INTERFERENCE: Freeland’s office “pressured” legacy media to change critical stories

https://tnc.news/2022/03/15/interference-freelands-office-pressured-legacy-media-to-change-critical-stories/

The legacy media in Canada is every bit as dishonest and corrupted as you and I suspect. Last month when True North broke the story of Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland holding a Nazi banner at a Ukrainian rally in Toronto, a handful of legacy media reporters picked up our scoop.

Most wrote their stories according to Freelend’s Liberal spin – that Freeland had done nothing wrong, the any critics of the Liberals were spreading “Russian disinformation” and that True North’s journalists were to blame for writing this story.

So much for holding a powerful politician accountable for her reckless actions.

The legacy media didn’t even bother to point out the hypocrisy given that the Liberals accused the Conservatives of “standing with those who wave Swastikas” at the Trucker rally.

One rare and honest legacy media story came from iPolitics, who accurately recounted the events and blamed Freeland for her blunder.

Interestingly, a few hours later, iPolitics issued a “correction” and changed the tone of the story to reflect the legacy media groupthink. Blame should not be aimed at the powerful woman holding the Nazi banner, it should be aimed at those talking about it!

True North has learned that the “correction” was issued after interference from Freeland’s office – who “pressured” iPolitics to change the story.

The Liberals said “jump”, the legacy media ask “how high?”

This caused the reporter who wrote the original story, Rachel Emmanuel, to resign out of principle. She now writes for the independent outlet the Western Standard, and she wrote an opinion column describing the ordeal.

Today on the Candice Malcolm Show, Candice is joined by Rachel Emmanuel, who recounts the story and talks about the fundamental problems facing the media and why trust in journalists is at an all time low.

Economists predict inflation in Canada about to reach 30-year high

https://tnc.news/2022/03/16/economists-predict-inflation-in-canada-about-to-reach-30-year-high/

Ahead of Statistic Canada’s monthly consumer price index report, economists are warning Canadians that things are about to get even more expensive if inflation levels show an anticipated 30-year-high.

“The list of factors driving inflation is so long that it’s easier to name the few things that aren’t escalating. Relative to last year, there aren’t many categories where prices look tame,” CIBC chief economist Avery Shenfeld told the Toronto Star.

Prices are expected to rise anywhere between 5.5% and 6% compared to last year, slightly higher than January’s spike of 5.1%.

Several regions throughout Canada saw fuel at the pumps reach an all-time high as the conflict in Ukraine and sanctions on Russia placed a strain on the industry. In March, gas in Metro Vancouver surpassed $2 per litre, while gas in Toronto reached $1.67 per litre.

Grocery prices have also surged, and industry groups have warned that the high costs of transportation and fertilizer will mean that farmers will have to pass the difference onto consumers.

Trucking and cross-border vaccine mandates are also an issue according to Quinton Woods, Chair of the Trade and Marketing Working Group at the Canadian Horticultural Council (CHC)

“One of the most important challenges—and very timely, based on recent events—is the availability of trucks and truck drivers,” said Woods. ”These shortages were there before the COVID-19 pandemic, but the introduction of the new border measures further reduced the supply of available truck drivers to haul our goods across international borders.”

Additionally, the price of common ingredients used by food companies has spiked by 80% in the last year according to Carla Ventin, Senior Vice-President of Government Relations at Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada.

“The cost of commonly used ingredients for food companies has increased up to 80% in the past year,” Ventin told the Commons agriculture committee on March 3.

Without gas and food costs, the index is still 3.5% which BMO economist Douglas Porter called the highest Canadians have seen in decades.

“That figure doesn’t sound too high, compared to everything else, but historically speaking 3.5% is still one of the highest growth rates we’ve seen in decades,” said Porter.

Russia blacklists Trudeau, 312 other Canadian officials

https://www.rebelnews.com/russia_blacklists_trudeau_312_other_canadian_officials

News of the sanctions came hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Parliament on Tuesday.

