In honor of World Autism Awareness Day, I'd like to know what all of your special interests are. You can even throw in a little factoid or two so I can learn something new. Much love my fellow autists.

Damn, the vibe is shitty and slow this bread. Some people can't help that they were born with autism. My son didn't receive any vaccines the first 6 years of his life and he still had it. He's smart. He just directs it at shit he cares about and was late to talk. He knows all of the scientific names for dinosaurs but sometimes can't answer questions properly. My brother has it and he's on his way to becoming an aeronautical engineer. I have it and I study botany and history. There's so many smart fucking people who have autism and have the greater good of humanity in their hearts. It's not just a bunch of non-thinking, drooling people who sit in a corner and bang legos on their heads all day. I feel for those in that condition and advocate for their justice but if people want to celebrate being neurodivergent, I don't see the issue.

He wasn't injected with absolutely anything from delivery to age six. I did not allow it. I knew about the vaccine/autism anomaly and so did our pediatrician. He was still diagnosed at 5.

There were no other indicators in his behavior that alluded to autism other than delayed speech. Even then, my family informed me that it was commonplace for the males in our family. They began talking late (3/4yrs) and by high school they only took a pencil to class because their photographic memory was enough to pass tests and "learn." He ate many things until two years when he got picky but still ate healthy. We supplemented with fruit/veggie smoothies daily. I read The Einstein Syndrome by Thomas Sowell and it seems to suit our family well enough.

Nail my ass to the wall if you want, but saying shit like messed up blood, pure blood, it should be on the conscious of the person with bad blood, second baby may not have the problem, is pretty insensitive. Especially when at least anecdotally, I have shown the issue appears to be genetic. Everyone who presented with any issue is doing fine if not better than other family members. I wasn't asking for solutions or looking for whose fault it is. In my original statement, I was simply stating those who want to celebrate their neurodiversity should. There are many intelligent historical people who had neurodivergent tendencies and their work has gone on to change the world. It's nothing to be ashamed of and I'll gladly die on that hill.
