Anons,

I can't help thinking that one of the (many) purposes of the "pandemic" response was to get people used to the idea of "zoom" meetings, with cameras in their own spaces.

I've seen a lot of articles in MSM lately about when it's appropriate to have your camera on/off, proper zoom call etiquette in the future, etc.

The argument seems to be one of the "new normal", but I continue to resist the "zoom" trend. First, if a face-to-face meeting is needed, then there are public spaces (e.g., conference rooms, etc.) for such meetings - just as true before Covid as after. Before Covid, there was the telephone - it worked fine for conferences, one-to-one, etc. without video and FROM ONE'S PRIVIATE/WORKING space. NOW, the push is to normalize video, penetrating into your "space", whether at home, in an office, car, etc.

It's got to be an intentional effect of the pandemic response.
