DeSantis Warns Dems Will “Reimpose” COVID Restrictions After Midterms

Blue states and cities across the country conveniently dropped COVID restrictions as the midterms approach.

The science didn’t change — the only feasible explanation for this is bad polling.

Democrats across the country are scrambling to reverse course on COVID-19 restrictions as this year’s midterm elections loom.

With the notable exception of the White House, Democrats at every level are signaling their support for returning to normal as polls show Americans are weary of coronavirus restrictions, which Republican states have largely done away with.

According to a recent poll by Monmouth University, 70% of Americans say it’s time for the country to move on from the pandemic, and a decreasing number of Americans support COVID-related mandates. President Biden’s approval ratings on handling COVID, once a strength, are also now underwater, with 43% approving and 53% disapproving, according to the poll.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has been on the right side of this issue since the beginning.

He was allowing Florida residents to be free while Democrats attacked him over it.

DeSantis is now warning that after midterms they will “reimpose” the COVID restrictions.

DeSantis pointed out that the COVID restrictions will continue if “those types of people are allowed to be put in power.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Friday warned that leftists, many of whom have experienced a sudden “epiphany” and have lifted remaining coronavirus restrictions in their respective states, will reimpose mandates “if they feel the need” after the midterm elections are over.

“The minute those elections are over, they will impose mandates if they feel the need to do that. They will impose restrictions,” DeSantis said during a roundtable discussion in Doral, Florida, making the remarks as blue state leaders lift the remaining restrictions in their areas, months ahead of the midterm elections.

“And so that will happen. If those types of people are allowed to be put in power — my view on that is, they’ve put Fauci in the witness protection program because he will say, you know, no, you should still wear a mask, and he’s never going to say be normal, go back to normal. So they know that, and they know that that’s not what people want,” DeSantis said, emphasizing that “people want to be able to make decisions for themselves.”

“There’s nothing wrong if on an individual basis you make a certain calculation. That’s fine. We encourage you to do that. But it’s wrong to mandate people and restrict people, and that will happen. I guarantee you, winter of 2022, any of those folks that are there, you are going to see that happen,” he continued.

This is the winning way for Republicans.

Instagram users in Russia have been notified that the service will cease from midnight on Sunday after its owner Meta Platforms said last week it would allow social media users in Ukraine to post messages such as “Death to the Russian invaders.”

An email message from the state communications regulator told people to move their photos and videos from Instagram before it was shut down, and encouraged them to switch to Russia’s own “competitive internet platforms.”

Meta, which also owns Facebook, said on Friday that the temporary change in its hate speech policy applied only to Ukraine, in the wake of Russia’s Feb. 24 invasion.

The company said it would be wrong to prevent Ukrainians from “expressing their resistance and fury at the invading military forces.”

The decision was greeted with outrage in Russia, where authorities have opened a criminal investigation against Meta and prosecutors on Friday asked a court to designate the U.S. tech giant as an “extremist organisation.”

Correction, Mr. President: It’s a Deadly Pandemic of the Vaccinated Too

Despite promises from President Joe Biden and top health officials that COVID-19 vaccines would prevent severe illness, death, and perhaps even transmission of the virus, data indicate that thousands of Americans are dying from the illness even after having been vaccinated.

Striking evidence comes from California, Georgia, and Illinois, where a third of people dying with COVID had been vaccinated–even some who had received a third booster shot. In the absence of publicly available federal data, the three states offer some of the best numbers on the post-vaccine impact of a pandemic that has claimed 950,000 American lives.

Some health experts say such deaths were predictable. After all, initial reports on the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson jabs promised vaccine efficacy rates in the 90 percent-plus range–not perfection. So even if a substantial percentage of the population is vaccinated, vaccinated people will still die. And the vaccines were designed to combat a strain of the virus before the Delta and Omicron variants appeared, suggesting the new scourges may have played a major role in the vaccines’ disappointing effectiveness.

Nevertheless, on July 21, 2021, President Biden assured Americans at a Cincinnati town hall that “If you are vaccinated, you are not going to be hospitalized, you are not going to be in the ICU unit, and you are not going to die.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, echoed his remarks in an interview later that month: “The vaccines are very effective in protecting you and extremely effective in protecting you against severe disease.”

The president has largely held to his stance, allowing during his State of the Union address on Tuesday that new vaccines might be needed, even as reality increasingly undermined it. In December, he asserted, “This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated”–words soon to become an administration mantra.

He would later warn: “We are looking at a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated–for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm.”

With such debatable claims, authorities have arguably harmed the vaccinated and unvaccinated alike. The vaccinated–especially the elderly or immunocompromised–have been given a false sense of invincibility. The unvaccinated have been not only scapegoated; some have lost their jobs as the administration’s pronouncements were used to enforce inflexible employer vaccine mandates.

