Russia Threatens Attack On NATO Weapons Shipments To Ukraine: "Legitimate Targets"

Setting the stage for a potential major escalation with Western and NATO powers, the Kremlin warned on Saturday that the Russian military is prepared to target Western arms shipments that are continuing to pour into Ukraine. Russia's Deputy FM Sergei Ryabkov said on state TV that Washington had been informed in the last days that Moscow will see weapons supply convoys entering Ukraine as "legitimate targets".

"We warned the United States that the orchestrated pumping of weapons from a number of countries is not just a dangerous move, it is a move that turns these convoys into legitimate targets," Ryabkov said in the remarks, which served as a severe warning to the West.

He added that Russia has formally warned "about the consequences of the thoughtless transfer to Ukraine of weapons like man-portable air defense systems, anti-tank missile systems and so on." He added that from Moscow's point of view, the US administration has failed to take these warnings seriously.

Weeks prior the lead-up to Russia's Feb.24 invasion of Ukraine, the US Embassy in Kiev had tweeted photographs anytime a major arms shipment arrived. The US authorized Baltic allies in the transfer of Javelin anti-tanks missiles to supply Ukrainian forces; at the same time, the UK had sent many rounds of transport plane-loads of munitions and weapons systems.

It's also believed that supplies Stinger anti-aircraft missiles are being ramped up. The fresh Russian warning also comes following the US-Poland MiG-29 fiasco. Warsaw had prematurely offered to give all off its MiGs to the US so that they could be flown into Ukraine from Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.

The Biden admin said the offer was a "surprise" while the Pentagon flat-out rejected the plan, saying that the risk would be too high of bringing NATO into direct conflict with Russian forces, given that the planes would have to enter Ukraine from the West, risking an aerial engagement incident.

Rabbi detained in Abramovich probe

An investigation into how the embattled Russian oligarch attained Portuguese citizenship could see him lose his EU passport

A senior rabbi has been detained by police in Portugal as part of an investigation into how Russian businessman and Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich obtained citizenship in the country.

Rabbi Daniel Litvak was arrested by judicial police officers at the airport in the country’s second-largest city, Porto, on Thursday as he was about to board a flight to Israel, Portuguese daily Publico reported.

Litvak is the head of the Jewish Community of Oporto, which was delegated the task of vetting applications for Portuguese citizenship from descendants of Sephardic Jews.

The group received its powers under a law introduced in 2013 to atone for the campaign of religious persecution during the Inquisition in Spain and Portugal in the 16th century, which forced many Jews to hide their identity or leave those countries altogether.

Several Portuguese agencies have been looking into whether “influence-peddling, active corruption, forgery of documents, money laundering,” and other crimes were committed when Abramovich received his Portuguese passport and became an EU citizen last April, according to Publico.

The 55-year-old businessman, who also has Russian and Israeli papers, had been granted citizenship “in record time,” the paper alleged at the time. This raised the authorities’ suspicions, as most Russian Jews are Ashkenazi and don’t have Sephardic roots.

In January, Litvak insisted the investigation would prove there was no impropriety about the way his organization had processed Abramovich’s application. If this is not found to be the case, Portuguese officials told Reuters, he could end up losing his EU passport.

The inquiry into Abramovich’s application began before Russia’s attack on Ukraine in late February, which saw the oligarch sanctioned by the UK. It has now been intensified due to recent events.

On Thursday, Britain froze his assets and accused him of “obtaining a benefit from or supporting the government of Russia” due to his undertaking business “in sectors of strategic significance” to the Kremlin. Other prominent Russian businessmen were also targeted. Chelsea FC’s assets have also been blocked, stalling Abramovich’s plan to sell the London club, which won the Champions League last year. A number of reports on Saturday suggest US hedge funds have also frozen the entrepreneur’s accounts.

More than 40 Senate Republicans are calling on the Biden administration to assist in the transfer of Soviet-era aircraft to Ukraine so it can defend itself against Russian forces.

“So far, Russian forces have been stymied by stiff Ukrainian resistance, and we must redouble our efforts to prevent a brutal and unlawful takeover of Ukraine. We urge your administration to work with Poland and our NATO allies to expedite the transfer of urgently-needed airpower, air defense systems and other combat and support capabilities from the United States, NATO allies, and other European partners to Ukraine,” the senators wrote in a letter to President Joe Biden on Thursday.