The Russian government has officially blacklisted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, along with 312 other Canadian officials, banning them from entry into the country. The move to ban Canadian politicians follows Canada’s sanctions on Russia in response to the conflict in Ukraine.

The Russian government on Tuesday accused the Canadian government of “Russophobic rage.” Explaining why Canadian officials are no longer welcome in the Eurasian country, Russia stated:

The “black list” of persons prohibited from entering the Russian Federation includes Prime Minister J. Trudeau, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and National Defense M. Joli and A. Anand. Most of the deputies of the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament and aggressive pro-Bander elements are also among those banned.

This step is forced and taken in response to the outrageous hostility of the current Canadian regime, which has tested our patience for so long. Every Russophobic attack, be it attacks on Russian diplomatic missions, airspace closures, or Ottawa’s actual severing of bilateral economic ties to the detriment of Canadian interests, will inevitably receive a decisive and not necessarily symmetrical rebuff.

News of the sanctions came hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Parliament on Tuesday, where he urged Canadian officials to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine to defend it from Russian planes. Continue…

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky makes emotional plea for help in live address to Canadian Parliament

https://www.rebelnews.com/ukrainian_president_volodymyr_zelensky_makes_emotional_plea_for_help_in_live_address_to_canadian_parliament

Addressing the Canadians over a video call, Zelensky asked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to place a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an emotional appeal to Canadian politicians on Tuesday asking them to imagine bombs landing in their communities. Zelensky urged the Canadian parliament and Trudeau’s government to exert greater economic and military pressure on Russia.

Addressing the Canadians over a video call, Zelensky asked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to place a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

“Justin, can you imagine you and your children hearing all these severe explosions, the bombing of the airport, the bombing of the Ottawa airport?” Zelensky said. “Cruise missiles are falling down and your children are asking you What happened?'”

Zelensky claimed to the House of Commons chamber that Putin’s aggression towards his country is ultimately designed to annihilate Ukraine and enslave its people.

“Dear Justin, dear guests, can you imagine that every day you receive memorandums about the number of casualties, including women and children?” he said. “You heard about the bombings. Currently, we have 97 children that died during this war.”

“Can you imagine if the famous CN Tower in Toronto was hit by Russian bombs?” he said. “This is our reality.” Continue…

Indian government working on direct method of trade with Russia, bypassing need for the U.S. dollar

https://www.rebelnews.com/indian_government_working_on_direct_method_of_trade_with_russia_bypassing_need_for_the_us_dollar

Russia has told the country that it is looking for alternative suppliers for a wide range of goods after its access to western markets was cut off by the sanctions imposed by the United States and its allies in the European Union.

The Indian government in New Delhi is developing the means to facilitate direct trade with Russia using the local currencies of the two countries, foregoing any use of the U.S. dollar.

According to the Times of India, a decision by the Indian government is expected as early as next week as the government is in consultation with the nation’s banks on how trade can be settled using rubles and rupees due to international sanctions imposed by the U.S. government on Russian trade.

The publication reports that Indian exporters are awaiting payments of about $500 million that were delayed due to sanctions on Russian banks.

Under the mechanism proposed by the Indian government, the ruble could be deposited into an Indian bank after being converted into rupee, and vice versa. There remain concerns on how to peg the currencies and ways to balance the trade as India is a net importer of Russian products, including military equipment.

Russia has told the country that it is looking for alternative suppliers for a wide range of goods after its access to western markets was cut off by the sanctions imposed by the United States and its allies in the European Union.

“New Delhi is preparing a list of items it can export to Russia to narrow the about $5 billion trade deficit it runs currently, while considering making payments for crude oil in rupee,” the Times of India reported. “India wants a floating exchange rate, instead of a fixed one used by the two nations three decades ago, given the ruble has crashed in recent weeks.”

