagement ring as big as one of the championship baubles, we hear.

Saturday’s inaugural amfAR Gala Palm Beach event honored fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger, who shared from the stage that Kraft and Blumberg got engaged.

We hear that the pair have been engaged for a couple weeks, but Hilfiger unexpectedly announced the news at the gala.

“Tommy Hilfiger was the honoree and Robert and Dana were both chairs of the event for Tommy,” a source said. “[Hilfiger] said his ‘good friend Bob Kraft got engaged to Dr. Dana Blumberg’ at the event on stage, speaking to the whole audience.”

Another source told Page Six that attendees noticed that Blumberg was wearing “a giant rock” at the gala.

The astonished source said: “It looked like it was 10-carats or more… It was as big as some of Bob’s Super Bowl rings.”

The gala at the home of top art collectors Amy and John Phelan featured performances by Christina Aguilera and Parson James, plus an auction by Simon de Pury.

Guests like supermodel Karolina Kurková were in attendance, while chairs of the Palm Beach event included the Phelans, Dee Hilfiger, Omeed and Caroline Malik, Nancy C. Rogers and Stephen and Christine Schwarzman.

Kraft and Blumberg have been dating since 2019, when they were 78 and 45, respectively. They were first seen holding hands in June of 2019 at the French Open, and were together again a month later in Paris at the Women’s World Cup soccer finals.

The Patriots owner and Blumberg attended the annual Apollo in the Hamptons bash at Ronald Perelman’s estate later that summer, alongside guests like Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Bon Jovi, Jamie Foxx and Spike Lee.

Prime Minister Imran Khan lashed out at foreign diplomats who pressured Pakistan to join a UN resolution condemning Russia over its military attack on Ukraine, accusing the envoys of treating Pakistan like “slaves.”

At a rally on Sunday, Khan shot back at a March 1 letter from diplomats representing 22 missions, including countries in the European Union along with Japan, Switzerland, Canada, the UK, and Australia, which called on Pakistan to drop its neutrality and join them in condemning Moscow.

“What do you think of us? Are we your slaves… that whatever you say, we will do?” questioned Khan, before asking EU ambassadors whether they wrote “such a letter to India,” which also remains neutral.

Bennett found Putin to be ‘rational’ during meeting — report

Russian officials said to know where Zelensky hiding, but refraining from attacking him; US reportedly worried Putin using Bennett to improve his image

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett reportedly came away from his meeting with Vladimir Putin with the impression that the Russian president was in a rational state of mind, bucking Western assessments that he may have become unhinged.

A source close to Bennett was quoted by Channel 13 news Sunday night as saying that Putin was “not conspiracy theorizing or irrational, nor is he suffering from rage attacks.”

On Saturday, Bennett flew to Moscow to meet with Putin, becoming the first Western leader to sit down with the Russian leader since he invaded Ukraine on February 24. After spending three hours with Putin, Bennett flew straight to Berlin and met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, just days after the pair had met in Jerusalem.

Few details were provided on the content of either meeting.

Hours after returning, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Israel had a moral obligation to work to broker peace talks between Russia and Ukraine — even if the likelihood for progress was slim. “I returned from Moscow and Berlin a few hours ago,” Bennett said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday. “I went there to assist the dialogue between all of the sides, of course with the blessing and encouragement of all players.”

“We will continue to assist as needed,” Bennett said at the cabinet meeting. “Even if the chance is not great — as soon as there is even a small opening, and we have access to all sides and the capability — I see this as our moral obligation to make every effort.”

Later Sunday, Bennett spoke again with Putin, as well as with Scholz and with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Capitol Police issues emergency declaration over trucker convoy

The Capitol Police Board on Sunday issued an emergency declaration as truck drivers protesting COVID-19 policies gather in the D.C. area, according to reports.

The protests, which began Sunday and slowed traffic outside the capital, have been dubbed the “People’s Convoy” and could last several days.

The emergency declaration allows police to ask for help from the National Guard in addition to permitting payment for officers' hotel and food costs, according to Bloomberg.

CNN reported that the declaration was announced by House Sergeant at Arms William Walker.

"The Capitol Police Board has issued an emergency declaration to ensure that the US Capitol police are able to operate and respond as necessary," Walker wrote in a letter, advising Congress members and their staffers to take an alternate path via public transit to work or to consider working remotely, CNN reported.

Sunday's protests included the truckers driving around the Beltway for over four hours and the activity is expected to resume on Monday, The Washington Post noted.

Capitol Police leaders have reportedly voiced concerns about the truckers and other vehicles potentially causing shutdowns of various roads and highways and creating a situation similar to the Freedom Convoy that shut down parts of Canadian capital Ottawa over similar concerns.

“Constitutionally Illegal”: Oregon Legislature Passes Bill Declaring “Racism” a “Public Health Crisis;” Measure Will Allocate Millions of Dollars to “Serve Specific Populations Based on Race”

Racism is now officially considered a “public health crisis” in the state of Oregon.

This week, both the Oregon House of Representatives and Senate voted to pass HB 4052, which declares “racism” as a “public health crisis” and will allocate millions of dollars in taxpayer funding to specific populations based solely on their race.

In other words, the bill aims to combat health inequities by, effectively, enshrining racism into state law. It explicitly excludes whites from the program entirely.

From the Oregon state website’s overview of the bill:

“[HB 4052] Requires Oregon Health Authority, guided by advisory committee to be convened by authority, to provide grants to operate two culturally and linguistically specific mobile health units, as pilot program, to improve health outcomes of Oregonians impacted by racism…

…to develop recommendations on how to fund robust culturally and linguistically specific intervention programs designed to prevent or intervene in health conditions that result in inequitable and negative outcomes for individuals who are Black or indigenous, people of color and members of tribes.”

However, there is a small carve out that could allow for some whites to be allowed into the program if they identify as a member of the LGBTQ community – because that somehow has to do with “racism” – but there is a qualifier that they have to be negatively affected either directly or indirectly by racism, so maybe they just have to claim to have a Rachel Dolezal-style transracial situation going on to gain eligibility.

Individuals who will be eligible for the program were listed in the text of the bill as follows:

“’Communities of color’ means members of the following racial or ethnic communities:

(A) American Indian

(B) Alaska Native

(C) Hispanic or Latino

(D) Asian

(E) Native Hawaiian

(F) Pacific Islander

(G) Black or African American

(H) Middle Eastern

(I) North African

(J) Mixed race; or

(K) Other racial or ethnic minorities.

‘Priority populations’ means groups that disproportionately experience avoidable illness, death or other poor health or social outcomes attributable directly or indirectly to racism, including:

(A) Communities of color

(B) Oregon’s nine federally recognized tribes and the descendants of the members of the tribes

(C) Immigrants

(D) Refugees

(E) Migrant and seasonal farmworkers

(F) Low-income individuals and families

(G) Persons with disabilities; and

(H) Individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer or who question their sexual or gender identity.”

The measure is likely “constitutionally illegal” because of the race-based qualifications, according to State Representative Anna Scharf, who voted against its passing.

She explained her decision in a letter published last week:

“[HB 4052] allocates almost $2 million to this program which will only serve specific populations based on race and ethnicity. it does nothing to address health inequities of all people, just specific ethnic groups, and may even be constitutionally illegal. Therefore, I voted no.”

Unfortunately, Scharf and the few others who voted against the measure were unable to stop it from being green-lit.

After passing through the democrat-controlled legislature with ease, the unconstitutional bill is set to head to radical progressive governor Kate Brown to be signed into law, which is expected sometime this coming week.
