Remember when Joe Biden repeatedly told us he has never engaged in any conversations with Hunter about his son’s international business dealings?

It turns out “The Big Guy” wrote a college recommendation letter for the son of Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partner, according to emails exclusively obtained by Fox Digital.

The emails were found on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop from hell.

Joe Biden’s recommendation letter for the Chinese businessman’s son was sent directly to Brown University’s president, Fox News reported.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates told Fox News: “We don’t comment on the laptop.”

Fox News Digital obtained emails between Hunter Biden and his business associates involved in his firm Rosemont Seneca’s joint venture with Chinese investment firms Bohai Capital and BHR.

Hunter held a 10% stake in BHR as recently as last year, the White House previously acknowledged. Hunter’s attorney told the New York Times in November that he had since divested.

In an email dated Jan. 3, 2017, and sent to Hunter Biden and his business associates Devon Archer and Jim Bulger, CEO of BHR Jonathan Li writes:

“Gentlmen[sic], please find the attached resume of my son, Chris Li. He is applying the following colleges for this year,” Li writes, listing Brown University, Cornell University, and New York University.

Li goes on to attach an “updated version” of his son’s “CV” in a subsequent email.

Several weeks later, on Feb. 18, 2017, Eric Schwerin, who served as president of Rosemont Seneca, replied to Li.

“Jonathan, Hunter asked me to send you a copy of the recommendation letter that he asked his father to write on behalf of Christopher for Brown University,” Schwerin wrote.

“The original is being FedExed to Dr. Paxson directly at Brown,” Schwerin wrote. “It should be there by Tuesday at the latest (given Monday is a holiday here in the U.S.). Let us know if you have any questions. Best, Eric.”

Dr. Christina Paxson is the president of Brown University.

Li replied: “Hi Eric, Just see the email. It is just great! Thank you very much!”

“And Hunter, thank you very much too,” Li continued. “All the best to you all.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday insisted that Joe Biden has NEVER spoken to his son Hunter about his overseas business dealings.

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked Psaki: “The President has said that he never spoke to his son about his overseas business dealings. Is that still the case?”

“Yes!” Psaki said.

Report Unveils Russia Is Behind Green Energy Propaganda – “Russian Dark Money Funded Green Groups in the West”

Russia is behind much of the propaganda in the West that supports ‘green energy’ and banning fracking. This enables Russia’s dominance in the energy sector.

It is not difficult to see that certain countries would be happy to see the US and European countries step away from fracking and energy independence. Saudi Arabia, Russia, Venezuela and other oil producers are happy to see the US energy-dependent as they are now. The best way to destroy America’s energy independence was to find corrupt politicians who were open to altering this matter. Of course, donations and dark money were likely part of the equation. This and the propaganda in the public realm to help soften the insanity of energy dependence is the strategy for Russia and likely other countries and corrupt politicians.

President Trump shattered the belief that the US had to be energy-dependent and was unable to be independent. Under his administration, the US was energy independent for the first time in decades. Now the Biden gang is destroying the policy of energy independence.

A report at the Gatestone Institute discusses Russia’s influence on energy policies in the West. The article started off by mentioning some recent events:

Documents show disingenuous American manipulation in order to maintain hegemony

Declassified files released by the US National Security Archive reveal the extent of paranoid and aggressive American backroom bullying in negotiations over the Kyoto Protocol, a historic 1990s agreement that obliged almost every country in the world to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in an attempt to thwart the onset of global warming.

In particular, Washington sought to ensure the Pentagon was exempt from emissions targets. This desire was understandable – after all, research by Durham and Lancaster University published in 2019 revealed the US military is “one of the largest climate polluters in history, consuming more liquid fuels and emitting more CO2 than most countries.” If it was a nation state, it would be the world’s 47th largest greenhouse gas emitter.

Still, President Joe Biden has declared climate change to be the biggest threat to national security, although a cynic might suggest the real fear is that environmental destruction could mean that the US defense budget – $768 billion this year alone – might be scaled back slightly. That was certainly the case in the leadup to the Protocol’s signing in December 1997.

A confidential State Department cable from late 1997 advised UN Ambassador Mark Hambley to seek a “national security exemption relating to military activities that are directly in support of peacekeeping,” despite acknowledging the Federal government and its “defense installations and training operations” were the “single biggest user of energy” by the US.

