The only conclusion any parent can come to is the Teachers, schools and administrators are sick and don't give a fuck what parents want their children taught. They are sick. Everyone should take their children out of schools for a month, and sign petitions for schools to stop this evil.

There is this talking point about the Florida law that saws "someone tried to moderate the law by making it only about sexual activity, but the bigots shot that down" Yes, and that was the right call. Here is why /1 https://reason.com/2022/04/01/florida-sued-by-activists-students-parents-and-teachers-over-lgbt-school-censorship-bill/

I have a friend whose 1st grader was being taught non-binary gender ideology and meeting transexuals in the classroom to talk to these 7 & 8 year old kids about transitioning She complained and said that the school had a policy against sexual topics for kids that young /2

The response she got from the school is that gender isn't sexso the ban against discussing sexual topics with small children didn't apply. They told her that gender is about identity, so it's appropriate for all ages. /3

That is why the law is written the way it is. I really want people who argue this line to just admit this. I wish

@SShackford

would have let his readers know why that wording was rejected. It's not a mystery, it is for a recognizable reason. /4

There is this implication that the Florida law can only the be the result of hatred and bigotry, but you have to pretend you don't know what they authors are trying to do They're trying to stop this. Does a ban on discussing "sexual activity" stop this? No, it does not /5

The end result is we get these articles pretending to be news that are either written in ignorance (which is a problem that can be resolved) or written intentionally leaving out the important context (which is a problem of the heart) That's people lose trust in reporters /6

Again, you can be against this law, that's a fine and reasonable position But I really want to know how you plan to solve this problem. It's a real problem and parents hate it. Your objection to this law must come with a better solution for parents or it is unserious.
