Texas Governor Greg Abbott Announces He Will Use Charter Buses to Send Illegal Immigrants to Washington D.C

Texas Governor Greg Abbott will begin to use charter buses to ship illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C., as part of his strategy for the overwhelming influx of illegal immigrants.

Governor Abbott held a press conference today concerning Texas’ border security efforts in response to the Biden admin’s decision to drop Title 42 at the border on May 23.

Joe Biden announced that he plans to drop a Trump-era order blocking asylum seekers at the U.S. border on May 23.

Title 42 was used by President Trump in 2020 to expel migrants seeking asylum during the Covid pandemic.

According to Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin, Texas Governor Greg Abbott will begin using up to 900 charter buses to ship illegal immigrants to Washington D.C.

“To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration, Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants who have been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington, DC,” Governor Abbott announced in his press conference.

“We are sending them to the United States Capitol, where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” Gov. Abbott continued.

Gov. Abbott also announced to inspect vehicles as they cross the international points of entry into Texas effective immediately as part of his strategy to curtail the flow of drug cartel smuggling, immigrants, and drugs.

“Those two strategies are in addition to announcing the following actions to further deter illegal immigrants, including deploying boat blockades at appropriate regions in the Rio Grande River, deploying razor wire at low water crossings in high traffic areas, creating container blockades to drive people away from low water crossings,” Abbott added.

“Additionally, the National Guard will begin its first phase of mass migration rehearsals tomorrow to begin the preparation for what we are anticipating to be a potential mass influx of people coming across the border. All troopers and specially trained National Guard will be equipped with riot gear in case of potential caravan violence, like what we have all seen occur in Mexico as the caravans were making their way toward the United States,” Abbott continued.

Pentagon Foresees Very Protracted Ukraine Conflict To Be "At Least Measured In Years"

General Mark Milley, the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said before the House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday where he and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin were testifying on the defense budget, that he believes the Russia-Ukraine conflict will continue for years.

He described what the Pentagon sees as what's to be a "very protracted conflict" to come that's "at least measured in years." As we reported earlier, Gen. Milley further called Russia's military operation the "greatest threat to peace and security of Europe, perhaps the world in my 40 years of service and in uniform."

It's widely perceived that the thinking in Moscow was that its "special operation" in Ukraine might take a mere weeks or months - based on Russia's overwhelming firepower, aircraft, and technology at its disposal - but that Ukrainian resistance was fiercer and more significant than expected, likely causing Russia to now limit the scope of operations to taking Ukraine's eastern and southern regions.

Gen. Milley explained to Congressional leaders: "But I do think this is a very protracted conflict, and I think it’s at least measured in years. I don’t know about decade, but at least years, for sure."

"This is a very extended conflict that Russia has initiated, and I think that NATO, the United States, Ukraine and all of the allies and partners that are supporting Ukraine are going to be involved in this for quite some time," he added.

He further characterized the conflict as follows: "The Russian invasion of Ukraine is threatening to undermine not only European peace and stability but global peace and stability that my parents and a generation of Americans fought so hard to defend," Milley testified.

But the dangerous reality is that the longer this conflict endures, the greater the likelihood of it cascading into a direct Russia-NATO clash, which both sides have admitted would be recipe for World War 3, involving nuclear-armed powers.

Milley in his testimony nodded to this in his Tuesday words: "We are now facing two global powers: China and Russia, each with significant military capabilities both who intend to fundamentally change the rules-based current global order," he said, and added: "We are entering a world that is becoming more unstable. The potential for significant international conflict between great powers is increasing, not decreasing."

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has finalized its requirement for diversity-contribution statements from all faculty members for tenure and promotion.

As reported Friday by Inside Higher Ed, the new policy says that the departments’ evaluations of teaching, service and research and future potential “must, where appropriate, consider the candidate’s diversity, equity, and inclusion activities and their impact.” Few institutions of UIUC’s size, according to Inside Higher Ed, have considered requiring diversity statements—and, effectively, DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) —from all professors who hope to be tenured or promoted. The provost’s office describes the new DEI requirement as a one-page-maximum personal statement detailing “specific individual and/or collaborative activities aimed at supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as access.” Candidates should “include a discussion of the context, importance, and impact of their contributions along with their future plans for contributions. Somehow this case was assigned to a Bill Clinton appointed Judge Middlebrooks and Judge Ryon McCabe.

President Trump urged that the courts to replace the Clinton judge with someone who is not biased in the case.

Beijing Pledges ‘Firm, Forceful Measures’ Against $95 Million US Sale of Patriot Missiles to Taiwan

Since Russia began its special operation in Ukraine on February 24, American leaders have called for buttressing Taiwan’s defenses, claiming China could soon launch an invasion of the autonomous island. However, Beijing has said the two situations are not at all similar, as Taiwan is a part of China.

On Tuesday, the US State Department authorized the sale of $95 million worth of Patriot Air Defense System equipment to Taiwan.

“The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) has requested to buy Contractor Technical Assistance support consisting of training, planning, fielding, deployment, operation, maintenance, and sustainment of the Patriot Air Defense System, associated equipment, and logistics support elements; as well as Patriot Ground Support Equipment, spare parts, and consumables as required in support of Technical Assistance activities,” the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said in a notice to Congress.

