Global Oil Giant Saudi Aramco Says Annual Profit Doubled in 2021

Aramco, also known as the Saudi Arabian Oil Co., announced Sunday its net profit doubled last year as global growth turned the corner from the coronavirus downturn.

Regarded as the crown jewel of Saudi Arabia’s oil-dependent economy, its success comes as one of the world’s largest producers of gas and one of the biggest oil producers, Russia, is grappling with mounting Western sanctions.

Renewed anxieties about global supply shortages, soaring oil prices and a recovery in fuel demand from the pandemic are predicted to combine in coming months to help drive prices upwards again.

“Our strong results are a testament to our financial discipline, flexibility through evolving market conditions and steadfast focus on our long-term growth strategy,” Aramco president and CEO Amin Nasser said, acknowledging also that “economic conditions have improved considerably.”

AFP reports Nasser cautioned the company’s outlook remained uncertain due in part to “geopolitical factors” and, in an allusion to the effect of the recent price spikes on consumers, also noted that “energy security is paramount for billions of people.”

“We (therefore) continue to make progress on increasing our crude oil production capacity, executing our gas expansion program and increasing our liquids to chemicals capacity,” Nasser added.

Oil-rich Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, have so far resisted pressure from Western allies to raise oil output to rein in prices hit by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, stressing their commitment to the OPEC+ alliance of oil producers, which Riyadh and Moscow lead.

Saudi Aramco’s statement said capital expenditure in 2021 was up 18 percent on 2020 at $31.9 billion, a figure it expects to rise to approximately $40-50 billion this year, before further growth.

The international oil benchmark Brent crude hovered over $107 on Sunday after nearly touching a peak of $140 earlier this month, AP reports.

The administration of Twitter has blocked the account of Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky over the post in which he denied allegations about Russia’s role in a strike on a maternity clinic in Mariupol.

"This morning, Twitter blocked my account, demanding to delete the tweet of March 9, in which I informed that two days before that, we warned at a Security Council meeting that the maternity home that Russia had allegedly made a strike at, causing casualties, had been long before turned into a firing position by Ukrainian nationalists," the diplomat said. "We said on March 7 that all medics and patients had to leave the hospital. With a glance to this, allegations about casualties look like another fake news. This is what I wrote, expressing regrets that the UN was taking part in circulating it," the diplomat said.

"I see this as an illustration of how much the West is really interested in freedom of speech and is ready to hear alternative points of view," the diplomat wrote. "The number of users of my English-language Twitter reached 22,000 in recent days, it was often quoted by Western media, the published information was instantly spread among journalists accredited to the UN," he wrote.

Polyansky stressed that he had always tried to respond to journalists and ordinary users who were interested in Russia’s position. The diplomat said that he would shortly open an English-language channel on Telegram and would use it regardless of whether Twitter would reopen access to his account or not.

Without canceling flights, European airlines have warned pilots to be on the lookout for faulty data. Signals stretched between Finland, currently holding Nordic War Games, and the Mediterranean Sea have been heavily impacted with many reports of spoofed or jammed GPS information. Fingers point at Russia.

Daily Mail: Since the war erupted on February 24, ‘jamming and/or possible spoofing has intensified in geographical areas surrounding the conflict zone and other areas,’ the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) said in an online bulletin Thursday.

‘The effects of GNSS jamming and/or possible spoofing were observed by aircraft in various phases of their flights, in certain cases leading to re-routing or even to change the destination due to the inability to perform a safe landing procedure,’ the agency said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was accused of ordering his military to jam these signals in order to disrupt efforts to navigate the region surrounding Ukraine. While there is no definitive evidence, it is a reasonable accusation since there is, realistically, no one else both capable of and benefiting from the jamming attacks.

This would also not be the first time the Russo-Ukrainian conflict resulted in interference with commercial flight paths. In 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, a passenger flight, was shot down by rebels in eastern Ukraine whose equipment was supplied by Russia. Additionally, just a few days ago, Putin has established a no-fly zone over the separatist Donbas region in Ukraine.

