According to the press secretary of the Russian president, Ukraine, in particular, should register constitutionally its neutral status, recognize Crimea as part of the Russian Federation, as well as the independence of the DPR and LPR
LONDON, 7 March. /TASS/. Russia demands from Ukraine that it cease its military activities, register constitutionally its neutral status, recognize Crimea as part of Russia, as well as the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Reuters on Monday, stressing that in this case, the military operation of the Russian Federation could be stopped at any time.
“They should amend their constitution so that Ukraine will reject any goal of joining any bloc. We also talked about the fact that they should recognize that Crimea is Russian territory, and that they should recognize Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states. And that's all. It can stop at any moment," Peskov said in comments to the agency, which published the material in English.
"They [the Ukrainian side] were told that this could be stopped at any moment," the press secretary of the Russian president added.
According to Reuters, Peskov said that Russia does not intend to put forward any new territorial demands to Kiev. "We are actually completing the demilitarization of Ukraine. We will complete it. But the most important thing is for Ukraine to complete its military actions. They must complete their military actions, and then no one will shoot," the Russian leader's spokesman added.
