Hope you don't let lives rest on faith, and that you actually do the equations to ensure your plans are safely engineered.

I'm sure the NASA engineers had "faith" in the Challenger…faith didn't save those astronauts.

In April 2020 DJT negotiated a 2 year global 9.6M bbl/day cut in oil product to help raise prices and reduce the glut of excess oil in global markets which excceded available storage capacity. Over 7 Billion barrels of oil stayed in the ground and out of the supply chain as a result of the largest cut in oil production in world history. We are now seeing shortages due to this drastic reduction. Thanks Trump.

For real. And if you check the storage records, Trump never filled the Strategic Peteoleum Reserve in spite of him saying he did.

As a Biomedical Engineer, I hear what you are saying, but ascribe the phenomenon to intuition, from years of experience and observation of reality.

I trust my instruments, until they lie to me, then I verify my instruments with different instruments. I never have "faith" that a high voltage hazard is locked out, until I verify it myself. I don't entrust the safety of the patients who will come into contact with the equipment I work on to faith, I observe the results of the instruments and make calculated assessments as to the safeness of the equipment.

I can often diagnose a problem in a matter of seconds, but that isn't faith, it's experience and intuition..both of which can make you look stupid if you don't verify with proper troubleshooting amd testing.
