I hope they do. We're going to have to get into the war eventually. It's better to do it now while the Russians are disorganized, inexperienced, and reluctant and while out supply lines are short. If we don't then we establish a president that Russia can steamroll anyone (not in NATO) they want and NATO will just sit clutching their pearls, scared of Putin's nukes. Putin will see Moldova and Georgia are free-for-the-takingโ€ฆ and he'll be right. And he won't stop there. He'll take half of the Caucasuses before we get off our asses. And China has nukes too. They'll apply the same logic and similarly steamroll everyone (except Japan and S. Korea) in the neighborhood.

Better to quash it now.

It was a mistake for Zelenskyy to tell the world that they were tipped off about the assassination squads by the FSB. It made for good propaganda to say that the Russian government was internally divided. But it told Putin where to look for the traitor. I hope the old comedian actor learns a lesson from this.

He would rather leave Ukraine with his tail between his legs than test that theory.

Being chased away be another dog 20 times his size would be a pretty good face-saving excuse for why his army was unable to complete it's mission. It's really Putins' only good excuse.

We can't sit back and let Russian and China conquer the entire non-NATO-aligned world. We won't at some point we'll have to put a stop to it. How far it goes before we do set the size of the new Soviet Union-like entity that will emerge.

Putin's error was see NATO as threat to Russia.

If you have a car and you're worried about getting in an accident then you purchase collision insurance. If you own a house and are worried about it burning down then you purchase fire insurance. And if you're a former Warsaw Pact country and you're worried about a crazed KGB officer trying to get the band back together by force then you purchase Russian Invasion Insurance. That's all NATO membership ever was to these countries.

Do you think that if some future American president said, "Alright men, the time has come! They're finally weak enough. Let's go invade Russia!" that Latvia and Estonia would want anything to do with that foolishness? Of course not.
