Know what weird is?
Weird is being the adult responsible for caring for an 85 year old mother who's done a month of inpatient rehab for benzos, and STILL begs for those things. I think she's taken every variety of benzo they make.
When I was young I watched her down antihistamines constantly because "my nose runs and my head is congested". Took 'em with a side of Afrin.
Her nervous system is FRIED. Literally sits in a recliner and shakes. Can't hold a fork to eat. Can't hold a glass to drink liquids.
I hate what those drugs did to her.

SSRIs ain't that great, either. Cycled through trying several to cope with the depression & anxiety caused by being drug-addict elderly mom's caregiver.
I didn't need pills. I needed to be rid of the unbearable responsibility.
The SSRIs left me with constant screeching tinnitus and a couple of years I can't remember at all.
The "responsibility" is still alive. Has outlived her parents and both her sisters. Best plan has been to set up outside caregiving for her and staying the hell away from her as much as possible.
Toxic people ought to have to go live on a big island by themselves.