However, even if this was not the doing of the Russian military, the agency states that it is “unlikely” that they will need to suspend flights. However, they do request all flight personnel to report any anomalies relating to GPS signals. Pilots have also been warned not to rely solely on satellite-based systems, due to the fact that they may at any time come under spoofing or jamming attacks.

In scathing speech, Zelensky pleads with Israel to prevent Russia’s ‘final solution’

The West is waging an information war against Russia, it includes elements of information terrorism, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday in an interview with the RT TV channel.

"Substitution of notions often takes place. When something happens, like mass protests, demonstrations that they [the West] don’t like, they immediately call it domestic terrorism. It’s a war. It’s a war which involves methods of information terrorism. There is no doubt about this," he said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday warned of a third world war if negotiations with Russia fail.

Zelensky told CNN's Fareed Zakaria that talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin are vital, saying Ukraine has been reeling since Moscow launched its invasion.

“We were losing people on a daily basis, innocent people on the ground. … Russian forces have come to exterminate us, to kill us,” Zelensky told Zakaria.

“Unfortunately, our dignity is not going to preserve the lives, so I think that we have to do any format, any chance, so in order to have … the possibility of talking to Putin. But if these attempts fail, that would mean … a third world war,” Zelensky added.

Zakaria also asked Zelensky if Ukraine is willing to make compromises to end the Russian invasion, including not joining NATO, as Putin has demanded.

“You cannot reverse this situation anymore. You cannot demand from Ukraine to recognize some territories as intended for conflicts, and these compromises are simply wrong," Zelensky added.

Whitmer jobless benefits scandal: Unvetted workers enabled to disburse $39B in taxpayer funds

Michigan's unemployment agency relied on staffing agencies that employed 47 workers with one or more felony convictions, including embezzlement, illegal sale and use of financial transaction devices, identify theft and armed robbery, according to state watchdog.

Michigan's Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) failed to screen 5,508 workers before giving them access to software that disbursed $39 billion in taxpayer money since March 2020.

An audit released Friday from the Office of Auditor (OAG) General Doug Ringler marked four "material conditions" — the most severe rating — asserting the UIA failed to take multiple safeguards to prevent employees from looting taxpayer money.

The UIA has fired or penalized at least 18 employees so far after a criminal investigation. The audit explains why. Of 139 departed workers, 63, or 45.3%, continued to have access to Michigan's Integrated Data Automated System (MiDAS) to view and make unauthorized claims for an average of 32.6 days post-departure.

This access cost taxpayers $3.8 million in fraud committed by a former worker who pleaded guilty to fraud in July 2020. If that scheme was successful, it would have netted more than $12 million.

The audit says the UIA and the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) might have "inappropriately released a staffing agency from liability for a $3.8 million in UI fraud."

The audit found that staffing agencies and Michigan Works! Agencies (MWAs) employed 169 workers with one or more misdemeanors and/or felonies, of whom 47 had one or more felony convictions, which included embezzlement, illegal sale and use of financial transaction devices, identify theft, and armed robbery. As of Dec. 31, 2020, 71 people with similar criminal records were working for the UIA, the audit says.

Moreover, the UIA didn't execute data sharing agreements in a timely manner with three staffing agencies and 16 MWAs or ensure completion of confidentiality agreements by two staffing agencies and MWAs.

The audit "identified 21 (52.5%) workers who reportedly worked between 2 and 329 hours or an average of 47 hours before completing their initial training," the audit found.

When Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer shuttered much of the economy in 2020 trying to slow the spread of COVID-19, the UIA wasn't ready to handle the caseload of Michiganders, much less international fraudsters who targeted the state's aging security systems. Michigan's unemployment rate spiked to 22.7%.

In spring 2020, Michiganders out of work and fraudsters filed a peak exceeding 388,000 claims in one week — 77 times more than an average pre-pandemic week — overwhelming the system. The Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) approved a majority of the claims, including many of the fraudulent ones.

