>>16052976 Abolish the FBI or Face an American Putin

This a very indepth, well researched and excoriating description of the Eff Bee Eyewell worth the time yo read it

Abolish the FBI or Face an American Putin

Since J. Edgar Hoover founded it, the FBI has never really been a law enforcement agency. It’s a clearing house for kompromot and intimidation.

Following the death of Stalin, the Soviet secret police pivoted from heavy-handed mass arrests to a subtler, but still sinister, system of mass spying and accumulation of “kompromot,” or compromising material, on its citizens. The Soviets maintained control by prioritizing spying on religious figures, political activists, journalists, and public officials. We’re now finding out that the FBI in America has a similar program of mass surveillance of similar targets. And, as with the Soviets, much of the spying has nothing to do with investigating crime.

According to a Justice Department internal audit report, the FBI maintained an active caseload of 24,584 cases during the 18 months between January 2018 and June of 2019.A grossly disproportionate share of those cases involved surveillance of influential Americanssuch as candidates for office, public officials, journalists, religious leaders, and political activists. When the FBI targets an individual wielding high social influence, it categorizes the case as “sensitive.”

To prevent the FBI from abusing investigations to capture the levers of government and subverting democracy, the Justice Department has established rules. Most important among these rules is that the FBI isn’t supposed to start investigating a public official unless it has reason to suspect a crime. Nearly every “sensitive case” evidenced violations of the rules. In fact, the office of inspector general identified an average of two violations for every reviewed sensitive case.

Vladimir Putin, not unlike our current FBI Director Christopher Wray, got his start as a “reformer” known for mouthing reform slogans to parry public outrage over the many abuses of the national police organization. Like Putin, Wray has used the smokescreen of cosmetic reforms to amass great power at the expense of the democratic process he is supposed to protect. The FBI has proven over and over again to be totally immune to reform. It consistently fails to punish employees for violating the rules, so changing those rules has no effect.

The existence of the FBI has had no effect on the crime wave plaguing America. Contrary to the many dramatized depictions of the FBI, the Bureau solves an insignificant minority of crimes in America.

The FBI is more than a dysfunctional agency. If it merely failed to fulfill its mandate, it might be a tolerable nuisance. Instead, the FBI has proven to be the single greatest threat to the very Constitution it is supposed to serve and protect. Its domestic spying program and its network of unaccountable informants lead to few bonafide criminal cases but many wholesale violations of constitutional principles.

As we seek to create a bulwark for our nation’s cherished constitutional freedoms with a robust national defense, the FBI works as a totalitarian fifth column from within our nation. Below are five reasons why the FBI is beyond the reach of reform and should be abolished as a matter of civic integrity.

  1. The FBI interferes with elections and undermines elected officials.

  1. The FBI gathers dirt on powerful people—but not for prosecution.

  1. Rules governing FBI conduct are meaningless because they go unenforced.

  1. The politicization of the FBI blinds it to real crime.

  1. The FBI stages crimes to entrap halfwits into committing crimes.

  1. The FBI gathers dirt on powerful people—but not for prosecution.

Today’s FBI continues to gather what the Russians might call, “kompromat” on American politicians and influencers. More often than not, the dirt is held without immediately being used to prosecute these officials. When a prosecution does follow, it usually results from public pressure when the dirt comes to light through outside sources.

The most glaring example has to be the FBI’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. As reported in the Daily Beast, for 11 years the FBI failed to make an arrest as it sat on evidence of Epstein’s child-rape-for-money business. An inspector general report details how, in 2007, federal prosecutors cut a secret deal with Epstein resulting in shockingly light penalties. The report also states that, “the government’s lack of transparency and its inconsistent messages led to victims feeling confused and ill-treated by the government; gave victims and the public the misimpression that the government had colluded with Epstein’s counsel to keep the NPA secret from the victims; and undercut public confidence in the legitimacy of the resulting agreement.” Did the FBI use the Epstein files as kompromat to cultivate sources and influence powerful people? The poor treatment of the victims strongly suggests ulterior motives were at play on the part of the government.

