The problem I remember using it before is too many linkages. By the time we would trace all the different Q posts related to the mirror date, and the incremental deltas, there would be dozens of posts to look through, making it a lot easier for a post to 'coincidentally' match up with the news. Like you said, there must be some comms we are missing (example) that would further refine the reading of the clock.
