My mistake is probably the same as boomers was, and all other asleep people; because they are good people they can't comprehend of evil. They believed that there might be only a few corrupt people in government, but that most have the best interest of everyone at heart. And that if something were really wrong, other good people in government would stop it. That's what the three branches are for; it was the job of their elected to police each other and protect the public. But so much of it was done slowly and in secret its almost too late. That's why I can't fault boomers since they had 0 reason to believe they were being lied to.
