IF energy independence was truly their goal, there would be better infrastructure, more charging stations, cheaper electric batteries, electric cars would be able to go far more miles between charging than is currently available and instead of a $4000.00 tax incentive to purchase an electric vehicle they would offer a stipend to every American of driving age to purchase an electric vehicle.
But, first they would have to stop sending billions to other countries and keep their hands out of the various tax-payer funded cookie jars.
It will never happen.
