Class of 89 also. Never owned a pair of parachute pant's. Lifetime 501's guy until the factory in San Franpsyco got turned into a "diversity park" and they shipped the jobs to some turd world shithole. Haven't bought a pair since. Now I just go with the cheapest cargo pants at the tractor supply and replace often.
That was the start of the "Yo-boy" crowd. Bunch of skinny white kids that thought they were niggers. Now developed into "aspiring rapper in the vein of M&M" shitheads.
Stupid fucking white people.
That fucking band Beasty Boys started that shit. We used to beat those fucks that listened to that shit up and break their stereos. Fucking low rider trucks with the whole bed full of 12' speakers.
Punk as fuck and didn't give a fuck. (I truly thought I'd be dead by now)
I still want to thump them 35 years later and I'm a well adjusted grandfather close to retirement. Pillar of the community.
<nuggies your noggin until you agree this is better>
Low riders were mostly a Mexican thing until the 80's. Then the Mini truckers got their hands on all those Nissan and Toyota trucks. Knocked out a leaf on the rear and chop the front springs. Boom your truck bounces off every pebble in the road. Add $1000.00 worth of stereo equipment and you got a chick magnet for the way wrong kinds of chicks. MTV made all that crap popular. Beasty Boys were integral to that. It may have started in Miami but mainstream America got it from MTV.
