My moment came when nasa officially said they had lost the original moonlanding footage.
When the internet first was starting I downed every documentary on apollo missions etc. One doco interviewed the guy who designed the hasselblad camera the astronauts used. one very fat gloved finger operable… interviewer asked him if he had anything from the mission and the designer went on about how all the film was incredibly carefully contained in climate controlled safe room. and he had one first generation copy of a negative. blah blah blah….. but then they lost original footage!!!!! bullshit alarms went off and i've not been able to believe anything since….
