Competitive sports will wither and die once fans, players, and coaches see the real cost taken by the actions of thr 'front office'. Front does not mean 'at the head of", but 'a disguised facade'.

It's also the spread of more negativity than good. 1 out of 100 teams and their fans get to experience euphoria, while everyone else swallows throat-lumps of loss. Not a good investment, especially when that 99% put all hopes and dreams into other's performance.
Thar's some co-operation! Fans of the losing team will shun and the winning ones won't care to add another among their ranks. Best to do the hat-switch with a seat switch as well.