A 2007 Brookings Institution paper surmised that the Pentagon was responsible for 93% of all US government fuel consumption. Yet, numerous documents included in the National Security Archive tranche show US officials, in particular Bill Clinton, were briefed that the true figure was a mere fraction of this. This false picture was then served up to the media, lawmakers, and the public in justifying the Pentagon emission exemption.

For example, in a March 1998 briefing, key White House advisers told the Oval Office resident that the Department of Defense accounts for just 1.4% of total carbon emissions, with military operations and training contributing just 0.8%. Meanwhile, a State Department paper two months earlier challenging domestic criticisms of the Protocol declared US military emissions “amount to less than one-half of one percent of total US greenhouse gas emissions.”

These figures are completely absurd, given the DOD was using around 30,000 gigawatt hours of electricity annually in 2006, and 46 billion gallons of fuel on average each year at the time of the study – more than double all US civilian airlines from 2004 to 2020.

Clearly, it is impossible to reconcile a commitment to seriously tackling greenhouse gas emissions with a determination to maintain an expansive globe-spanning network of trucks, planes, and ships. This contradiction-in-terms is summed up neatly in a document outlining US approaches to Russia on establishing a national security sidestep in the Kyoto Protocol.

“Our delegation would appreciate the support of all members of this body in examining how we can protect world peace while preserving our planet through some kind of national security or national emergency provision,” officials stated on October 31, 1997. “We have an obligation to the world community, our individual nations, and ultimately to the men and women who serve in our military forces to carefully consider how we address military operations in this Protocol.”

Pandemic of The Vaccinated: The Most Vaccine Compliant Areas of the US Experience a Significantly Higher Rate of Covid Infections Than the Least Vaccinated Areas

An analysis of CDC data by The Epoch Times reveals that the most vaccinated areas of the United States are experiencing the highest numbers of covid cases – and it’s not just by a little bit. The infection rate is significantly higher than in the areas where vaccine compliance is lowest.

In other words – the data indicates that, at best, the vaccines don’t work; and at worst, they are contributing to the spread of the virus.

According to The Epoch Times analysis, the Covid infection rate in US counties that have a vaccination rate of 62-95% is 23% higher than the Counties that have a vaccination rate of just 11-40%.

“The 500 counties where 62 to 95 percent of the population has been vaccinated detected more than 75 cases per 100,000 residents on average in the past week. Meanwhile, the 500 counties where 11 to 40 percent of the population has been vaccinated averaged about 58 cases per 100,000 residents.”

The data showed that the least vaccinated counties tended to be on the smaller side, with an average population of around 20,000 – much less than the 330,000 average among the most vaccinated counties.

This massive difference in size could lead some to believe that this is what explains the higher infection rate – more people coming and going, more transmission, etc.

However, the same jump in Covid cases was seen even when the population was factored in as part of the analysis. In fact, the increase was even more pronounced when population was controlled for.

In counties with a population of over 1 million people, the case rate was 27% higher 10 most vaccinated counties, when compared to the 10 least.

And it doesn’t stop there. When broken down by counties with a population of 200,000-500,000 – again looking at the 10 most and least vaccinated – the increase doubles to 55%.

Even more unbelievably, US Counties with 100,000-200,000 covid cases were a whopping 200% higher, under the same comparison.

The difference was more than 200 percent for counties with populations of 100,000 to 200,000.

Washington Post Admits NATO Wants to Prolong War in Ukraine

“It’s better for the Ukrainians to keep fighting.”

In an article about the potential for a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, the Washington Post admits that some within NATO want to prolong the war for as long as possible.

The admission is contained in a piece titled ‘NATO says Ukraine to decide on peace deal with Russia — within limits’.

“Even a Ukrainian vow not to join NATO — a concession that Zelensky has floated publicly — could be a concern to some neighbors. That leads to an awkward reality: For some in NATO, it’s better for the Ukrainians to keep fighting, and dying, than to achieve a peace that comes too early or at too high a cost to Kyiv and the rest of Europe,” states the article.

“There is an unfortunate dilemma. The problem is that if it ends now, there is a kind of time for Russia to regroup, and it will restart, under this or another pretext.”

NATO wants the war to continue for as long as possible so Russia can be drained and isolated, while the media is addicted to the clicks and ratings it brings.