The letter, signed by 42 Republicans including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, came after U.S. officials rejected a proposal from Poland to transfer its Soviet-era MiG fighter jets to Ukraine through a U.S. military base in Germany.

Massive Fraud Identified in Latest Texas Election – 15% of All Mail-In Ballots Rejected

More than 16,000 ballots were rejected in the latest election in Texas.

CBS reports that more than 16,000 ballots were rejected in the recent election in Texas.

Thousands of Texans who tried to vote by mail during this month’s primary elections had their ballots tossed out, many of which were rejected because of issues that voters had in trying to comply with the state’s new voting law.

A CBS News analysis of election data has found that at least 16,800 mail ballots were rejected across 14 of the 25 counties with the most registered voters. That’s about 15% of all mail ballots returned in those counties.

The rejections came in the first major election since Texas Republicans passed a sweeping new election law, known as SB1, after months of objections from Democrats and voting rights advocates. Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed the bill last September.

CBS continues and describes these results in Harris County.

Harris County, the country’s third most populous county and home to Houston, had 6,888 mail-in ballots rejected of the 36,878 returned due to issues complying with the new voting law, according to the Harris County elections department. That’s nearly 19% of all returned mail ballots. Just 31 ballots were rejected for reasons not related to the new voting law.

The number of mail ballots rejected this year far exceeded the rejection rate from the last midterm election primaries. In the 2018 primaries, officials said that just 135 mail ballots were rejected of the 48,473 mail ballots cast, a rejection rate of 0.3%.

Harris County’s elections department says it doubled the staff dedicated to voter outreach and contacting voters if there were issues. But ultimately, only 849 people corrected their ballots — out of the 7,750 flagged for rejection.

White House briefed TikTok stars on Ukraine invasion, Jen Psaki told influencers that Russia 'hacked' 2016 election

The White House welcomed popular personalities from the Chinese social media platform TikTok to deliver a briefing on the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the influencers. During the briefing, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki pushed a claim that the 2016 election was "hacked" by Russians.

The White House spoke to 30 "top TikTok stars" on a Zoom call on Thursday, according to the Washington Post.

The White House has been closely watching TikTok's rise as a dominant news source, leading to its decision to approach a select group of the platform's most influential names. This week, the administration began working with Gen Z For Change, a nonprofit advocacy group, to help identify top content creators on the platform to orchestrate a briefing aimed at answering questions about the conflict and the United States' role in it.

Psaki told the influencers, "Thank you all for everything you're doing. I mean, use of your platforms to educate, to inform, to debunk, to demystify, during what is a very tumultuous, heartbreaking time in the world is remarkable, and we recognize and value all of your platforms."

The platform the influencers use is the Beijing-based short-form video app TikTok – which has been scrutinized for potentially having security risks. The Department of Defense stated that the social media app features "potential security risks associated with its use." In 2020, the U.S. Army, and Navy prohibited TikTok from being used on government-issued phones. Last July, the massively popular social media app gave itself permission to collect biometric data of U.S. users – which includes faceprints and voiceprints.

Jules Suzdaltsev – a TikTok personality who was born in Ukraine – claimed the officials at the meeting dodged hard questions and said, "The energy of the call felt like a press briefing for kindergarteners."

One of the influencers at the briefing on the war in Ukraine is Ellie Zeiler – an 18-year-old with over 10.5 million followers on TikTok where she typically does dances and makeup tutorials.

"I’m here to relay the information in a more digestible manner to my followers," Zeiler told the Washington Post. "I would consider myself a White House correspondent for Gen Z."

During the call with the TikTok influencers, Psaki claimed that Russia "hacked" the 2016 election in which Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton.

"If you look back at 2014, and frankly even 2016, when Russia invaded Ukraine and then in 2016, when they, you know, of course, hacked our election here, we did not do that, we did not declassify information," Psaki told the group of TikTok stars.

Fox News notes, "While Russian hackers were behind the stealing of emails from Democratic officials like John Podesta, there is no evidence that they tampered with election results as part of the 2016 hacking spree."

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence investigated possible Russian influence on the 2016 election and released a report in 2017.

"We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election," the DNI investigation found.

‘Let Them Come’ – Zelensky Says Russians Will Have to ‘Kill Us All’ to Take Kyiv

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky says he’s open for talks with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in Israel, but only if there is a cease-fire in place.

