For 25 years I've lived in a nation that roughly split between Buddhists and Presbyterians. Buddhism is technically atheistic. Buddhists, in my experience, exhibit just as much morality as their Christian counterparts, and in some notable cases, more. Christianity has no monopoly on morality.

>Buddhism relies on the intervention of higher-beings - supernatural powers. Gods.

Nice try. Buddhism "relies" on no such things. "Buddhism" consists of many traditions. Some of them are serious about deities, others not. There are different types of Buddhism for different kinds of people. The only thing they all have in common is the doctrine of "anatman", or the denial of the existence of an "atman" or ultimate, capital-G God.

If you want to point to motivating factor that might serve to keep their morality in check, you might try karma instead.

Oh, and I've known totally non-religious atheists who are very moral too. Morality does not emerge from religion.

>lol. niceโ€ฆ.

One Sunday, I went to a wealthy church with a mission to deliver to the pastors some information about what satanists were doing to the children of this country by way of the pop culture. Vigilant Citizen type crap that was just really beginning to emerge in this country. They didn't have the eyes to see it, and I was sent there with an 88-slide presentation to education them.

I had pneumonia. I was dangerously ill. I went anyway.

The pastors looked at my presentation and then basically shunted me out to the sidewalk. I stood there and had a breakdown. Couldn't help it. Broke down and started to weep.

That was when an old Buddhist hermit came running up and threw his arms around me. He stood back and looked up at me with true concern in his eyes. He asked what was wrong and why I was so sick. He took me to a nearby restaurant and fed me. An African man from a nearby table overheard our conversation and joined us. We went over my presentation and they both agreed that the satanic machinations of the pop industry needed to be addressed, that the people needed to be educated about it, that I had tried to do the right thing.

That Buddhist hermit, by your standards, was an atheist. But he was more perceptive of the works of evil than were the Christians, plus he fed and comforted a sick man when the Christians didn't give a damn.

But keep on pfizzlin' your evangelical kazoo. I'm sure it'll get you converts somewhere.