To this date, the FBI has failed to prosecute any of the high-profile clients serviced by Epstein’s child-rape sex ring. The FBI is now believed to be in possession of Epstein’s treasure trove of blackmail material he kept on his rich and famous clients. Whatever the FBI is doing with this material, it’s not being used to prosecute criminal cases.

Hunter Biden’s laptop serves as another example. In December of 2019, the FBI seized Hunter’s laptop from the computer repair shop at which Hunter abandoned the item. The laptop contains a mountain of kompromat against the Biden family including evidence suggesting tax evasion, violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and bribery. The FBI could have arrested Hunter while there was still a chance for the Democrats to adjust to the scandal during their primaries. Only after Biden ascended to the presidency did legacy media reports of the investigation begin to turn the screws on the Biden family. As I pointed out here, it was obvious at the time of the election that the FBI planned to leverage the dirt against Biden for influence. It can fairly be said that the FBI now has more control over the president than the president has over the FBI.

After Attorney General William Barr discovered gross misconduct by the FBI in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation (aka Trump/Russia Collusion Hoax), he ordered a review of a sample of other investigations into politicians and influential people. The FBI is supposed to observe these safeguards to prevent it from using its power to gain control over elected officials and other influential figures in American life. These rules are intended to prevent the FBI from using dirt to blackmail influential people. It’s impossible to overstate the seriousness of the abuses this review revealed.

A recent Washington Examiner article shows that the OIG reviewed 353 “sensitive” cases subject to these special rules. These cases involved “less than half” the total number of such cases during the approximately 18 months that were under review. Although the report did not disclose the targets of these investigations, the article revealedthat, “191, involved domestic public officials. Dozens of cases involved religious organizations or their prominent members, and dozens of cases involved domestic political organizations and individuals. Ten cases involved domestic political candidates, and 11 cases involved news media.”

More recently, in the wake of the BLM 2020 summer riots over the George Floyd verdict, which caused over a billion dollars in property damage, dozens of murders, and touched off a murder epidemic that has not yet abated, the politicizedFBI has “assessed” white supremacists as the greatest law enforcement priority. Where are these white supremacist terror attacks? The FBI stands ready to pounce when and if these politically designed adversaries can ever be coaxed to commit the crimes the FBI hopes they will.

  1. The FBI stages crimes to entrap halfwits into committing crimes.

In his book, The Terror Factory, Author Trevor Aaronson cataloged hundreds of FBI terror investigations. He concluded that the FBI staged the vast majority of the post-September 11 terror-related cases leading to convictions. When catching real terrorists proved too difficult, the FBI instead paid informants to scour mosques for gullible targets. The informants would then charm the targets, plying them with money, flattery, friendship, and sometimes sex, in order to slowly radicalize the subject into committing an act of terror. When the target finally fell under the informant’s spell, the FBI would supply all the components necessary to carry out a terror plot: money, weapons, fake bombs, and even co-conspirators.

Now that the FBI has shifted its focus to “white nationalists” and “white domestic terrorists,” it has applied the same tactics to create new terror plots to fit its message. The Gretchen Whitmer Michigan kidnapping plot mentioned above follows exactly the same recipe the FBI used in the early 2000s to manufacture cases against Muslims. Just as before, the FBI used informants to influence, plan, and fund a kidnapping conspiracy. The jury saw through the FBI’s contrivance in the Michigan case. It refused to convict two of the defendants and outright exonerated the remaining defendants. It’s heartening to see ordinary citizens stand up to the FBI steamroller.

We’re still learning more about the FBI’s role in the January 6 incident at the Capitol. Reporting confirmed the presence of FBI informants within the crowd that entered the Capitol. Another man, a suspected FBI informant, organized and encouraged the breach. Another similar claim regarding a different FBI informant was made here. According to the New York Times, one informant actually “took part in the sacking of the Capitol,” suggesting an FBI informant actually damaged property to escalate the situation. Either the FBI is an incompetent law enforcement agency, incapable of responding to its own sources warning it of an ongoing crime, or the FBI staged a January 6 operation not unlike the Michigan kidnapping plot.