Zelensky said Saturday he told Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett that he would be ready to meet Putin in Jerusalem. Bennett visited Moscow for a meeting with Putin and spoke repeatedly with Zelensky and the leaders of France and Germany as he sought to help mediate an end to the war.

Zelensky said Bennett informed him about his talks with Putin, adding that he can’t share details.

Putin has ignored numerous previous offers of talks from Zelensky.

Speaking at a news conference, Zelensky said the Russians could take the Ukrainian capital “only if they kill us all.”

“If that is their goal, let them come,” he said. “If they carry out carpet bombings and wipe off the historic memory of the entire region, the history of Kyivan Rus, the history of Europe, they could enter Kyiv, but they will have to live on that land alone, certainly without us.

“Even if they bring a million Russians here, they can’t occupy Ukraine,” he added.

Zelensky again deplored NATO’s refusal to declare a no-fly zone over Ukraine despite its repeated pleas. He said that Ukraine has sought for ways to procure air defence assets, but he wouldn’t mention any details.

YouTube Blocks Russia-Funded Channels Worldwide, Halts All Monetization in Russia

YouTube is tightening the screws on Russian state-funded media channels, blocking access to them around the world and halting all ways to monetize on the platform in Russia, the company said in a statement, citing content policies relating to events like the Ukraine war.

The Google-owned video-streaming platform announced that it was removing content about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that violates its policies prohibiting content that denies, minimizes, or trivializes violent events.

“In line with that, we are also now blocking access to YouTube channels associated with Russian state-funded media globally, expanding from across Europe,” the company said.

Several days after Russia launched what the Kremlin refers to as a “special military operation” to neutralize Ukraine’s military and depose its leadership, YouTube blocked Russian state-funded channels Russia Today and Sputnik across Europe.

Friday’s move expands those prohibitions across the world, effective immediately, though YouTube said it would take some time for enforcement to ramp up.

YouTube also said it had expanded its recent advertising pause in Russia to include halting all of the ways to monetize on its platform.

GOP Rep. Jackson: Joe Biden ‘Needs to Resign,’ ‘Not Cognitively Capable of Leading’

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), who served as White House physician during the Obama and Trump administrations, is calling for President Joe Biden to resign, noting he is “not cognitively capable of leading.”

“Biden doesn’t know what’s going on with Ukraine. He doesn’t know what’s going on with ANYTHING!” Jackson tweeted Friday. “He’s not cognitively capable of leading. He needs to RESIGN before our country suffers any more.”

On February 8, Jackson, who has been calling for Biden to undergo a cognitive assessment since last year, penned a letter to Biden demanding he take a cognitive test over fears that he may have Alzheimer’s Disease, Breitbart News reported. The letter was signed by 37 of his fellow Republican lawmakers.

The next day, Jackson appeared on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Company and reaffirmed his stance that Biden is mentally unfit to serve as President, Breitbart News reported.

Jackson said then:

I was at the White House during the Bush administration, the Obama administration, and the Trump administration. I was there for 14 years as the White House physician. I know exactly what it takes mentally and physically to do that job, and I think it’s on full display for everybody in the country and everybody in this world to see right now that President Biden does not have the cognitive ability to do his job right now. He’s continued to get worse and worse.

Jackson continued, highlighting his previous calls for an assessment, noting that the precedent was set when President Trump underwent cognitive testing following outcries from the leftwing media:

I sent a letter back in June of last year requesting that he have a cognitive test done as part of his annual physical exam. This was before he had his physical exam done. He recently had his physical exam done; there was no mention whatsoever of any cognitive testing. And I remind everybody that we did this with President Trump. We set the precedent. We did this because of the outcry from the liberal media and from mainstream media, and from the far left that the president should have a cognitive test as part of his evaluation. The precedent has been set. And President Biden needs to step up to the plate, he needs to have this test done, and they need to provide these results to the American people so we can have trust and confidence that he’s capable.

Jackson spoke with Fox News Digital in an article published on February 23 – the day before Russia invaded Ukraine. Jackson told the outlet that Biden’s mental acuity “was on full display during the debacle in Afghanistan” and cautioned Biden is “going to get more Americans killed” and “ultimately get us in a war because of his lack of leadership.”

