Cough cough

Covid ain't stopping shit!

President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee, and others, accusing them of conspiring to remove him from the 2016 presidential election.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the United States South Florida District Court, claims that Clinton and other members of the DNC "orchestrated an unthinkable plot – one that shocks the conscience and is an affront to this nation's democracy." The alleged plot in question involved falsifying records and manipulating data in an attempt to "cripple Trump's bid for presidency" during the 2016 election.

Trump's allegations in the lawsuit are undermined by a 966-page report issued by a Republican-led U.S. Senate committee in August 2020. That report concluded that Russia used Republican political operative Paul Manafort and the WikiLeaks website to try to help Trump win the 2016 election.

Manafort worked on Trump's presidential campaign for five months in 2016.

Russia’s alleged election interference, which Moscow denies, sparked a two-year-long U.S. investigation headed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

In the lawsuit, Trump is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. Trump said he was "forced to incur expenses in an amount to be determined at trial, but known to be in excess of twenty-four million dollars ($24,000,000) and continuing to accrue, in the form of defense costs, legal fees, and related expenses."

REEEEEEEEEE CO

Though highly unusual from a legal standpoint, the suit largely echoes themes familiar from Trump’s speeches and public statements. Trump sued under the civil version of a racketeering statute normally used against organized crime.

RICO

“The defendants, blinded by political ambition, orchestrated a malicious conspiracy to disseminate patently false and injurious information about Donald J. Trump and his campaign, all in the hopes of destroying his life, his political career and rigging the 2016 Presidential Election in favor of Hillary Clinton,” Trump claims in his suit.

“When their gambit failed, and Donald J. Trump was elected, the Defendants’ efforts continued unabated, merely shifting their focus to undermining his presidential administration. Worse still, the Defendants continue to spread their vicious lies to this day as they unabashedly publicize their thoroughly debunked falsehoods in an effort to ensure that he will never be elected again.”

The case is Trump v. Clinton, 22-cv-14102, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida (Fort Pierce).

Former President Donald Trump filed a civil RICO lawsuit Thursday in Florida Southern District Court accusing a slew defendants, including political and government operatives and organizations, of conspiring to 'weave a false narrative' that Trump had 'colluded' with Russia in order to 'vilify' him in the eyes of the American public. The 108-page complaint, brought by Ticktin Law Group and Habba Madaio & Associates, targets a wide-ranging list of well known defendants, including but not limited to Hillary Clinton, former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, as well as strategic intelligence firm Fusion GPS, law firm Perkins Coie and the Democratic National Committee. The defendants are accused of misappropriating 'highly sensitive' data and falsifying evidence with an aim to 'ignite a media frenzy' and 'cripple Trump’s bid for presidency.' The case is 2:22-cv-14102, Trump v. Clinton et al.