Florida attorney general warns new synthetic opioid is 20 times stronger than fentanyl

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is warning residents of a deadly new synthetic opioid officials are becoming aware of called Isotonitazene.

“For years, we have been warning about the dangers of fentanyl and how just one pill laced with this synthetic opioid can kill," Moody said. "Now, there is a new, deadlier drug being found in Florida.

“Isotonitazene, also known as ISO, is so strong that it can kill just by coming in contact with someone’s skin or being accidentally inhaled. ISO has already been linked to overdose deaths in Florida, so please, never take any illicit drug and know that using just one time could cost you your life.”

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office issued a “new dangerous drug alert” about ISO, stating it’s “20 times more potent than fentanyl.”

“ISO can be absorbed by the body by skin contact, ingestion or inhalation,” the alert states.

Signs of an overdose include blue/purple fingernails, blue/purple lips, difficulty breathing, unconsciousness, clammy skin, vomiting, pinpoint pupils, drowsiness, all of which can occur within minutes of exposure. Anyone who observes someone presenting these symptoms, the sheriff’s office says, should “call 911 immediately.”

The sheriff’s office says when deputies first came into contact with the powdery substance they thought it was fentanyl. But after being examined in a lab, it was identified as a newer, stronger drug than fentanyl.

Testing by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Lab revealed that ISO has been found in multiple Florida counties since 2020. At least two deaths were linked to ISO in Pasco County last year.

Like fentanyl, it’s being mixed with other drugs and sold in the illicit drug market. Most drug users don’t know the pills they buy are mixed with fentanyl, or ISO.

“ISO is a dangerous substance that we have, unfortunately, seen in Pasco County," Sheriff Chris Nocco said. "As law enforcement continues to have to address the healthcare crisis of substance abuse, our goal remains to save lives and protect our community, which is why we have highlighted and brought awareness to the impact this dangerous substance has in our community.”

Intelligence chief at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)-Miami division, Justin Miller, told Wink News, the DEA is seeing ISO more in Central Florida, and particularly on the Gulf Coast.

“It’s an illegal narcotic, no medical use,” Miller said. “As you see other synthetic opioids such as ISO, or other compounds as well, that are just as potent – and potentially more so than fentanyl – that it’s going to have a direct correlation within with drug overdoses and fatalities.”

The DEA reports that since April 2019, ISO entered the illicit drug market nationally and is responsible for numerous deaths. Like fentanyl, ISO can be laced with cocaine and methamphetamine and sold as a counterfeit pill.

Moody has published a PSA video message warning people about ISO. Her office also created a “Dose of Reality” website about the dangers of opioid misuse, how to receive support for addiction and where to safely dispose of unused prescription drugs.

India Buys Russian Oil, Derailing Biden’s Sanctions War

Washington’s international crusade to unite the world against the Russia is being actively challenged, not only by China, but also by the world’s most populous democracy, India.

On Friday, the Indian government announced that it will increase its imports of Russian oil, purchasing additional energy supplies from Russia – at a special discount rate. The initial purchase is said to be at least 3 million barrels of oil.

Based on today’s trading price at $106 per barrel, Moscow discount price for New Delhi will cost only $85 per barrel.

What makes this story explosive is the fact that this bilateral trade will be in the form of a ‘rupee-rouble’ exchange scheme – designed to beat the West’s sanctions against Russia. The mechanism will no doubt provoke fierce response from the US and its allies.

The news of Russia offering special discount rates for oil in native currencies has the potential to not only rock the global oil markets, but also global currency markets too – signaling a potential future demand for Russian roubles.

This new Eurasian oil deal is a stark reminder of how the conflict in Ukraine has created new complications for the Biden Administration – who is rapidly finding itself on shaky ground due to economic blow back in the West from its move to impose an unprecedented global blockade on Russian trade, finance and culture. Through economic warfare and sanctions, America and its allies have vowed to “collapse the Russian economy” in the hopes that this will cause the population to rise up and overthrow President Vladimir Putin. Thus far, there are no signs of such an uprising taking place, nor are the sanctions altering Russia’s calculus on the battlefield in Ukraine.