The article also reveals how Zelensky wants a “legally binding security guarantees from the United States and others to defend it if it were attacked,” something that is totally delusional.

As Chris Menahan notes, a peace deal looked possible around a month ago when Vladimir Putin vowed to end the war “if Ukraine agreed to recognize Crimea, accept Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states, swear off joining NATO and disarm.”

However, despite being told by Israel to accept the deal, President Zelensky refrained from doing so immediately after the U.S. decided to sent $14 billion dollars in aid, an act that prolonged the war.

“(Zelensky) should have taken Putin’s deal as Bennet told him to four weeks ago,” writes Menahan. “Instead, he has insisted on sticking with his strategy of forcing all men aged 18 to 60 to take up arms and become enemy combatants so he could use their deaths as atrocity propaganda to con NATO into the war.”

US Warns India Faces 'Significant Long-Term Costs' If It Aligns With Russia

Given that a handful of countries that rank among the top largest economies in the world have thus far been reluctant to firmly condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine, this could prove the significant monkey wrench in US-EU plans to severely isolate and wreak havoc on global Russian exports.

Among these include the obvious - China, but also there's India, the UAE, Brazil and Indonesia. India for example - standing just behind the UK as the 6th largest economy - remains the the single largest buyer of Russian weapons. India is also reportedly seeking more discounted Russian oil, in what looks to be a potential move away from Saudi crude.

In early March, The New York Times noted that India was among those countries dependent on many Russian imports that's attempting to "stay above the fray". "When India abstained from a United Nations vote and the chorus of Western condemnation against the Ukraine invasion, it appeared to be taking sides: offering tacit support for President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia," the Times emphasized previously.

And now Washington is putting New Delhi on notice that it faces 'significant costs' should it become aligned with Russia, and as a major export destination allowing Putin to side-step sanctions effects.

The Biden administraiton's Director of the National Economic Council of the United States Brian Deese has said the US remains "disappointed" with aspects of the Indian government's reaction to the Ukraine crisis.

"There are certainly areas where we have been disappointed by both China and India’s decisions, in the context of the invasion," he said a Wednesday event in D.C.

He was cited as saying in Bloomberg:

The US has told India that the consequences of a “more explicit strategic alignment” with Moscow would be “significant and long-term,” he said.

India has so far rejected falling in line with the West's anti-Russia sanctions, instead continuing to import Russian oil, which remains at an estimated 2% of its total oil imports.

China In First Response To Bucha Killings Tells West "Avoid Unfounded Accusations"

Multiple days following Kiev alleging mass killings of civilians committed by Russian forces in the Ukrainian town of Bucha which has been driving headlines in the West, China has weighed in for the first time, also as the EU and US ratchet sanctions on Moscow over what they say are clear war crimes.

China's ambassador to the United Nations Ambassador Zhang Jun said on Tuesday that the reports and images coming out of Bucha are "very disturbing", but stressed that any accusations against Russian forces must be independently verified and based firmly in facts.

"Attacks against civilians are unacceptable and should not occur," the ambassador said. "The reports and images of civilian deaths in Bucha are deeply disturbing."

But he added a key caveat while stopping short of condemning Moscow or Vladimir Putin, stressing that "circumstances and specific causes of the incident should be verified and established" and that "all sides should exercise restraint and avoid unfounded accusations."

Speaking at a Security Council meeting, Ambassador Zhang Jun repeated Beijing's stance that sanctions are not effective in solving the Ukraine crisis but instead they accelerate the economic spillover. He also called the United States, NATO and the European Union to engage in a dialogue with Russia.

Chinese state-run media suggested what's widely being referred to as the 'Bucha massacre' in which at least 300 civilians died is a manufactured event meant to paint Russia into a corner. "An editorial in Global Times, the nationalist tabloid affiliated with party mouthpiece People’s Daily, said the incident should not be used as a pretext for inflaming the situation," SCMP notes.

Meanwhile the European Union has implied that Beijing is being tone deaf on the Ukraine issue, with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell characterizing the latest EU summit with Xi Jinping as a "deaf dialogue".

"China wanted to set aside our difference on Ukraine," he said of last week's virtual summit. "They didn't want to talk about Ukraine. They didn't want to talk about human rights and other issues, and instead focused on the positive things."

