Your brain is an antenna. Why do think you, and virtually all creatures have this most important organ closest to, and with an unobstructed view of the sky? Survival dictates that it should be encased in armor (it is) and placed deep in a well protected area (it isn't).
There must be some nearly universal reason for brains to be where they are.
It's the same reason antennas are where they are optimally…high to the sky.