Bilateral trade between Russia and India stand at $10.8 billion, with both countries discussing the possibility of expanding India’s import of Russian oil.

Financial restrictions on Russian banks, prompted by the conflict in Ukraine, have caused massive disruptions in supply chains, driving up the price of commodities in developing nations like India.

Several supporters gathered at the Bordeaux prison in support of François Amalega, where he is currently incarcerated, to light candles for him. Many of them are overwhelmed by the events happening to Amalega.

The Freedom Convoy, and now the war between Ukraine and Russia, have monopolized people’s attention. Despite this, for most of society, life goes on.

In this storm of events, we forgot to mention that François Amalega, the freedom fighter from Quebec, is still in prison, and has been for nearly six weeks now.

On Wednesday, February 2, Mr. Amalega appeared at the Montreal courthouse to answer a charge of failing to comply with conditions that prohibited him from “entering within 300 metres” of Premier François Legault. He was charged for this when he had a demonstration in front of the Radio-Canada building while Mr. Legault was there for the recording of the famous talk-show “Tout le monde en parle”.

Here is an update on François Amalega's story and his multiple trials. Continue…

Pfizer CEO backpedals on usage of mRNA technology in COVID vaccines

https://www.rebelnews.com/pfizer_ceo_backpedals_on_usage_of_mrna_technology_in_covid_vaccines

CEO Albert Bourla told the Washington Post that Pfizer's decision to use an mRNA vaccine was 'counter intuitive' despite previously touting the technology's adaptability in dealing with new COVID variants.

Last Thursday, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla backpedaled on his support for the corporation's usage of an mRNA vaccine for COVID-19 and is now calling it counter intuitive.

During an exclusive live interview with the Washington Post, host Johnathan Capehart asked Bourla about the company's decision to choose an mRNA vaccine instead of a more traditional one.

Bourla said the decision to do so “was counter intuitive because Pfizer was mastering — or let’s say we had very good experience and expertise with multiple technologies that could give a vaccine, and the Novartis that some of the vaccines are, we were very good in doing that. Protein vaccines, we were very good in doing that and plus many other technologies.”

Adding that Pfizer had less experience with mRNA technology, having only worked on it for two years, and that “mRNA was a technology that never delivered a single product until that day, not vaccine, not any other medicine. So it was very counterintuitive.”

In the interview Bourla further distanced himself from the technology by saying he “was surprised when they suggested” to go this route with the product's development, and questioned the justification for using mRNA technology, but ultimately said the company was “very, very convinced that this is the right way to go.”

The CEO is now singing quite a different tune about the Pfizer mRNA vaccine now that it has been injected into millions of arms multiple times across the world.

For example, in April of last year Bourla stated that “because of the effectiveness of this mRNA technology” in the vaccine the corporation had “developed a process that once a variant becomes a variant of concern, we should be able to have a new vaccine within 100 days.”

At Rebel News, we didn’t wait for big Pharma CEO Bourla to publicly relay concerns about rushing out mRNA vaccines a couple of weeks after the Food and Drug Administration reluctantly released a shocking 55,000 pages on Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine safety data.

Instead, we brought you in-depth interviews with highly-credentialed and highly-censored scientists such as viral immunologist and vaccinologist Dr. Byram Bridle and microbiologist Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi, who risked their careers to raise such concerns early on during life with COVID-19.

Leftist Reaction to Zelensky’s Speech: ‘Let’s Go to War with Russia!’

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/03/leftist-reaction-zelenskys-speach-go-war-russia/

Zelensky attempted to grab the ear of Americans by comparing the situation in Ukraine with Pearl Harbor and 9-11. It’s a sad situation in Ukraine but will the US risk a nuclear war?

Axios tweeted Zelensky’s speech and his mention of Pearl Harbor and 9-11:

The far-left Atlantic Council added their support for US engaging in war with Russia.

And another piece from the Atlantic Council.

