TYB!
I've heard an interpretation that said Judas was his closest follower, and he tasked him to betrayal in order to fulfill the destiny.
He obeyed but was still overcome by guilt.
Stick him in there for 30 days in genpop, then see if he wants to implicate anyone for a lighter sentence.
Hard to do with a bs jail term, but he's probably soft enough to make it work.