China's foreign ministry on Wednesday accused Washington of "fanning the flames" in Ukraine…

The clear allegation out of Brussels is that Beijing is showing little active interest in ending the war in Ukraine. Recently European leaders have been urging Beijing to intervene diplomatically to convince Putin to halt the invasion, which is now focused on securing Ukraine's eastern regions.

Freedom Caucus Endorses Cheney, McCarthy-Backed Candidate in PA

The House Freedom Caucus has endorsed a failed GOP establishment candidate backed by Liz Cheney and Kevin McCarthy for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th District, throwing their support behind former Mitt Romney staffer Jim Bognet, who lost the race for the same seat in 2020.

Bognet, a former Mitt Romney and John McCain staffer who has had his congressional ambitions backed by Liz Cheney and Kevin McCarthy, lost the 2020 race for the 8th District seat to Democrat Rep. Matt Cartwright. Back then, Bognet was the clear establishment candidate in a wide GOP primary field and used a pro-establishment PAC run by his family and friends to launch attacks on his opponents. The attacks created a major divide between Bognet and the grassroots voters who back President Trump, a group he already struggled to connect with thanks to his reputation as a DC insider.

As voters in the 8th District have learned, before his run for Congress, Bognet spent virtually his entire adult life inside the GOP and uni-party establishment, even helping to launch the political career of anti-Trump Californian Arnold Schwarzenegger, a prominent supporter of COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates. More recently, Bognet worked at a Democrat-founded lobbying firm, The Glover Park Group, and despite his claims of being a Trump supporter, Bognet didn’t even vote in the 2016 Presidential Election as the Trump movement triumphed over Hillary Clinton and the political establishment.

Though the Freedom Caucus claims to be anti-establishment, they endorsed Jim Bognet through their House Freedom Fund, saying in a fundraising email that he “will help strengthen the House Freedom Caucus and fight for America’s future,” making no mention of his deep establishment ties as he tries to re-invent himself. The Freedom Caucus email even attacks Bognet’s truly grassroots primary race opponent, former Hazleton Mayor Mike Marsicano, an ardent supporter of President Trump who used to be a working-class Democrat and is running in the primary as an America First alternative to the McCarthy/Cheney-backed Bognet.

“Jim Bognet is running against a former Democrat in the Republican Primary,” the Freedom Caucus email reads, painting Marsicano as if he’s the one with a record he’s trying to hide, like Bognet himself is. Jim Bognet “needs your urgent support,” the email continued, stressing that the GOP’s chances of victory have gone up thanks to a redrawn map that appears to lean right.

The email doesn’t once mention Kevin McCarthy or Liz Cheney’s support of Jim Bognet, despite him frequently boasting of his McCarthy backing on his campaign social media accounts. Ironically, while 8th District locals have come to refer to Bognet as “Beltway” Jim Bognet, the Freedom Caucus email includes a quote from Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, who has come under increasing scrutiny for his quiet establishment ties, claiming that “The House Freedom Fund helps grassroots candidates get the financial support they need to compete with establishment candidates.”

New York judge kills himself weeks after authorities raided his home

A veteran New York state judge killed himself less than two weeks after his home was raided by investigators, according to one of his attorneys.

John Michalski, an acting justice on the Erie County Supreme Court, died by suicide Tuesday at his Amherst home, where federal and state law enforcement officers had executed a search warrant 12 days earlier, the Buffalo News reported. He was 61.

“It’s heartbreaking,” defense attorney Terrence Connors told the newspaper. “He was such a good guy. This just didn’t have to happen.”

Michalski, who was appointed to the New York Court of Claims, and as an acting Supreme Court justice in 2006, had been eyed by investigators for years, but no criminal charges were ever filed against him. His looming legal woes seemed to be “manageable,” Connors told the newspaper.

The judge’s death came a little over a year after he was struck by a slow-moving freight train in Depew, in what was believed to be a suicide attempt. He suffered a serious leg injury, but survived.

Days after the February 2021 incident, Michalski was questioned by federal agents about his friendship with Peter Gerace Jr., the owner of a strip club in Cheektowaga and a former client, the Buffalo News reported.

Michalski was injured by the freight train on the same day Gerace was charged with several felonies, including drug and sex trafficking, as well as bribing a federal agent. Gerace denies the allegations, according to the newspaper.

Years earlier, Michalski was eyed by the feds as investigators probed Gerace and a retired Drug Enforcement Administration agent, Joseph Bongiovanni, in June 2019.