Jackson’s call for Biden’s resignation comes as a Politico/Morning Consult poll revealed less than 25 percent of Americans strongly believe Biden to be mentally fit, healthy, and stable, Breitbart News reported Tuesday. “The Politico poll sampled 2005 registered voters from March 4-6 with a margin of error of + / – 2 percentage points,” Breitbart News noted.

600,000 Italians Set to Receive Fines for Being Unvaccinated

Around 600,000 Italians over the age of 50 are set to receive a fine for being unvaccinated despite the Italian government reviewing a loosening of various Wuhan virus restrictions.

In January, the Italian government decided to make vaccination mandatory for all residents over the age of 50, with the mandate coming into effect in February. At least 600,000 Italians have been referred to the Italian tax agency and are expected to receive a 100 euro (£84/$110) fine.

Undersecretary for Health Andrea Costa has meanwhile stated that, starting on April 1st, some coronavirus restrictions will start to ease, including the health pass system linked to vaccinations known as the Green Pass, newspaper Il Giornale reports.

“From April 1st, a new phase opens: the green pass will no longer be necessary for outdoor spaces, bars and restaurants,” Costa said, adding that the European Union member-state would “gradually come to remove all restrictions by the summer.”

The 600,000 people expected to receive a fine for being unvaccinated is well below prior estimates in late January, which suggested as many as 1.8 million Italians were at risk of being fined for not being fully vaccinated.

Fines are also set to increase for those over 50 who continue to refuse to get the vaccine, and could go as high as between 600 euros (£499/$668) and 1,500 euros (£1,248/$1,671) for those who go to work without the “super green pass” health passport — a variation of the green pass that is only given to those fully vaccinated or those recovered from the virus.

Undersecretary Costa stated that the government was considering relaxing the rules for over-50s in the workplace and allowing them to work with a basic green pass, which would allow unvaccinated people to prove they had a negative test.

Even Italian lawmakers over the age of 50 are not exempt from the vaccination rules, and several parliamentarians expressed their frustration with them last month, with one senator comparing the policy to the Fascist regime of Benito Mussolini.

200 Migrants Released by Feds to NGO Shelter in Texas near Border

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Federal officials released approximately 200 migrants in less than an hour to a shelter in the Texas border community of Eagle Pass. The migrants observed by Breitbart Texas all appeared to be adult single males.

A bus operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection pulled up in front of the Mission Border Hope shelter on late this week to drop off a group of migrants. After a brief confrontation with shelter managers, Breitbart Texas filmed approximately 50 migrants being released by the federal agency into the border community.

A security guard informed Breitbart they would be bringing three more busloads within the next hour. Each bus can hold up to 52 migrants, the guard stated.

The released group of migrants consisted of single adult males. These migrants are being released into the community instead of being expelled to Mexico under the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol put in place by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

At one point in the video, a reunion occurs as one of the migrants already in the fenced area of the shelter shouts out to what appears to be a friend coming off the bus. The pair “high-five” each other when the second man passes through the fence.

The shelter holds the migrants for a day or two and then either releases them into the community or transports them to San Antonio, Breitbart learned. The security guard said they are receiving and releasing hundreds per day.

Eagle Pass is located in the Del Rio Sector. In January, the latest numbers available, Del Rio became the busiest sector with the apprehension of nearly 31,000 migrants. The sector passed the Rio Grande Valley Sector to become the busiest sector for the first time in its history.

During a 12 hour period on Thursday, Breitbart witnessed the crossing and apprehension of nearly 100 migrants in a mile-long section of the border river in Eagle Pass. The Del Rio Sector is responsible for patrolling more than 200 miles of the Rio Grande which separates Texas and Mexico.

Google, Apple, Facebook Call on Texas to Drop Legislation Against Child Sex Change Procedures

Tech giants Google, Apple, and Facebook have joined a group of 60 companies calling on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to drop recent legislation that defines permanent sex reassignment surgery on children as child abuse. The Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe and their friends have called on Texas leaders to “abandon efforts to write discrimination into law.”

The Verge reports that Google, Apple, and Facebook are part of the 60 companies asking Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to shut down recently proposed legislation that would define sex reassignment surgery for children as child abuse. In a full-page ad published in the Friday edition of the Dallas Morning News, the companies called on Texas lawmakers to “abandon efforts to write discrimination into law.”

The ad states: “This policy creates fear for employees and their families, especially those with transgender children, who might now be faced with choosing to provide the best possible medical care for their children but risk having those children removed by child protective services for doing so. It’s not just wrong, it has an impact on our employees, our customers, their families, and our work.”

