I hear you, anon. I struggled with Trump's role for a long time - right or wrong here is where I land:
After Trump served his role, his job became to let down all his supporters. We can't rely on a charismatic leader to ride in on a white horse and fix everything, lest we stay sleeping. I believe the Trump administration kicked off the kinetic part of cleansing this world of the evil that lies just around every corner and under every rug. Ultimately, it will be OUR job to ensure it never takes hold here again. If Trump remained in our minds as the one who fixed everything and solved all the problems - we wouldn't stay vigilant and we would never fix anything ourselves.
It fucking sucks, but his role is to become part of the swamp so we turn our backs on him and lean on our neighbors.
