Gowdy stepped down and said he's resigning from politics to go back to being a prosecutor. Where might he carry out this ROLE? My guess is Deputy AG when Rod Rosenstein has to be removed/resigns. Why? Sessions' tasks in this legal system chess match was to focus on 2 things: drugs and elections. It's his expertise. DOJ under the guise of "war on drugs" expanded asset forfeiture powers. This allowed them to take down MS-13 and the Cartels (remember El Chapo? Bet he's useful now w/o AG Schneiderman in the way) which lead to Backpage and NXIVM for example. Also in the background was all the election fraud investigations. These 2 roles were primary in MAGA as they were needed to incarcerate the little people, gather evidence/testimonies, and work their way up (ex: Keith Raniere/Allison Mack) on the "drug" front as well as clean up the voter rolls for the upcoming midterms on the "election" side. Only thing I'm not not sure on is if TG will be Deputy AG (#2) or simply AG (if Sessions' task is already done). POTUS only keeps personnel in positions until they complete their specific usefulness (i.e. Tillerson).
