Maricopa County Complies with Arizona State Senate Subpoena & Attorney General’s Request

Maricopa County has complied with the Arizona Senate’s subpoena ordering them to comply with the Arizona Attorney General’s requests.

The Gateway Pundit reported that Maricopa County received a new subpoena to testify before the Arizona Senate and answer questions regarding the delay in fulfilling requests by the AG. The County agreed to send a representative to answer questions.

It was just announced that Maricopa County finally fulfilled the Attorney General’s March 9th request for previously withheld information. The meeting with County representatives will no longer take place today at 4 pm.

STATE SENATE, PHOENIX – Senator Townsend has issued the following statement regarding Maricopa

County’s compliance with her legislative subpoena:

“I am pleased to report that Maricopa County has complied with the legislative subpoena commanding fulfillment of the Attorney General’s request dated March 9, 2022. The Government Committee scheduled for later today is therefore no longer necessary, as its intended objective has been achieved.

The County’s acknowledgement of its duty to timely account for election administration activity is a laudable victory in our pursuit of accountability to Arizona voters. While the Maricopa County Chairman defends the delay in their response to the Attorney General with indeterminate case law and timelines set by courts, our subpoena conveyed the will of Arizonans, from the branch most representative of the statewide electorate, that the County make election integrity requests a top priority, rather than place them in a public records queue.

While I am encouraged by Maricopa County’s evolving attitude towards transparency and compliance, I will be closely following the Attorney General’s ongoing investigation and will be following up with additional inquiries to answer further questions I have as Government Committee Chairman. I stand with my colleagues as we remain committed to engage again when it is necessary for the Legislature’s plenary authority over statewide elections to be exercised.”

The Arizona Attorney General has failed to hold these criminals accountable for stealing the election and refusing to comply with the ongoing investigation.

The Senate’s subpoena conveyed the will of Arizonans.

Senate Judiciary Committee delays vote on Ketanji Brown Jackson at GOP request

Republicans have focused on Jackson's sentencing record and comments about pedophilia.

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday delayed the vote on President Joe Biden's Supreme Court nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, to April 4 at the request of Senate Republicans.

Jackson needed majority approval to move forward in the committee with 11 Republicans and 11 Democrats. Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin, D-Ill., followed the GOP's request to allow a one-week delay in sending Jackson's nomination to the entire Senate.

"I joined in the request to hold over the nominees for one week," Ranking Judiciary Committee Member Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said Monday according to The Washington Examiner. "I'll have specific things to say about the nomination of Judge Jackson at that meeting, [one] week from today."

If Jackson's nomination is sent to the Senate as expected on April 4, the body will hold a full vote on her by April 11, before the senators begin their scheduled spring break, the outlet stated.

Jackson's confirmation hearings concluded Thursday following extensive questioning about her views. The 51-year-old judge would replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.

She has faced criticism from both sides of the aisle for appearing unprepared for questions about what defines a woman and fetal viability.

Republicans have focused on Jackson's sentencing record and comments about pedophilia.

As a Harvard Law student, Jackson criticized what she saw as "excessiveness" in punishments for sex offenders.

Transcripts reported by Just the News show Jackson disagreed with her own experts at the Sentencing Commission when she claimed child pornographers aren't pedophiles.

Jared Kushner plans to appear before Jan. 6 panel this week: report

Jared Kushner, son-in-law and onetime top aide to former President Donald Trump, is expected to voluntarily appear before the House select committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot sometime this week, according to a new report.

Kushner, 41, could appear before the panel virtually as early as Thursday, multiple sources familiar with the matter told ABC News. He was traveling back to Washington from Saudi Arabia on the day that Trump supporters broke into the Capitol and wreaked havoc, delaying the joint session counting the 2020 Electoral College votes by several hours.

The former president’s son-in-law did not go to the White House when he landed out of fear he would get into a “fight” with Trump, according to ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl’s recent book “Betrayal.”

Kushner’s wife, Ivanka — Trump’s eldest daughter — was with the president at the White House on Jan. 6 and has since been asked by the committee to cooperate voluntarily in their probe.

While in the Trump administration, Kushner acted as a leading negotiator of the Abraham Accords – a series of groundbreaking normalization agreements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Morocco and Bahrain. Last month, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work.