The DEA agent told investigators Gerace was pals with Michalski. Their friendship dates back two decades, attorney Anthony Lana, who was also representing the judge, told the Buffalo News.

Michalski wrote a letter to William Sketny, a federal judge in New York, in 2006 asking for leniency on behalf of Gerace, who was awaiting sentencing for a felony wire fraud conviction. He described Gerace as a client and a friend.

Sketny cut Gerace a slight break, giving him five months in prison when federal sentencing guidelines suggested anywhere from eight to 12 months, according to the newspaper.

FBI agents continued probing Michalski’s connection to Gerace following the train incident — and were seeking evidence of tax crimes during the March 24 raid at his home, two government sources told the Buffalo News.

Investigators seized documents connected to a small online business operated by Michalski’s wife, Susan, Lana told the Buffalo News.

Michalski’s caseload was transferred one day after the raid and no cases were to be assigned to him “until further notice,” according to the State Office of Courts Administration. He had returned to the bench in January after taking leave following the train incident.

The judge was also the subject of an investigation by the state Attorney General’s Office connected to possible corruption, one source familiar with the matter told the New York Times. No charges had been filed against him in the inquiry, the newspaper reported.

Michalski is survived by his wife and four children.

Kyle Rittenhouse blasts Biden for turning ‘blind eye’ to Hunter dealings

Kyle Rittenhouse, the Illinois teen who beat homicide charges after killing two people during unrest in Kenosha, Wis., in the summer of 2020, has slammed President Biden for turning a “blind eye” to his son Hunter’s business dealings.

“Let me get this straight, Joe Biden can turn a blind eye to the misconduct of his own son, but defames me for defending myself?!” the 19-year-old tweeted Tuesday.

“The more I read, the more I shake my head.”

Rittenhouse’s comments come off the back of a trail of negative media coverage scrutinizing Hunter Biden’s dealings and alleged misconduct — including reports by the Washington Post and New York Times that belatedly verified emails from the infamous laptop first reported on by The Post in 2020.

The first son also recently paid a tax bill of more than $1 million to avoid prosecution, according to the Times. The back taxes applied to a financial windfall Hunter Biden reaped from countries when his father was vice president.

Rittenhouse has previously vowed to sue President Biden for referring to him as a white supremacist after his arrest over the shootings that killed two men and wounded a third on Aug. 25, 2020, in Kenosha.

After Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges following his trial last November, the teen voiced plans to file lawsuits against liberal media outlets and other high-profile personalities, including LeBron James and Whoopi Goldberg, for spreading “lies” about him.

Rittenhouse said last week that he has repeatedly reached out to Biden for a sit-down meeting — but claims he’s been ignored.

“I reached out to Joe Biden several times — crickets, nothing,” Rittenhouse told “The Jenna Ellis Show” podcast. “He still hasn’t replied. So it just shows how much of a man he is to not sit down and talk.”

The revelation about the WHO’s selection process comes from a Vanity Fair report detailing the mishaps and misconduct of Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, which received millions in taxpayer funds from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Anthony Fauci to support research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“U.S. officials and at least one of Daszak’s former colleagues were stunned when, in November 2020, the WHO announced the names of 11 international experts assigned to a fact-finding mission to China to investigate COVID-19’s origins. Biden Administration Stops Shipments of COVID-19 Treatment to All States

The U.S. government on April 5 immediately halted all shipments of a COVID-19 treatment to states and ordered health care providers not to use the drug.

The actions were taken because of the increasing prevalence of BA.2, a subvariant of Omicron, which is itself a variant of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, also known as SARS-CoV-2, the virus causes COVID-19.

Data so far indicate that the drug, a monoclonal antibody called sotrovimab, does not work against BA.2, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Regulators initially told doctors in eight states on March 27 to stop administering sotrovimab to COVID-19 patients. Several days later, the FDA expanded the action, which essentially revokes the emergency use authorization granted in 2021, to 14 additional states.

With Tuesday’s move, the monoclonal “is no longer authorized to treat COVID-19 in any U.S. region due to increases in the proportion of COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron BA.2 subvariant,” the FDA said in a statement.

The regulator is relying on estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which pegs BA.2 as causing the majority of COVID-19 cases in all regions of the country.

