In Vancouver, BC if a drug addict goes too overboard the police arrest them and the doctors give them a 'Schizo' vaccine shot. I've personally seen it before/after behavior and it actually fixes them to the point where they're actually tame and reasonable to talk to. Not sure the exact name of that vaccine but if the addict doesn't take it on schedule they go to jail. Shoplifting is still rampant but the gentrification is leading to the addicts eventual demise anyways since fentanyl laced drugs are taking addicts out 1 by 1. The ones that are still going into their 50s are genetic superfreaks. I've seen addicts sleep right on the concrete during winter.
What do you do about otherwise? Not sure, most homeless are way too far gone due to childhood trauma. The ones who make it out found Jesus. I believe the actual statistics according to Dr. Gabor Mate is a 5% rate of escaping addiction and trauma. I am on and off homeless so I've been on the frontlines meself and met a lot of these people.
