Republican Candidate in Special Election Wins Bigly

 

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — It was a special early-April election day in Luzerne County.

 

The seat vacated by now Judge Tarah Toohil was up for grabs.

 

Republican Robert Schnee, Democrat Amilcar Arroyo, and Liberation Paul Cwalina were on the ballot, and polls in the district reported low turnout all day long.

 

Election officials from Conyngham Borough say they have more than 1,400 registered voters, but the turnout was in the 200s

Early results in for special election to fill California's 22nd Congressional District

 

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – Voters in parts of Fresno and Tulare counties headed to the polls Tuesday for the special election to fill California's 22nd Congressional District, formerly held by Devin Nunes.

 

As of 10:00 Tuesday night, \

-Republican Connie Conway leads the way with 21,126 votes (34.2%).

-Democrat Lourin Hubbard sits in second place with 12,435 votes (20.1%).

-Democrat Eric Garcia, Republican Matt Stoll, Republican Michael Maher and Republican Elizabeth Heng round out the rest of the voting in that order.

 

A candidate needs more than 50% of the vote to win. If none of them get a majority, then the top two will go to a runoff election that coincides with the state's primary election on June 7.
