Those you trust(ed) the most. They have to give you enough truth to keep the pattern recognition devices from becoming suspect. Every other narrative they weave the truth inside of is a spell/hypnosis meant to lead you away from thinking for yourself. This is why stand up comedy used to be so good. Comics would give you a little more of the the truth, up front, in the form of jokes. The irony kicks in and causes amusement/laughter. But they're just jokes, right? Same pattern with late night talk shows. Anon made a post, once, about how John Oliver show works, and another anon reworded it to make it more readable/easier to understand. Was one of the best (re)written explanations I've seen.