Some of those that have signed the ad include companies like Microsoft, Salesforce, IBM, and PayPal, as well as corporations such as Johnson & Johnson, Ikea, and the Gap. Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted his thoughts on the legislation around the time the ad was published:

These Members of Congress Could Make a Profit on US Arms Shipments to Ukraine

Some members of Congress stand to personally profit off Russia's war on Ukraine. At least 18 federal lawmakers or their spouses hold stock in Raytheon Technologies and Lockheed Martin, which manufacture the weapons Western allies are sending Ukraine to fight Russian invaders, according to an Insider analysis of federal financial records.

The stock holdings by members of Congress come as the U.S. is preparing to send billions of dollars in defense aid to Ukraine. Both companies' stock especially that of Lockheed Martin have risen since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

Among the weapons the U.S. and NATO members have dispatched to Ukraine are the so-called "fire and forget" Javelin and Stinger missiles that troops carry on their shoulders during battle.

The joint Raytheon/Lockheed Martin-made Javelin missile is touted as "the world's premier shoulder-fired anti-armor system" capable of destroying battle tanks.

Raytheon's Stinger missiles are designed to shoot down helicopters and other low-flying aircraft. Raytheon advertises the Stinger as "rapidly deployed by ground troops" and credited with "more than 270 fixed- and rotary-wing intercepts."

Among those investing in the defense contractors is Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who bought between $1,001 and $15,000 in Lockheed Martin shares on February 22.

Two days after her purchase, Greene wrote in a Twitter thread: "War is big business to our leaders."

In a statement to Insider, Greene said her investment advisor made the purchase and noted it was only one among several other new purchases.

But her critics seized on the trade as emblematic of what they consider an endemic problem in Congress: lawmakers personally buying and selling stock in ways that could conflict with their official responsibilities and position of public trust.

"Add this to the list of why members of Congress should never be allowed to trade stocks," quipped Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota on Twitter, sharing a subtweet that showed Greene's financial disclosure document.

Pentagon could need more cash if Ukraine support, NATO border mission drags on

The Pentagon could need more than the extra $5 billion it already asked Congress to approve if its mission supporting the Ukrainian military with weapons and equipment and helping secure NATO’s border in Eastern Europe continues, a top defense official said.

“I do believe that we will probably need additional funding at DOD for this,” Pentagon Comptroller Mike McCord said Wednesday at the McAleese and Associates defense programs conference in Washington.

The $5 billion already requested by the Pentagon is for deploying tens of thousands of U.S. forces to Europe, McCord said.

“If the secretary [Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin] orders more deployments or extends deployments, our costs will start to go up above what we projected,” McCord said. “If they don’t go up a lot, obviously, we have some other tools to deal with that via reprogrammings.”

If the troop numbers “go up a lot, then we would probably come back” and ask for more money from Congress, McCord said.

“We feel good about where we are right now, but it’s hard to predict if we will need any more troops,” he said.

Congress still hasn’t approved a Pentagon budget for 2022, despite being nearly six months into the fiscal year. Lawmakers are reportedly close to approving a full-year budget and additional money for Ukraine. The measure includes $782 billion in defense funding, an increase of $42 billion, which some say is excessive.

“Given how much excess spending is already in the budget, there is no need to increase Pentagon outlays in response to developments in Ukraine,” said Bill Hartung, senior research fellow at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. “The current budget can accommodate security assistance to Ukraine and the movement of some personnel to NATO’s eastern flank without further increases.”

The Biden administration still hasn’t sent a fiscal 2023 budget request to Congress. Lawmakers and analysts are expecting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to drive up defense spending in the United States and across NATO.

“One thing that’s so encouraging here is you’re seeing so many NATO allies step up across the board,” McCord said. “So this is not: ‘U.S. to do everything while everybody stands around and watches.'”

Zelensky added that Ukrainian immigrants were among Israel’s founders, “who brought with them their history and their desire to build a great country, as it is now. So it’s not bad at all for us to have such mediation.”

Biden administration announces end to Title 42 expulsions of illegal immigrant children

CDC says only adults and families can be expelled under rule.

The White House will no longer expel unaccompanied immigrant children under a controversial pandemic-related health rule, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Saturday, though adults and families can still be removed from the country under the provision.

