I have never seen the problem. God created the world, therefor he created man (first monkey).
Also, as someone said long ago, can´t remember which, that if you were to explain the creation of the world/Earth in scientific terms to people living 2000 years ago, you couldn´t change much of the genesis story, including the word for 'day' could also mean a time period, however long.
