This reminds me of one of the funniest things that ever happened to this anon when still in grade school. Had a cousin my age who lived a couple miles out of the very small country town I lived in. Back in those days we had snow covered ground for about 3 months a year. Anyway, there was a farm across the winding 2 lane country road that had a steep hill. I was spending the night. We had those fiber glass discs and we had a good time. We built a ski jump, finished it when it was getting dark.
It was warm, over 32 degrees so building the jump was easy, we built a big one, at least 4 feet high. Anyway, the surface of the deep snow cover melted and during the night the temp. dropped and put a sheet of ice on top of the snow. Me, my cousin and his 1-2 year old younger brother showed up at the hill the next morning.
My cousin was a bully. Me and his little brother pretty much laughed at him. But we'd run away when we pissed him off. So there the 3 of us were, at the top of the hill, a hill with an ice top that you had to stamp your boot heels into to break. Me and my younger cousin were hesitating and it pissed off my same aged cousin. He said (today, hold my beer), got on his plastic disc and down he flew. He must have got 10 feet of air after the jump, then flew threw through the flat bottom, way farther than we had ever gone, and still going at full speed ran square into a fence post, knocking himself out cold. We walked down and he was still out.
He finally woke up and didn't learn a damned thing. Stayed a bully.