Almost all countries, even North Korea, have elections. But when a shadowy, unelected national police force wields real power, the elections are merely ceremonial exercises. Truman wrote of the FBI, “We want no Gestapo or Secret Police. F.B.I. is tending in that direction. They are dabbling in sex life scandles [sic] and plain blackmail when they should be catching criminals. They also have a habit of sneering at local law enforcement officers,” adding, “Edgar Hoover would give his right eye to take over, and all congressmen and senators are afraid of him.”

Since J. Edgar Hoover founded it, the FBI has never really been a law enforcement agency. It’s a clearing house for kompromot and intimidation. Indeed, it so often bungles the few bonafide law enforcement operations it runs. The FBI’s chief competence is rapidly growing its size and power. Soon nothing left will be capable of restraining its abuses. There’s no reforming this monster. It needs to be scrapped before it’s too late.

Judge Jackson’s Brown Out and Justice Thomas’ Transfiguration

The difference between the two judges is the difference between nihilism and natural law.

Observers of the Supreme Court should ask themselves what’s the more preposterous mainstream media mindmeld: whether Justice Clarence Thomas should recuse himself or resign over his wife’s political activism, or the legal brilliance of the Supreme Court Justice-to-be, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Truth be told, what we have here is the myrmidon media’s mockery of the most brilliant Supreme Court justice ever, one they have derisively dismissed as a lawn jockey of the Right, a lackey of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, someone who will be tutored on race by future Justice Jackson, and now a pawn or puppet of his wife. The actual contrast between the two judges could hardly be greater. Of course, neither justice should be held completely responsible for the allies he attracts.

Lower court ethical standards do not properly apply to the Supreme Court, and the public should expect and accept the political involvement of the justices along with the rest of Washington. After all, Supreme Court justices have often been selected from political backgrounds: Democratic Senator (and former Klansman) Hugo Black, former FDR presidential adviser Felix Frankfurter, and former California Governor (and Republican vice-presidential candidate) Earl Warren, just to name the more notorious. Nor should anyone be so naïve (or dishonest) as to believe these lauded justices cut their political ties once they ascended to the Court. It is easy to see why one’s political views (never mind those of a spouse) have never been the basis for a justice recusing himself. Otherwise, justices might be impeached based on their politically active friends, church attendance, internet browsing, book clubs, or newspaper subscriptions.

Since the 1980s, Republicans have drawn their Supreme Court appointments from the appellate courts, and the Democrats have followed suit, though their ideological fervor would make them open to a broader range of possibilities. The growing emphasis on appellate court experience is a sign of unfortunate emphasis on specialization in public service that favors insulated judges over the common sense of political life and favors the enhancement of the judiciary as a separate part of American life. The law schools specialize in teaching exotic progressive theories which flatter the despotic method in American politics, a mindset that favors Democrats, always better at ruthlessness than their couth opponents.

Like their titular, now politically incorrect founder Thomas Jefferson, today’s Democratic Party wants to destroy its opposition, making it the “party to end all parties.” Otherwise, they argue, democracy is at risk from enemies at home and abroad. Prior to the Civil War, Stephen Douglas argued that the new Republican Party was a threat to the Constitution and the rights of Americans. And Chief Justice Roger Taney pontificated that legal containment of slavery (the core belief of the new party), violated basic rights of due process guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment of the Constituion….

This ultimate sharing of views on the Left and the Right was evident earlier in the 1987 confirmation hearing of Judge Bork and the 1991 hearings for Clarence Thomas. Washington Post reporter, Aaron Blake, recalled the role the Declaration and natural rights played in earlier confirmation hearings. This included the Bork and Thomas Senate Judiciary Committee hearings, where chairman Joe Biden condemned Bork for attacking natural law and Thomas for espousing what he views as the wrong version of natural law. In his recent biographical film, “Created Equal,” Thomas had a tart recollection of Biden’s disgraceful performance, which must be viewed to be savored. Now this recent comment of Thomas’ may well have motivated all this recent hive brouhaha by Thomas’s leftist opponents, who are reemerging like Hollywood horror movie creatures. One never quite slams the door on them, in some part because the monsters reside in every human being.

