Royal Navy had three flags and the navy was divided into three Red, White, and Blue. Each division was commanded by an admiral.
White Ensign which is the one everyone knows is the current flag.
Blue Ensign and Red Ensign are nowadays used for the UK merchant fleet and Reserve fleets.