Text messages obtained by the committee last week indicate that Virginia “Ginni” Thomas – conservative activist and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas – suggested to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows that she had contacted Kushner about Sidney Powell, a Trump attorney who repeatedly pushed the 45th president’s claims about widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

The committee is also likely to request an interview with Ginni Thomas in the coming weeks.

Kushner did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment when contacted by phone.

News of Kushner’s expected testimony comes the same day that a federal judge ruled that Trump “more likely than not” tried to illegally obstruct Congress’ counting of the electoral votes by insisting that then-Vice President Mike Pence throw out the results in several contested states.

China Announces Biggest Lockdown, Covering 26 Million in Shanghai

China’s financial hub of Shanghai announced a two-phased lockdown on March 27, a day after city officials denied they planned a citywide lockdown amid a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Shanghai, one of China’s largest cities with 26 million people, had never implemented a full-scale citywide lockdown since the Chinese regime launched its zero-COVID playbook at the onset of the pandemic in early 2020.

But the current outbreak driven by the highly infectious Omicron variant of the virus appears to have put pressure on local officials to follow other Chinese cities, such as Changchun and Shenzhen, which in recent weeks have gone into lockdown, in imposing strict restrictions.

All residents east of the Huangpu River, which divides Shanghai, are being sealed in their homes from March 28 to April 1 to allow health workers to complete at least two rounds of mass testing, Shanghai authorities said in a notice released on March 27.

The lockdown and mass screenings will move to people living west of the river on April 1, and last until April 5, according to the notice.

During the lockdown, people aren’t allowed to leave their residential compounds, and public transportation will be suspended. Businesses and firms that aren’t considered essential have been ordered to shut.

Many communities within Shanghai already have been locked down for the past week, with their housing compounds blocked off with blue and yellow plastic barriers and residents required to submit to multiple tests for COVID-19.

However, Shanghai officials repeatedly had denied that the entire city would be locked down.

“We can’t [lock the city down],” Wu Fan, an expert member of the city’s pandemic task force, told reporters at a March 26 press briefing. “Our city plays an important role in the national economic and social development, and even affects the global economy.”

On March 23, Shanghai police detained two men for spreading “rumors” about a potential full-scale lockdown.

Uncertainty over COVID rules have sent Shanghai residents scrambling to stockpile food and other daily necessities, leaving shelves empty across the city.

Russia says West not welcome at peace talks Moscow’s Western partners “can’t be trusted anymore,” Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says

Russia is eager for a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine, but it won’t accept any Western mediation during its talks with Kiev, the Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

“We’re ready to give diplomacy a chance. That’s why we agreed to the talks, which are resuming in Istanbul,” Lavrov said during a video conference on Monday with the Serbian media. The discussions are scheduled to continue on Tuesday.

The Turkish government, which has good ties with both Russia and Ukraine, has put a great deal of effort into getting the two sides around the negotiating table, Lavrov explained. However, there's no need to include the EU or the US – which support Kiev in the conflict – in the peace process, according to the minister.

“There are many examples of times when the achievements of diplomacy were shattered by Western colleagues. They can’t be trusted anymore,” Lavrov opined.

“I wouldn’t want to see any shuttle diplomacy from our Western partners, because they’ve already done their ‘shuttling’ – in February 2014 in Ukraine and in February 2015 in Minsk,” he added.

US doubts Ukraine poisoning claim – media

American officials don’t believe symptoms of Ukrainian negotiators and Russian businessman Roman Abramovich look like poisoning, Reuters claims

Within hours of Bellingcat’s claim on Monday that Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich and two Ukrainian negotiators may have been poisoned by Moscow to stall peace talks in Ukraine, the US government has reportedly voiced doubt.

Intelligence indicates that the symptoms allegedly suffered by Abramovich and two Ukrainian officials involved in peace talks with Russia may be due to environmental factors instead, Reuters reported, citing a US government official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“The intelligence highly suggests this was environmental, not poisoning,” said the official, without elaborating.

Earlier in the day, the Wall Street Journal reported that the three men had “suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning” that included “red eyes, constant and painful tearing, and peeling skin on their faces and hands,” citing people familiar with the matter.

“Bellingcat can confirm that three members of the delegation attending the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia on the night of 3 to 4 March 2022 experienced symptoms consistent with poisoning with chemical weapons,” the UK-based outfit then said. Bellingcat’s Christo Grozev was behind the investigation, but could not get German experts to analyze the samples in time to show any traces of chemicals, according to the WSJ.