Despite recent advances in privacy measures that have disrupted online tracking, new highly effective tracking methods have been deployed by the Masters of the Universe, who have grown used to the megabillions brought in by surveillance capitalism.

In an article titled “You’re Still Being Tracked on the Internet, Just in a Different Way,” the New York Times reports that the online advertising industry was disrupted last year when Apple introduced its App Tracking Transparency feature that alerted users when apps were tracking them and allowed them to deny access to their online activity.

But less than a year later, online advertising has adapted to the changes and a new type of internet tracking has begun taking hold. The New York Times writes:

For years, digital businesses relied on what is known as “third party” tracking. Companies such as Facebook and Google deployed technology to trail people everywhere they went online. If someone scrolled through Instagram and then browsed an online shoe store, marketers could use that information to target footwear ads to that person and reap a sale.

Now tracking has shifted to what is known as “first party” tracking. With this method, people are not being trailed from app to app or site to site. But companies are still gathering information on what people are doing on their specific site or app, with users’ consent. This kind of tracking, which companies have practiced for years, is growing.

In other words, Google is accumulating data on its own users’ search queries, location data and contact information. Pinterest is doing the same with its users on its site and app, while TikTok is gathering information on the people who are on its app.

This has already caused a shift in the online advertising marketplace, with many small businesses turning away from platforms that rely on third-party data like Facebook and Instagram, and spending their marketing budgets with companies using first-party information, like Google and Amazon.

The daughter of a Mexican border city politician is currently in U.S. custody awaiting trial after authorities reportedly found one brick of cocaine in her vehicle.

This week, Nallely Villarreal went before U.S, Magistrate Judge Ignacio Torteya for a detention hearing where he granted her release upon the posting of a $50,000 bond, court documents revealed. Villarreal is expected to be released shortly.

The case against Villarreal began on March 12, when a Texas state trooper pulled her over for running a stoplight in Brownsville, court documents revealed. The trooper noted that Villarreal appeared very nervous during the stop and asked for permission to search the vehicle. The trooper reportedly found a cocaine brick weighing a little over a kilogram under the driver’s seat.

During a subsequent interview with U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, Villarreal told authorities that she was supposed to drive to a local gas station for payment.

Villarreal is the daughter of Matamoros City Commissioner Rosy Perez and represents Mexico’s ruling party, MORENA. The arrest of her daughter caused controversy due to Perez’s high profile. The politician has been an ardent supporter of MORENA and is a close ally of some top politicians in Mexico.

In a social media post, Perez advocated for her daughter’s innocence, claiming “nobody is guilty unless proven otherwise.” In that same post, Perez tried to hint about the scandal caused by her daughter by claiming that “It is not possible to speak and give news without the support of something that is unknown … to do so would be to give false information.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that post-war Ukraine will be like a “big Israel” and won’t be “liberal” like Europe.

“Ukraine will definitely not be what we wanted it to be from the beginning. It is impossible. Absolutely liberal, European — it will not be like that. It [Ukraine] will definitely come from the strength of every house, every building, every person,” Zelensky said. “We will become a ‘big Israel’ with its own face.”

The Ukrainian leader said he expects society to be highly militarized. “We will not be surprised if we have representatives of the Armed Forces or the National Guard in cinemas, supermarkets, and people with weapons. I am confident that the question of security will be the issue number one for the next 10 years. I am sure of it,” he added,” he said.

Zelensky insisted that such measures wouldn’t threaten democracy and wouldn’t turn Ukraine into an authoritarian state. “An authoritarian state would lose to Russia. People know what they are fighting for,” he said.

However, since the war started, Zelensky has prohibited military-age males from leaving Ukraine, banned 11 opposition political parties, and nationalized the media. Hawks in the US often tout Ukraine as a “liberal democracy” worth defending, and President Biden has framed the conflict in Russia as a battle between “autocracy” and “democracy.”

A timeline provided from reporting by the New York Times suggests that pro-Ukrainian Azov neo-nazi militants entered Bucha after Russian troops left and after the Mayor of Bucha had announced the town’s liberation with no mention of any atrocities.

Another report asserts that Ukrainian national police posted on Facebook how they had conducted a “clearing operation” in Bucha before the alleged atrocities occurred accompanied by a video of their men walking around the town.

“Today, on 2 April, in the liberated city of Bucha, Kiev region, special units of the Ukrainian National Police began clearing the area of saboteurs and accomplices of Russian troops,” the Facebook post said.

