It wouldn't make the aircraft invisable to ARTCC. They would still be able to "paint" the aircraft. Company designation, flt number, altitude, descending, climbing would all be gone. Direction of flight could still be observed.

Since 9/11 that triggers ARTCC informing the Air National Guard in that sector among many other agencies, that they have a unknown situation with this particular aircraft, no comms, no transponder etc………that would facilitate the launching of several fighter jets to go up and confront the aircraft. If the Fighter Jets were unable to communicate with the aircraft, there are certain manuvers that the Fighter Jet will perform to signal and you had BETTER respond to those manuvers. Push come to shove and depending on were that aircraft is etc…… you could get your fucking ass shot out of the sky. That's what would happen in that scenario.

In a nutshell, pretty much. I always hand flew the aircraft below 10k in and out of the terminal area. Hand shot low approaches etc……..my personal preference. Other guys, yeam 1000' "autopilot on". I useually engaged it out of 10k.

Believe me when I say that conversation in the cockpit happens every day. Bitching about fucktard liberals. Someone pulled some shit at the gate and he had to deal with it.