The Biden Administration is now scrambling to find a way to disrupt this inconvenient new partnership.

The state-run Indian Oil Corp. bought 3 million barrels of crude oil from Russia earlier this week to secure its energy needs, resisting Western pressure to avoid such purchases, an Indian government official said Friday.

The official said India has not imposed sanctions against buying oil and will be looking to purchase more from Russia despite calls not to from the U.S. and other countries.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to talk to reporters.

The United States, Britain and other western countries are urging India to avoid buying Russian oil and gas. Indian media reports said Russia was offering a discount on oil purchases of 20% below global benchmark prices.

Such prices have surged in recent weeks, posing a huge burden for countries like India, which imports 85% of the oil it consumes. Its demand is projected to jump 8.2% this year to 5.15 million barrels per day as the economy recovers from the devastation caused by the pandemic.

White House press secretary Jennifer Psaki said earlier this week that Indian purchases of Russian oil wouldn’t violate U.S. sanctions, but urged India to “think about where you want to stand when history books are written.”

In an interview with former BlackRock advisor Edward Dowd on “RFK Jr. The Defender Podcast,” Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Dowd discussed the financial and moral implications of fraudulent data from the COVID-19 vaccine trials.

Dowd, a managing director with BlackRock from 2002 to 2012, said, “what tipped me off to the fraud” was when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced it wouldn’t release the trial data for 75 years. He knew something wasn’t right.

Dowd told Kennedy:

“The FDA is in on the cover-up, something went down. The other tip for me was in November of last year, a friend of mine from the biotech industry discovered that Pfizer had failed their all-cause mortality endpoint. And that was not available to us when this fanfare occurred in November of 2020, when they all got excited about 95% efficacy.”

Dowd concluded, “the FDA didn’t really look at this clinical trial data” yet rushed it through due to political pressure or “maybe straight-up bribes,” but either way, he said, the vaccines should have never been approved.

Kennedy and Dowd discussed how the trial numbers were skewed to make it seem the vaccines were effective when the real data showed otherwise.

Kennedy said:

“What it really means is you have to give 22,000 vaccines to prevent one COVID death. And if you’re gonna give 22,000 vaccines, you better make sure that the vaccines don’t kill anybody. Because if they kill one person, you’ve canceled out any benefit.”

Kennedy described how the vaccine makers manipulated the data and the news to maximize profits. He asked Dowd why he thinks there will be consequences.

Dowd said:

“I think there’s enough proof for people to investigate fraud in the clinical data and the FDA’s complicity in this … The tragic part of this is we had to wait for real-world evidence. And the real-world evidence is so awful that there’s gonna be a public outcry. And even though the mainstream media is not participating with this yet, they will. You can’t hide this anymore.”

Dowd also told Kennedy, “investors are slowly waking up to the fact that something is not right” and some are selling their shares in Pfizer and Moderna.

He also said that when the insurance industry awakens to the fraud, there will be greater consequences:

Scott Morrison announces visas for Ukrainians

Australia will provide temporary humanitarian visas for Ukrainians, along with an extra $50 million in military and humanitarian support, the federal government has announced.

The temporary humanitarian visas will allow Ukrainians who have already arrived in Australia to stay for up to three years with the ability to work, study and access Medicare.

The federal government is also providing a further $30 million in humanitarian aid and $21 million in military support for Ukraine.

"The people of Ukraine have been defiant and they've asked for more help," Prime Minister Scott Morrison said.

Around 5,000 Ukrainians have been granted visas to travel to Australia, including skilled migrant and family reunion visas, as well as student and tourist visas.

Once in Australia, they will be eligible to apply for the temporary humanitarian visa, which provide more certainty.

So far, 750 Ukrainians have made it to Australia, with more expected to arrive in coming weeks.

The federal government expects most displaced Ukrainians will want to remain in Europe, but has not put a cap on the number of temporary visas it will offer.

"We are prepared to meet the demand. We haven't set a limit on this," Mr Morrison said.