Others have been skeptical of the claim as well. Ukrainian presidential adviser Mikhail Podolyak, who is involved in the talks, told Reuters “there is a lot of speculation, various conspiracy theories,” while Rustem Umerov, allegedly one of the people affected, said people should not trust “unverified information” and that he was fine. Abramovich has yet to officially address the report.

The Russian oil magnate who moved to the UK and bought the football club Chelsea is rumored to be involved in a “back channel” between the Kremlin and Kiev to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but was placed on the Western sanctions list anyway.

Bellingcat has blamed Russia for the alleged poisonings of Sergey and Yulia Skripal in 2018 and blogger Alexey Navalny in 2020, both supposedly using the deadly “novichok” nerve toxin but not killing their targets. The UK-based “open-source intelligence” collective has ties to US, UK, and other NATO governments and was designated a “foreign agent” by Russia in 2020.

GOP Rep. Biggs: ‘We Have an Ongoing Lack of Trust’ with FBI

Monday on FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) addressed the House GOP’s push for more transparency from the FBI in its probe of politicians.

Biggs said he signed onto a letter asking the FBI to unredact information because “it was heavily redacted” and there were several search warrant and other procedural errors mentioned. He lamented that there is “an ongoing lack of trust” by Congress and the public when it comes to the FBI.

“We are asking specifically that they unredact the information they took out because … it was heavily redacted,” Biggs explained. “But the report did mention there were things like search warrant and other procedural errors. And we really need to get to the bottom of that. The other aspect to it, Ainsley, is that Christopher Wray was before Congress and testified that they always follow these predicates and these rules. Well, we need to find out if they have actually corrected these, who was targeted, why they were targeted, and how these errors might have been impacted these investigations. ”

“My biggest concern is that we have an ongoing lack of trust by not just members of Congress but the public with the police apparatus of the United States government, especially the FBI,” he added.

New Jersey Middle School Forced 12 yr Olds to Learn About Transgender Hormone Therapy without Parental Consent

As part of a social studies class, a New Jersey public middle school forced students to watch a video about a transgender man's hormone treatment—all without notifying parents.

The video, "Ten Years on Testosterone," details the transition of LGBT activist Aydian Dowling through hormone injections. Teachers and administrators at Pearl R. Miller Middle School in Kinnelon, N.J., did not notify parents about the lesson, which included slideshows with definitions of different gender ideologies, beforehand.

"You can build up the courage to stand up for yourself in a way that this is what you want to do with your life," Dowling says in the video after injecting testosterone.

Dowling later spoke at a school-wide assembly as part of the school's "Stories Of Adversity & Resilience Program," about which administrators notified parents ahead of time, giving them the option to opt out their children. Concerned parents flocked to a school board meeting last Thursday, where board members admitted parents should have similarly been informed about the hormone therapy video.

"I felt as if I was blindsided," Loren Malfitano, whose two sons were shown the video, told the Washington Free Beacon. "They're learning about this ideology of gender before they even have classes on the actual biologies of males and females."

The school superintendent did not respond to a request for comment.

The tension over sex education in New Jersey is one of many examples across the country where concerned parents battle public schools over radical gender and sexuality curricula. Florida received national attention in March after the state legislature passed a bill that bans lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity in K-3 classrooms.

New Jersey is set to enact updated health standards in September pushed by Democratic governor Phil Murphy that teach second-graders about genitalia, reproduction, and "gender expression." Fifth-graders will be required to define masturbation and differentiate between sexual orientation and gender identity, and eighth-graders will have to define gender identity, gender expression, vaginal sex, oral sex, and anal sex. The governor-appointed New Jersey Board of Education adopted the standards in 2020.

Planned Parenthood praised the state's plan, which the group noted aligns with the updated National Sex Education Standards. These national standards, which were written by three advocacy groups that rake in tens of millions of dollars from the CDC and liberal donors, suggest that elementary students should be taught about hormone blockers.

The Center for Garden State Families, a nonprofit that aims to fight back against progressive gender curricula in schools, first spread the news of the hormone treatment video shown to middle schoolers. Josh Aikens, a father of 6- and 2-year-old sons, has pushed back against radical sex education standards as a school board member in nearby Lafayette, N.J., saying parents nationwide need to be involved in what their children are learning.

"I don't need them to learn about sex," Aikens told the Free Beacon in regards to his children. "The communities should determine what is taught in schools because they're paying the bills for it."