The Atlantic Council is pushing the US to get involved in the war.

The left wants the US in a war.

Of course, Joe Walsh is all for getting the US involved in the conflict by suggesting that the US invading Iraq was bad.

It’s a sad situation in Ukraine. The people there are beautiful. They have no chance without outside support. If the US gets involved you’ll have two nuclear powers going at it.

Hillary Clinton Responds to Russia Sanctions

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/03/hillary-clinton-responds-russia-sanctions/

The UK, US and EU on Tuesday expanded economic and personal sanctions on Russian goods and “key oligarchs.”

Russia responded to the new sanctions by announcing personal sanctions against Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and others

Hillary Clinton responded to the sanctions: “I want to thank the Russian Academy for this Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Bill and Hillary Clinton made MILLIONS off of foreign governments after leaving the White House in 2000 (read Peter Schweizer’s Clinton Cash for the full, untold story).

All Russian roads lead to Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State at the same time the State Department and government agencies on the Committee on Foreign Investments UNANIMOUSLY approved the partial sale of Canadian mining company Uranium One to the Russian nuclear company Rosatom, ultimately giving Russia 20% of U.S. Uranium.

Nine shareholders in Uranium One just happened to provide more than $145 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation in the run-up to State Department approval.

The Clintons took the cash from Uranium One officials before the deal was approved by Hillary Clinton’s State Department. The Clintons hid the donations which is a clear violation of the Memorandum of Understanding Hillary Clinton signed with the Obama administration wherein she promised and agreed to publicly disclose all donations during her tenure as Secretary of State.

The Bidens were also paid millions of dollars from Russians.

Hunter Biden was paid $3.5 million from the former mayor of Moscow’s wife.

“Perhaps that’s why Biden has been so “slow on the draw” with Russia. This is a really bad conflict of interest that will, perhaps now, be fully and finally revealed!” Trump said on Tuesday in response to Russia’s personal sanctions against Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton.

Canadian province to roll out digital ID program that will ‘enable’ workers to compete in ‘global’ economy

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/canadian-province-to-roll-out-digital-id-program-that-will-enable-workers-to-compete-in-global-economy/

'This made-for-Canada framework enables the development of an adaptable infrastructure that will make the Canadian digital ID ecosystem more resilient to future crises.'

Under Premier Scott Moe, Saskatchewan has become one of the leading provinces in Canada seeking to adopt a nationally-regulated digital identification system. Saskatchewan has been enrolled in the Digital ID and Authentication Council of Canada (DIACC) since early 2020.

According to the DIACC website, “Saskatchewan joined the DIACC because we recognize that if we are going to realize the potential of digital ID, we need to define and govern digital identity nationally, with private and public sector collaboration.”

According to the DIACC mission statement, “The vision of the Saskatchewan Public Service is to be the best public service in Canada. We support Saskatchewan’s vision: to be the best place in Canada — to live, to work, to start a business, to get an education, to raise a family and to build a life,” adding that the organization is “dedicated to service excellence, innovation, collaboration and transparency” and will “practice effective and accountable use of resources.”

With the goal of using a “digital identity” to “transform the Canadian and global economy,” the program explains that “[b]y allowing citizens and businesses to more easily and conveniently access services any time from any internet-connected device, digital identity promotes efficiency for Canadians and will further position Saskatchewan and Canada to other markets as being more attractive to work with.”

“Our country’s collective work, across the public and private sectors, is defining and governing digital identity in a standards based way,” the DIACC explains. “This will position us well to other markets as a country to work with, and our collective commitment to make digital identity easy to use will encourage uptake of the digital identities across the country.”

The council also says that the digital ID will “enable Canadians” to “participate in the global digital economy,” while further outlining that the program has the stated goal of becoming “ubiquitous.”

According to an April 2021 post by DIACC president Joni Brennan, “Setting up a digital ID regime could provide a boost to post-pandemic recovery,” adding that in order for the “digital ID ecosystem” to be successful,” a “trust framework” is needed.