TECRO is Taiwan’s liaison office in Washington, DC, which serves as an unofficial embassy due to the US’s recognition of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as the legitimate government of all of China, including Taiwan.

The MIM-104 Patriot air defense system comes in several versions, but is generally capable of shooting down aircraft and ballistic missiles within 100 miles. Each truck-mounted launcher carries four missiles and works in conjunction with several other launchers, a communications unit, a command and control center, and a powerful radar array.

Beijing has sharply condemned the sale, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian telling reporters on Wednesday that US actions “seriously undermine China’s sovereignty, security and development interests, and severely harm the China-US relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.”

Zhao called on the US to respect the agreements it made in the three Joint Communiques, especially the August 17 Communique, in which Washington agreed to end its military support for the government on Taiwan, which calls itself the Republic of China (RoC).

“China will take firm and forceful measures to resolutely safeguard its sovereignty and security interests,” the spokesperson added.

Ma Xiaoguang, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, which coordinates Beijing’s relations with Taipei, condemned the ruling Democratic Progressive Party for colluding with external forces to seek “independence” and political self interests, according to CGTN.

The RoC ruled all of China between the abdication of the last Chinese emperor in 1912 and the communist victory in the civil war in 1949, when the PRC was founded in Beijing. However, the Red Army was unable to cross the Taiwan Strait and conquer the island, so the republican government survived there. Both governments claim to be the legitimate Chinese government, but over the years, all but a handful of nations have switched their recognition from Taipei to Beijing, including the United States.

Despite this, the US continues to funnel support to Taiwan, including weapons, of which it has received billions of dollars worth in recent years as Chinese rhetoric about reunification has increased and the US has postured against China’s rising economic, political and military power as a threat to US dominance.

US political demand for further military aid has increased since February 24, with US politicians and commanders alike warning that China could use the crisis in Ukraine to launch their own operation to reclaim Taiwan. Beijing has condemned and denied these accusations.

Mara Karlin, US assistant secretary of defense for strategy, plans and capabilities, told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee last month that Taiwan should be made “as prickly as possible” to deter a Chinese attack. This included sending more anti-air missiles and anti-ship torpedoes, but also training Taiwanese forces in asymmetric warfare in order to launch an insurgency against Chinese forces.

Attorney General Garland, Commerce Secretary Raimondo test positive for COVID

Both cabinet members plan on isolating for at least five days.

Two members of President Joe Biden's cabinet, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, announced Wednesday that they have tested positive for COVID-19 after they both attended an event over the weekend.

Garland, 69, is not experiencing any symptoms, according to a Department of Justice press release.

He plans on isolating at home for "at least five days" where he will work virtually until he tests negative, the DOJ stated.

The 50-year-old Raimondo is experiencing "mild symptoms," and the Commerce Department press release said "she is confident that the vaccine has prevented her from experiencing more significant symptoms."

Raimondo's office is "conducting contact tracing" and she plans on working from home and returning to the office after isolating for five days, the department stated.

It is unclear where the cabinet members were exposed to COVID, but they both attended the Gridiron Dinner for journalists and politicians over the weekend, USA Today reported. Other guests at the event have also tested positive.

Hours before announcing his COVID diagnosis, Attorney General Garland attended a briefing with other top DOJ officials, the outlet stated.

The officials admitted to, and boasted about, releasing this misinformation.

When the American media cited US “intelligence” to warn that Russia was preparing to use chemical weapons in Ukraine, and when President Joe Biden repeated these warnings, they were participating in a disinformation campaign, the NBC report reveals.

According to the intelligence officials who came up with the warning, the intention was to discourage Russia from actually using these weapons, even though they themselves rated the intelligence used “low confidence.”

NBC quotes the officials involved in releasing such “low confidence” intelligence, who described their mission to misinform as part of an effort to “undermine Moscow’s propaganda and prevent Russia from defining how the war is perceived in the world.”

Some releases were accurate. For instance, the Biden administration insisted for weeks that Russian President Vladimir Putin intended to launch an assault on Ukraine.

Washington Free Beacon reports – President Joe Biden’s pick to serve on the Federal Election Commission is representing Stacey Abrams’s nonprofit and Raphael Warnock’s church in a lawsuit that challenged the validity of Georgia’s 2018 election due in part to the state’s use of “unreliable” electronic voting machines.

In November 2018, election lawyer Dara Lindenbaum signed on to a federal legal complaint on behalf of Abrams’s Fair Fight Action. The complaint challenged the constitutionality of Georgia’s 2018 election, which saw Abrams lose to Republican governor Brian Kemp in a race she never conceded. Warnock’s Ebenezer Baptist Church joined the suit in early 2019, just months before the Democrat entered Georgia’s 2020 Senate race.

According to the complaint, the state of Georgia “grossly mismanaged” the election by depriving “Georgia citizens, and particularly citizens of color, of their fundamental right to vote.” As a result, the complaint said, Georgia’s election “violated the First, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.” The complaint also lamented the use of “insecure and unreliable” electronic voting machines that “lack a paper trail” and thus “cannot be audited”—those machines even “switched” votes from Abrams to Kemp, according to the complaint.

While the lawsuit remains active, Fair Fight and other plaintiffs amended the complaint in December 2020 to remove many of its assertions detailing problematic voting machines. The move came after former president Donald Trump said voting machine irregularities led to his defeat against Biden.
