On Being Plagiarized.
Suddenly, Hunter Biden's hard drive is relevant again. But corporate media outlets refuse to credit our reporting from 2020.

Last week Glenn Kessler from the Washington Post called me. I missed the call. I telephoned him back. Washington, D.C. is a one-party consent state for recording such encounters. More on my insistence on that another time.
Kessler’s interest in The National Pulse was our scoop from Hunter Biden’s hard drive. Biden’s firm, Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners, was one of the largest investors in Metabiota, which was running biolab experiments out of Ukraine. It was all there, in black and white, on the “hard drive from hell.”
Kessler admitted to me he had seen the e-mails and our reporting, but enquired – in a Twitter Direct Message to my colleague Natalie Winters – if we were engaged in “an effort to launder Russian disinformation.”
Kessler’s DM to Natalie
Yes, you read that right. He admitted knowledge of the e-mails (and also did not claim anything in our reporting was inaccurate). But because the Kremlin also knew about this – and had shared some graphic alluding to it that morning –naturally the Washington Post’s allegation was that Mr. Putin got my cell number (presumably from Nigel Farage or another of those pesky “Russian agents”) and text me that morning before I dutifully put together a totally different story based on a similar premise.
In the minds of the Kessler’s of the world, this can be the only possible outcome. Though Glenn did DM Natalie again, after our call, explaining that he often “jump[s] to conclusions.”
A deeply reassuring character trait in the Washington Post’s “Fact Checker.”
Kessler, jumping sharks, and to conclusions.
But perhaps the most egregious part of the renewed Hunter Biden saga was the Daily Mail’s reporting outright plagiarism of the work of Natalie Winters published a day before their own.
Obviously, the hard drive is in a lot of hands now. But when the topic of Ukraine became a flashpoint at the beginning of this year, I began sifting through the information again. That’s when we found the new Metabiota links, and began piecing information together. For the record, we had already written about Hunter and Metabiota last June. At the time not even the conservative media nor the social media “influencers” or talking heads were willing to re-report or follow up on. It’s lonely out there for us.
Until it’s not.
Some admit our excellence.
And while some including POLITIFACT shudder are willing to assert how far ahead The National Pulse was, my work in attempting to get both the Daily Mail and Washington Post to appropriately credit us has fallen on deaf ears. Much like the original reporting we did from the drive.
Josh Boswell from the Mail refuses to respond. The Washington Post pretend they credit by mentioning, “some other folks reported on this already.” For the record, I wasn’t attempting to solicit a credit for the general CEFC reporting as Peter Wallsten tries to dance around, below. Much of that work was done by Emma Jo Morris at the NY Post (see, it’s not hard to credit!)