It’s not clear that any justice other than Thomas, including the five other Republican appointees, differs from Judge Jackson’s view of the Declaration. Justice Kagan, based on her comments under questioning by the late Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), asserted that the Declaration was not relevant to her legal work.

So in the past several weeks what have we learned from the bizarre spectacle of a Judge, confirmed by the vote of all the Democrats and three Republicans, who has no particular regard for the Declaration, cannot recall what exactly was wrong with the Dred Scott decision, and can’t define a woman? And this is supposed to be our next, brilliant justice? In the meantime, the justice who knows exactly what this is all about is ridiculed and harangued. And the Thomas view seems not to have even one stout defender in the Senate. Our greatest living American deserves much better from the American Right.

The Declaration is not primarily about being nice to children or racial minorities, though some contemporaries would have you believe this. It is a document for serious Americans about limiting the power of government, of preventing tyranny, and encouraging free men and women to make intelligent choices for self-government, a government by consent of the governed.

Moreover,it makes revolution against an incorrigibly evil order a moral duty. It is the antidote to our contemporary obsession with the administrative state and to bureaucracies without end and without limits to their unchecked powers. Thomas has explained this many times, for over 40 years, including most recently at Notre Dame law school. This Declaration is not the one interpreted by Barack Obama, who disingenuously turned the document into a justification for unlimited political power, led by despised minorities, as he proposed in his second inaugural.

Regrettably, Justice Thomas may well be the only American political figure who honors the Declaration of Independence as its authors intended in his work. On this point, one can’t find people who are farther apart from one another than the Thomases and Judge Jackson.

US and UK conducting 'secret war' in Ukraine – Le Figaro

SAS and Delta Force part of “secret war”, a French intelligence source reportedly told Le Figaro

Elite special forces from the UK and the US have been present in Ukraine since the beginning of hostilities with Russia in late February, a source in the French intelligence community reportedly told a Le Figaro reporter, last week.

The claim was reported by the newspaper’s senior international correspondent Georges Malbrunot on Saturday, the day when British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made his surprise visit to Kiev. The British leader was reportedly surrounded by guards from the elite SAS force, though this claim was not officially confirmed.

SAS units “have been present in Ukraine since the beginning of the war, as did [sic] the American Deltas,” Malbrunot tweeted citing a French intelligence source. He added that according to the source Russia was well aware of the “secret war” waged against its troops by foreign commandos. Le Figaro included his report in their updates on Ukraine.

The UK and the US have been among the most active military supporters of Kiev. Johnson reportedly personally urged his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to keep on fighting against Russia and not settle for peace until better terms are offered.

Western pro-fighting consensus was apparently confirmed last week by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, who said on Saturday that the “war will be won on the battlefield” as he too was visiting Kiev.

British media earlier reported that dozens of “retired” SAS soldiers had gone or planned to go to Ukraine to contribute their expertise in reconnaissance and anti-tank warfare to Kiev’s cause. Their services were allegedly paid for by “a country in Europe, still to be named, via a private military company” rather than by the British government, according to the UK tabloid the Daily Mirror.

The Russian military reported action against what it described as “mercenaries” fighting for Ukraine on several occasions. One of the recent instances was on Saturday, just as Johnson and Borell were in Kiev.

The Russian defense ministry said Kiev attempted to use a civilian ship in its latest failed attempt to evacuate high-value personnel from the port city of Mariupol, which saw some of the most intensive fighting during the conflict. The individuals intended for evacuation were identified as leaders of the ultranationalist Azov battalion and foreign mercenaries. There are unconfirmed reports that hundreds of foreign nationals could be blocked in Mariupol along with several thousand Azov troops.

