I’ll say what Chieftain may be understandably reluctant to blurt out… a bunch of amateurs playing at war (still getting people dead), with a bunch of old warn out stuff and childish ‘fighting’ with even more hamfisted propaganda efforts (more from Ukraine than Russia). But that’s just meanon Say’n.
Either way… but in context his reference was to the low-tech ‘cages’ on top intended to foil incoming rockets. Not particularly effective, although the tank crew might sleep a little better at night. I think that’s what he was talking about.
