Buses are being organized around Alberta to take people to the convention. The site below may be organizing them, but no info is given. I found out yesterday from a friend of a friend who was at a recent meeting.

Huge early registration signals Kenney's leadership vote will be a heated contest

The April 9 UCP gathering in Red Deer could be 'the greatest grassroots political event in Alberta’s history,' said a central UCP official

Almost 2,900 people have already registered for the April 9 vote on Premier Jason Kenney’s leadership.

United Conservative Party officials say the volume is unprecedented. By the time registrations cut off on March 19, the total might easily hit 6,000 UCP members who will descend on the convention venue in Red Deer.

This looks like “the greatest grassroots political event in Alberta’s history,” said a central UCP official.

It may also be the most contentious. Kenney is painting his opponents as extremists, while others who want him out of the job say that’s simply not true.

Notes: Kenney is a supposedly conservative leader of a conservative province; however, Alberta is the Canadian province often featured here that arrested and imprisoned 2 pastors, locked up their churches, arrested and imprisoned small business owners, etc. The Calgary pastor is back in prison.

Tamara Lich, who started the trucker's gofundme, and was later imprisoned in solitary confinement for weeks, is from southern Alberta. One of the US Canada border blockades was in southern Alberta, at Coutts. You may remember video of farmers on tractors going around the RCMP police barricades.

People in Alberta are very angry the way the pandemic was handled and there is a movement to get rid of Kenney. In response he is using Trudeau's smear techniques to call his opponents racist and extremists. (see article above) He also recently dropped vax passports and masks and is pretending he is for freedom. If you look at his record he is in fact an accomplished liar. Alberta has a provincial election in one year.