The plan had been to gather up Britain's waifs and offer them a brighter future by transporting them across the oceans to help populate its former colonies.

Parents were told if they really loved their children they would ship them off to sunny Australia where the boys could grow up to be farmers and the girls might marry well.

In reality, thousands of these children were forced into labour at remote workhouses run by groups such as the Fairbridge Society where they were physically and sexually abused.

The victims of this misguided scheme have sometimes been described as 'orphans of the empire' but few were actually orphans. They were more often just trapped in poverty or been stranded by broken homes.

About 10,000 British children were sent to 26 child migrant centres in six Australian states. One of those was Fairbridge Farm School near Molong in central western NSW, which from 1938 to 1974 took in about 1,000 children as young as four.

The Fairbridge Society was the brainchild of South African-born Rhodes scholar Kingsley Fairbridge who set up his first farm school in Western Australia in 1913.

He was supported by the British government which highlighted the choice between 'begging, thieving, disease, prostitution and early death in the British Isles, or learning farming or domestic skills in Australia'.

But the unwitting parents who believed the promises and signed over their sons and daughters were betrayed and their children's free labour was ruthlessly exploited.

Non-Jews in Israel must keep Noahide laws, chief rabbi says

Jewish law bans non-Jews from living in the Land of Israel unless they adhere to the seven Noahide laws, Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef said.

“According to Jewish law, it’s forbidden for a non-Jew to live in the Land of Israel – unless he has accepted the seven Noahide laws,” Yosef said in his latest weekly sermon over the weekend.

Yosef’s comments appear to have been aimed specifically at Palestinians, since he said one of the Noahide laws is not to commit suicide, a reference to suicide bombers and terrorists.

The Noahide laws, seven specific, basic laws delineated by the Talmud for non-Jews to keep, do not specifically mention suicide, but do prohibit murder.

“If the non-Jew is unwilling to accept these laws, then we can send him to Saudi Arabia,” the rabbi said. “When there will be full, true redemption, we will do this.”

Yosef said explicitly that a non-Jew who does abide by the Noahide laws is permitted to live in the Land of Israel, saying that such people will be assistants and helpers for the Jewish people.

The Anti-Defamation League issued a strong denunciation of Yosef’s comments, and called on him to retract them.

Now Democrats and Dominion are trying to stop the election audit going on in Otero County New Mexico.

The House Oversight Committee is launching an investigation into a partisan ballot review in Otero County, New Mexico, where a self-proclaimed “audit force” is going door to door and questioning voters.

The county, which borders Texas and has about 67,000 residents, agreed this year to pay nearly $50,000 to EchoMail, one of the subcontractors involved in Arizona’s partisan ballot review, to review its 2020 election results.

“The Committee is investigating whether your company’s audit and canvass in New Mexico illegally interferes with Americans’ right to vote by spreading disinformation about elections and intimidating voters,” House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., and Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the chairman of the subcommittee on civil rights and civil liberties, wrote in a Wednesday letter addressed to V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai, the founder of EchoMail.

Despite the Democrats’ and Dominion’s concerns, the audit goes forward.

Erin Clements of the forensic election audit going on in Otero County, NM joined CAT Chats with the latest news on the progress of the audit. She detailed harassment from ‘operatives’ and from the SOS, Maggie Toulouse Oliver, the State Auditor, Brian Colon, and the AG, Hector Balderas.

Clements noted that the county audit was in three primary areas:

Work related to the ballot images created during the 2020 Election

Work related to the operational aspects of the audit, like chain of custody and more.

A Canvassing effort to review the voter rolls in the state.

She also noted that Dr. Shiva is behind the part of the audit involving the ballot images.

Ms. Clements shared the following in her interview below when asked whether the auditors were able to look at the Dominion machines:

Well, the County Commission obviously should have the power to look at them because they have to certify the results of the elections… But the County Commission got a threat, one of many threatening letters from the Secretary of State’s office, saying that if you touch anything, we’re going to decommission them and make you buy new ones.
