๐Ÿ’กA tip to turn your phone camera into a makeshift Geiger counter:

-Place black tape over the camera lens, so as to block out any light. (or other, but do not take a material that can block radioactive emissions)

-Test beforehand in a vacuum, take a photo that will serve as a standard (to be taken in a non-contaminated environment)

-Take a picture of the object you want to test for radioactivity by placing the lens against its surface.

The cell (or film) of a camera is affected by the particles projected by radioactivity, which by touching them "illuminates" the pixel(s) crossed.

If the images obtained have a lot (some white pixels are dead zones of the cell, due to the ageing of the camera, that's why it is necessary to calibrate first) of bright spots, it is a formal indication of the presence of radiation.