As ever, with propaganda on both sides, it is virtually impossible to know what happened in Bucha, but to claim it’s an open and shut case of “war crimes” as the western media proclaims without any independent evidence is clearly ludicrous.

The United States treads on Beijing’s red line and continues its military supply policy in Taiwan. This is the third supply in three years. Thus, the Beijing government is on alert. In recent weeks, a delegation of former US officials led by Admiral Michael Glenn Mullen has arrived in Taipei. A clear sign of support for Taiwan that Beijing has described as “useless”. Now, China is contesting the US State Department’s decision to authorize the supply of military equipment to Taiwan for $ 95 million.

For Beijing, arms sales to Taipei “seriously undermine the nation’s sovereignty, interests and development”. If more lethal weapons were the answer, the conflict in Ukraine would have been resolved years ago, writes Ramzy Baroud. The country needs help finding non-violent solutions.

Much has been said and written about media bias and double standards in the West’s response to the Russia-Ukraine war, when compared with other wars and military conflicts across the world, especially in the Middle East and the Global South. Less obvious is how such hypocrisy is a reflection of a much larger phenomenon which governs the West’s relationship to war and conflict zones.

On March 19, Iraq commemorated the 19th anniversary of the U.S. invasion which killed, according to modest estimates, over a million Iraqis. The consequences of that war were equally devastating as it destabilized the entire Middle East region, leading to various civil and proxy wars. The Arab world is reeling under that horrific experience to this day.

Also, on March 19, the 11th anniversary of the NATO war on Libya was commemorated and followed, five days later, by the 23rd anniversary of the NATO war on Yugoslavia. Like every NATO-led war since the inception of the alliance in 1949, these wars resulted in widespread devastation and tragic death tolls.

None of these wars, starting with the NATO intervention in the Korean Peninsula in 1950, have stabilized any of the warring regions. Iraq is still as vulnerable to terrorism and outside military interventions and, in many ways, remains an occupied country. Libya is divided among various warring camps, and a return to civil war remains a real possibility.

Yet, enthusiasm for war remains high, as if over 70 years of failed military interventions have not taught any meaningful lessons. Daily, news headlines tell us that the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Germany, Spain or some other Western power have decided to ship a new kind of “lethal weapons” to Ukraine. Billions of dollars have already been allocated by Western countries to contribute to the war in Ukraine.

In contrast, very little has been done to offer platforms for diplomatic, non-violent solutions. A handful of countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia have offered mediation or insisted on a diplomatic solution to the war, arguing, as China’s foreign ministry reiterated on March 18, that “all sides need to jointly support Russia and Ukraine in having dialogue and negotiation that will produce results and lead to peace.”

A Communal Struggle

Though the violation of the sovereignty of any country is illegal under international law, and is a stark violation of the United Nations Charter, this does not mean that the only solution to violence is counter-violence. This cannot be truer in the case of Russia and Ukraine, as a state of civil war has existed in Eastern Ukraine for eight years, harvesting thousands of lives and depriving whole communities from any sense of peace or security. NATO’s weapons cannot possibly address the root causes of this communal struggle. On the contrary, they can only fuel it further.

If more weapons were the answer, the conflict would have been resolved years ago. According to the BBC, the U.S. has already allocated $2.7 billion to Ukraine over the last eight years, long before the current war. This massive arsenal included “anti-tank and anti-armor weapons … U.S. -made sniper (rifles), ammunition and accessories.”

The speed with which additional military aid has poured into Ukraine following the Russian military operations on Feb. 24 is unprecedented in modern history. This raises not only political or legal questions, but moral questions as well — the eagerness to fund war and the lack of enthusiasm to help countries rebuild.

Subpoena for Hunter Biden to Testify Before Congress Blocked by Democrats: GOP

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee blocked a Republican-backed subpoena to compel Hunter Biden to testify as a witness.

“Democrats just denied our motion to subpoena Hunter Biden,” the GOP members of the committee wrote on Twitter. “They refuse to hold Hunter accountable for his shady business dealings that make us more dependent on China for renewable energy. It’s past time for accountability.”

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) made a motion to subpoena President Joe Biden’s son as a witness at its hearing about making all U.S. Postal Service (USPS) vehicles electric.