The Biden administration said it would cease expelling children under the CDC policy known as Title 42, which allows the government to eject migrants from the country if they are believed to pose a public health risk connected to the pandemic.

A U.S. district court last week had ruled that the administration could no longer exempt children from the rule, which the White House had been doing since January of 2021. The administration responded by explicitly removing children from the rule's coverage altogether.

"In the current termination, CDC addresses the court's concerns and has determined, after considering current public health conditions and recent developments, that expulsion of unaccompanied noncitizen children is not warranted to protect the public health," the agency said in a press release.

The federal government "is able to care for unaccompanied noncitizen children while implementing appropriate COVID-19 mitigation measures through a robust network of care facilities that provide testing, vaccinations and medical care," the CDC said.

Saudi Arabia Kills 81 Convicts in Single Day in Its Largest Mass Execution

The executed Saudis were convicted of murder and membership in Islamic militant groups, local news agencies say

Saudi Arabia on Saturday executed 81 people convicted of a variety of crimes, including murder and membership in militant groups, in the largest mass execution conducted by the kingdom in its modern history.

The total number of those put to death surpassed that of the 1980 mass execution of those convicted of the seizure of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, which saw 63 people beheaded.

The state-run Saudi Press Agency announced Saturday's executions, saying they included those “convicted of various crimes, including the murdering of innocent men, women and children.” The kingdom also said some of those executed were members of al-Qaeda, the Islamic State group and backers of Yemen's Houthi rebels.

“The accused were provided with the right to an attorney and were guaranteed their full rights under Saudi law during the judicial process, which found them guilty of committing multiple heinous crimes that left numerous civilians and law enforcement officers dead,” the Saudi Press Agency said.

“The kingdom will continue to take a strict and unwavering stance against terrorism and extremist ideologies that threaten the stability of the entire world,” the report added.

The kingdom's last mass execution came in January 2016, when the kingdom executed 47 people, including a prominent opposition Shiite cleric who had rallied demonstrations in the kingdom.

In 2019, the kingdom beheaded 37 Saudi citizens, most of them minority Shiites, in a mass execution across the country for alleged terrorism-related crimes.

A former small-town Pennsylvania police chief has been convicted of raping a child in a case that has languished for years after the victim first came forward in 2012.

The victim of former Weissport police chief Brent Robert Getz, 30, said that he began abusing her when she was six years old and he was 16.

She said it happened hundreds of times, several times a week, until she was 11.

The girl first told her elementary school substitute teacher that Gregory E. Wagner Jr., 31, had raped her. That abuse began when she was four and Wagner was 14.

At one point, she recorded a video of Wagner forcing her to her watch pornography because nobody believed her.

Police revisited the case in 2018. That's when the victim revealed that Getz, Wagner's friend, had also participated. Wagner later implicated Getz.

Authorities have not described the girl's relationship to Wagner.

In addition to the rape count, the jury found Getz, of Lehighton, guilty Thursday of one count each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child and indecent assault of a child under 12.

His bail was immediately revoked and he was taken to jail. He has not yet been sentenced.

After his 2019 arrest, Getz was fired from his job as police chief in Weissport, a town of 413 residents about 77 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

FBI Whistleblower Raises Questions About Pipe Bombs Set Near DNC, RNC Headquarters: Lawmaker

Ohio Republican lawmaker Jim Jordan said he has requested a briefing with the FBI after a whistleblower allegedly disclosed information regarding the bureau’s investigation into pipe bombs planted near the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington the night before the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol.

Jordan, who is ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, said he sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray on March 9 after a senior FBI special agent came forward with information regarding an “unusual” request from the FBI’s Washington Field Office.

“According to the special agent, on February 7, 2022—over a year after the placement of the bombs—the FBI’s Washington Field Office asked FBI field offices to canvass all confidential human sources nationwide for information about the individual and the crime,” Jordan said in his letter.

“In part, the message asked that the canvass ‘include sources reporting on all [types of] threats’ because the suspect’s ‘motive and ideology remain unknown.'”

Jordan said that the special agent had described the request as “unusual” because it “was transmitted more than a year after the FBI had begun the investigation, and it raises questions about the progress and extent of the FBI’s investigation.”

The FBI began investigating the incident after an unknown individual dressed in a hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and a mask placed two pipe bombs in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C. on Jan. 5, 2021.