The DIACC boasts that they have “spearheaded the ‘Pan-Canadian Trust Framework,’ an international collaborative approach to modernizing digital service delivery that’s recognized by the World Economic Forum and others.”

“This made-for-Canada framework enables the development of an adaptable infrastructure that will make the Canadian digital ID ecosystem more resilient to future crises,” explains Brennan.

Saskatchewan is not the only province seeking to push a digital ID on the public. Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick are all listed on the site as members.

In addition, major banks, Canada’s postal service, and large telecommunication networks such as TELUS, are listed. The Canadian Bankers Association has already openly talked about the need for Canada’s financial institutions, under the guidance of the World Economic Forum (WEF), to push for adoption of the digital ID regime in order for the transition to be successful.

The WEF is the globalist organization behind the widely-criticized “Great Reset” agenda. The Great Reset is a radical plan designed by global elites that “seeks to ‘push the reset button’ on the global economy” and establish a New World Order that seems to closely emulate many aspects of the Chinese Social Credit System.

According to the WEF, under the “Great Reset,” by the year 2030, “You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy.”

Canadian Parliament launches investigation into Trudeau gov’t actions against Freedom Convoy

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/canadian-parliament-launches-investigation-into-trudeau-govt-actions-against-freedom-convoy/

'The responsibilities of this committee are very, very serious,' said Conservative MP Glen Motz. 'We all recognize that.'

A joint committee of Parliament officially launched an inquiry into the Trudeau Cabinet’s actions against the Freedom Convoy protesters.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, the “unprecedented inquiry” into Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Cabinet’s actions launched Monday is being headed by an 11-member joint panel that has “one year to determine why cabinet invoked extraordinary police powers against truckers.”

“In my opinion our discussions should be in public when they can be,” said Bloc Québécois MP Rhéal Fortin, adding that Canadians expect such an investigation to avoid secrecy “without good reason.”

The committee includes Liberal party appointees Senator Gwen Boniface, former Ontario Provincial Police commissioner; Senator Peter Harder, former government representative in the Senate; MP Yasir Naqvi, former Ontario attorney general; MP Arif Virani, former Crown lawyer; and MP Rachel Bendayan, a former corporate lawyer.

The Conservative Party appointees are Senator Vernon White, former Ottawa chief of police; Senator Claude Carignan, a lawyer; MP Larry Brock, a former Crown prosecutor; and MP Glen Motz, a retired police inspector.

The New Democrats also have one member, MP Matthew Green, and the Bloc Québécois has the aforementioned MP, Rhéal Fortin.

“The responsibilities of this committee are very, very serious,” Motz said yesterday. “We all recognize that.”

The inquiry is into whether or not the government was justified in invoking the never-before-used Emergencies Act against the group of anti-COVID mandate protesters who dubbed themselves the “Freedom Convoy.” The group demonstrated in the nation’s capital of Ottawa for three weeks in January and February until the federal government granted themselves emergency powers and cracked down on the largely peaceful group.

Using the Emergencies Act, Trudeau granted the federal government unprecedented powers such as the ability to freeze bank accounts without a court order, as well as the ability to deploy the national police force, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, to physically remove protesters.

The crackdown resulted in video footage of police on horseback trampling protesters, videos appearing to show non-violent protesters being physically assaulted and pepper-sprayed, and footage of an independent journalist alleging she was beaten and intentionally shot at close range with a tear-gas canister.

The use of the act was met with immediate criticism, with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) promptly taking legal action against the federal government over what they deemed to be “unconstitutional” violations perpetrated under an act that was invoked without legal justification.

The invocation of the measures resulted in an international debacle for Trudeau, with many on both the political right and political left likening Trudeau to a dictator whose actions mirrored those of past censorious authoritarian regimes such as Ceaușescu’s Romania and Hitler’s Germany.