“I just made a motion to subpoena Hunter Biden as a witness for the House Oversight and Reform Committee’s hearing on electrifying [the USPS],” Biggs wrote on Twitter. “Hunter sold a U.S. cobalt mine to a Chinese company. Cobalt is necessary for electric car production. Hunter’s expertise is invaluable!”

Last week, House Republicans on the Oversight and Reform Committee called him to testify, according to a letter issued by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), although Democrats on the committee blocked a motion to issue a subpoena.

It came as White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that Biden has “never spoken” with his son about “his overseas business dealings.”

Recent reports from the Washington Post and other news outlets belatedly verified emails and documents on a laptop that formerly belonged to Hunter Biden. Reports about the younger Biden’s laptop first surfaced in October 2020, with just days to go before the 2020 general election, although Big Tech firms quickly moved to suppress them.

A November 2021 report from the New York Times alleged that Hunter Biden was the part-owner of a venture involved in the $3.8 billion purchase by a Chinese company of one of the largest cobalt deposits in the world. Cobalt is a key component used in electric vehicles and other electronics.

“A lot of stories about Hunter Biden are surfacing this week. So to ensure the independence of the investigation, would the president support the appointment of a special counsel?” Fox News’ Peter Doocy also asked Psaki, who said that President Biden has never spoken to federal law enforcement officials or investigators about his son or other members of his family.

“Well first, the president has never had a conversation with the Department of Justice about any investigations into any member of his family,” Psaki said in response to his question. “He said that during the campaign and he will continue to abide by that. So I point you to the Department of Justice for any additional steps they would take.

The mysterious journey of the Ukrainian children lost between Huelva and the Canary Islands

The clues were more or less concrete. A group of between 30 and 40 Ukrainian minors, accompanied by three adults, would take a ferry from Huelva —or perhaps from Cádiz— to reach the Canary Islands. The promoter of the trip would be a Ukrainian woman residing in Fuerteventura. The information indicated that they would leave the Peninsula on Tuesday and land on the islands on Friday. The alert mobilized authorities in the Canary Islands, Madrid and Andalusia who, in turn, also activated the police. 5 Takeaways From The Newly Filed Motions In The Special Counsel’s Sussmann Case

1. From Sussmann’s Fingers to Baker’s Eyes

The first takeaway from Monday’s filings is a bombshell and comes on the second page of the special counsel’s 48-page motion in limine. That’s where Durham’s team excerpted a text message Sussmann sent to Baker’s personal cellphone:

Jim—it’s Michael Sussmann. I have something time-sensitive (and sensitive) I need to discuss. Do you have availability for a short meeting tomorrow? I’m coming on my own—not on behalf of a client or company—want to help the Bureau. Thanks.

This text message is explosive because it provides the most solid evidence to date that Sussmann represented to Baker that he was sharing the Alfa Bank data on his own and “not on behalf of a client or company.” Until now, the government’s case seemed to rest on Baker’s version of events and some handwritten notes taken by others after Baker relayed to them what Sussmann had said. (More on that below.) But now we know the special counsel’s office has documentation originating from Sussmann himself confirming the other evidence. That is huge.

Sussmann’s text to Baker proves significant for a second reason: It was not mentioned in the indictment, even though the 27-page speaking indictment included myriad minutia. The special counsel’s failure to reference the text message in the criminal indictment seems bizarre given it is the prosecution’s strongest evidence that Sussmann maintained he was not meeting with Baker on behalf of a client.

There’s likely a very logical reason for the omission, with one possible explanation that the special counsel’s office did not know of the text message at the time of Sussmann’s indictment.

Recall that in a discovery update filed with the court in late January, Durham’s office revealed that “in early January 2022, the Special Counsel’s Office learned for the first time that the [Office of Inspector General, or OIG] currently possesses two FBI cellphones of the former FBI General Counsel” Baker, along with “forensic reports analyzing those cellphones.” It may well be that the text message Sussmann sent Baker was preserved on one of those two cell phones and that Durham did not learn of its existence until January.

If so, that raises more questions about the OIG’s failure to provide Durham the cellphones earlier, or even alert the special counsel’s office to their existence when Durham’s team met with the inspector general and OIG personnel on October 7, 2021. That meeting was called “to discuss discoverable materials that may be in the OIG’s possession.” Why, then, did no one mention the phones? Was it because they knew Baker’s cell phone contained the damning text?
