Since a few more 9/11 memes were dropped last thread, and the seemingly inevitable Dr. Judy Wood debate cropped up, I thought I'd comment.
There is an abundance of evidence that DEWs were used to bring the towers down. Dustification is one of the best ways to describe what it looks like occurred. Molecular dissassociation, the Hutchison effect–look into it if you haven't already.
HOWEVER, there's also plenty of evidence that explosives (likely thermitic along with BB18 charges) were used. There's video footage of what sounds like explosions going off before the collapse, along with plenty witness testimony. You even have what looks like giant sparks being sprayed from a hidden grinding wheel pouring off the side of the building before the collapse, which looks quite similar to burning thermite.
Using a combination of explosives and DEWs makes sense from a logistical standpoint. Had only explosives been used, there would have been massive amounts of falling rubble that would have rained down below, causing massive collateral damage, rupturing pipes and flooding the area. Had only DEWs been used, the tower likely wouldn't have collapsed at free fall speeds, and the top-down molecular dissassocation process without rapid collapse probably would have looked pretty anomalous–perhaps something akin to candle burning.
So, as is the case with many compelling competing hypotheses, I say, why not both?
