There are so many "pieces" in play right now I can't count them.

Covid, variants et al.

Food shortages.

Seed shortages.

Fertilizer shortages.

Oil shortages.

Refined oil (gas/diesel) shortages.

Production parts (chips) shortages.

Replacement parts shortages.

Raw material shortages (manufacturing)

Labor shortages (Because of government policies)

What's the play? If they leave the gas spigot on they will have people running hither and yon to get crackers (which are non-existent) and toilet paper.

I'm presuming that "Royal Dutch Shell" and Standard Oil" will just turn it off.

You won't go to work tomorrow.

You won't go to the market tomorrow (because the truck never came)

You won't go to the doctor tomorrow 'cause he didn't shoe 'cause he's out of gas.

They're going to turn the gas off first. Everything else is a cascading failure event of dependency on transportation.

Do you have a bicycle? Do you have extra tires and tubes? If not, you've restricted yourself to walking distance from your home.