It is true that COVID mortality statistics are uncertain. They are clouded in many cases by failures to distinguish those who died from COVID versus those who died with COVID, and by variations in how “unvaccinated” is defined–with numerous deaths classified as unvaccinated up until two weeks after a victim’s second jab.

But the fairly detailed and unambiguous data from California, Georgia, and Illinois show the vaccinated making up a significant percentage of those dying from COVID as the new strains became prevalent. When the Delta strain circulated from mid-November to mid-December of last year, the vaccinated accounted for 21 percent of all COVID-related deaths in California and Georgia, and 38 percent in Illinois. After Delta was overtaken by the Omicron variant, the proportions in California and Georgia rose substantially to over 33 percent—a level comparable to Illinois, which remained at its already higher rate.

Actor William Hurt dead at age 71

Oscar-winning actor William Hurt died Sunday, his family said.

Hurt — who starred in flicks such as “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” “Children of a Lesser God” and “Broadcast News” — was 71.

The onetime on-screen erudite Romeo had suffered from prostate cancer that spread to the bone, it was announced in 2018.

“It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday,” the actor’s son William said in a statement to Deadline.

“He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. The family requests privacy at this time.”

Black Students Attack White Classmates as 'Revenge' for Slavery

A group of Florida middle school students are facing hate crime charges after a racially motivated assault on their white classmates. The group, made up of three black and two white students, reportedly yelled “It’s opposite day, brown power!” as they whipped, kicked and hit a group of four white kids. Another attacker said the assault was “revenge” for slavery.

The attack took place at a recreation center in Coconut Creek Florida on Wednesday. One of the victims told NBC Miami that the five boys jumped him and yelled racial slurs. The attackers reportedly singled the boy out, saying “you’re white” before throwing him on the ground and proceeding to kick, stomp on and “whip” the victim with a USB cord.

One of the victims, who has not been identified because he is a minor, told NBC that he no longer feels safe attending Lyons Creek Middle School in Broward County, Florida. The victim further said that the attackers told him and his friends that it was “revenge for what they did in the 1700s, slavery.”

‘They were whipping them, kicking them, hitting them,’ Frank Foster, a parent of one of the victims, told NBC. Foster said his son is still being abused at school over text messages for reporting the assault. “People at school are calling him a snitch for reporting it and doing the right thing,” the victim’s father continued.

The five students were arrested and charged battery and evidence of prejudice while committing a battery, which is a third-degree felony. However, the mother of one of the alleged attackers said she is angry at the victims and claimed they are trying to “ruin” her son’s life by having him prosecuted.

RINO Senator Mitt Romney accused former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of spreading ‘treasonous lies’ for simply talking about the US-funded biolabs in Ukraine.

“There are 25+ US-funded biolabs in Ukraine which if breached would release and spread deadly pathogens to US/world.” Gabbard said on Sunday.

“We must take action now to prevent disaster. US/Russia/Ukraine/NATO/UN/EU must implement a ceasefire now around these labs until they’re secured and pathogens destroyed,” she added.

Tulsi Gabbard made her statement based on testimony from Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs in Eurasia, Victoria Nuland.

Last week Victoria Nuland admitted during testimony before a US Senate committee the existence of biological research labs in Ukraine.

Less than 24 hours later, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that reports of biolabs in Ukraine were fake news propagated by Russia.

The RINO-Democrat-media complex is now attacking anyone who brings up the biolabs in Ukraine.

Romney lashed out at Tulsi Gabbard on Sunday: “Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda. Her treasonous lies may well cost lives.”

Just a few days ago Mitt Romney was calling for the US to send fighter jets over to bomb the hell out of Russians in Ukraine.

Mitt Romney is calling for WWIII while Tulsi Gabbard is calling for a ceasefire but Tulsi is endangering lives, not Romney.

The latest developments on the Russia-Ukraine war:

SAVANNAH, Ga. — U.S. soldiers are continuing to deploy to Europe, joining thousands already sent overseas to support NATO allies amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

About 130 soldiers from the 87th Division Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade gathered Friday at Hunter Airfield in Savannah, Georgia and departed on a chartered flight.

The soldiers are in addition to the estimated 3,800 soldiers from the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division who deployed recently from nearby Fort Stewart.

A division commander said that soldiers are being told to prepare for about six months overseas. The Pentagon has ordered roughly 12,000 total service members from various U.S. bases to Europe.

The soldiers’ mission is to train alongside military units of NATO allies in a display of force aimed at deterring further aggression by Russia. The Pentagon has stressed U.S. forces are not being deployed to fight in Ukraine.
