I agree.
I think a factor with Sessions is that he may never have been confirmed unless the recusal was on the table.
I believe that's why Q asks about the tally of the confirmation votes.
So the acting as you describe wrt Sessions started from the get go. It may have been the only way Sessions could be placed in the job he has, and also allows him to work without taking the constant incoming fire that other Trump admin officials have.
My thinking is that if these factors were taken into consideration and agreed upon as a strategy, it must be very important to have Sessions in the position he is. IOW, having Sessions where he is worth the concessions that were made to get him there.
