Just got the opportunity to watch White Squall for the first time. There was a scene midway through where the kid is playing with a spear fishing gun. You get the sense that he is mock shooting commies because you hear a JFK speech in the background. It's his October 16th speech in '62 in regards to the Cuban missile crisis. It's kind of a mirror to our current Ukraine situation if you think about it. Makes me wonder if it was on purpose?
