It would make sense to me that if the clock was able to be interpreted correctly, then the element of surprise would no longer be valid! The bad guys could just use it to front run the moves of the good guys!

So, my conclusion is: Q is not stupid. No way they are giving out information that alludes to their moves! Plain and simple!