The US and the UK have publicly stated they had no plans to involve their troops in the fighting in Ukraine. Both are major suppliers of arms to Kiev and were training soldiers in Ukraine before the Russian offensive. The experts were reported pulled out of the country in the run-up to the hostilities.

Britain’s Defence Ministry banned active service members from traveling to Ukraine in early March, saying that violating the rule could result in prosecution. Kiev called on volunteers abroad to join the ranks of its newly-created “foreign legion” after the Russian attack.

Russia seeks to end US-dominated world order – Lavrov

Washington acts based on ad-hoc rules that violate international law, foreign minister claims

Russia's military action in Ukraine is meant to put an end to the US-dominated world order, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has explained. Washington has been seeking supremacy by imposing ad-hoc rules and violating international law, he claimed, in an interview aired by Russian television on Monday.

He was referring to America's attempts to impose its own so-called “rules-based international order,” which have met with strong resistance from Moscow and China.

“Our special military operation is meant to put an end to the unabashed expansion [of NATO] and the unabashed drive towards full domination by the US and its Western subjects on the world stage,” Lavrov told Rossiya 24 news channel.

“This domination is built on gross violations of international law and under some rules, which they are now hyping so much and which they make up on a case-by-case basis,” he added.

Russia is among the nations who would not submit to Washington’s will, the Russian diplomat added. It will only be part of an international community of equals and will not allow Western nations to ignore its legitimate security concerns, Lavrov said.

Lavrov blasted EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell for appearing to encourage more fighting in Ukraine. The bloc’s top diplomat said the conflict “will be won on the battlefield” as he announced more military aid to Kiev last Saturday. Lavrov called the statement “outrageous.”

“When a diplomatic chief … says a certain conflict can only be resolved through military action… Well, it must be something personal. He either misspoke or spoke without thinking, making a statement that nobody asked him to make. But it’s an outrageous remark,” Lavrov added.

The EU's role has shifted during the Ukraine security crisis, the minister believes. Previously it didn’t act as a military organization “fighting collectively against an invented threat.” Lavrov said the change was the result of pressure put on the bloc's members by Washington, which has pushed it closer to NATO.

For its part, Russia wants to negotiate peace with Ukraine, Lavrov added.

Top Neo-Nazi commander killed in Ukraine – Russia

Taras Bobanich, a senior figure in the Right Sector group, was killed by Russian commandos, the Russian defense ministry said

Kek they are showing his passport!

Russian commandos have killed a prominent member of Ukraine’s ultra-nationalist Right Sector group, the Russian defense ministry claimed on Monday. Taras Bobanich was accused by Moscow of causing hundreds of civilian deaths in eastern Ukraine during hostilities in 2014.

A Russian recon team killed the top Neo-Nazi while on patrol about 5km south from the city of Izium in Ukraine’s Kharkov region, the ministry statement explained. It said he was a deputy commander of the Right Sector responsible for reserve operations.

The ministry didn’t disclose the circumstances of Bobanich’s death. The Right Sector’s social media reported that he was killed on Friday near Izium, calling him a “legendary nationalist”.

The 33-year-old, whose nickname was “Hummer”, came originally from western Ukraine. He rose to national prominence during the mass protests and armed coup of 2013-2014, during which Western-backed Ukrainian nationalists served as a street fighting force against law enforcement.

The coup ended with the toppling of Ukraine’s democratically elected president and a rebellion in the east of the country, which the new authorities in Kiev tried to quash with military force. The nationalists formed so-called “volunteer battalions” to participate in the fighting.

According to Russia, Bobanich had personally ordered the indiscriminate artillery shelling of cities in eastern Ukraine during the hostilities, which allegedly resulted in hundreds of deaths.

In addition to serving as a nationalist military commander, Bobanich played a prominent role in the blockade of trade between Ukraine and Crimea in the autumn 2015. The blockade was organized by nationalist forces who wanted to punish people living on the peninsula for breaking away from Ukraine a year prior and voting to rejoin Russia.

Timeline for new NATO expansion revealed – media

Finland and Sweden could join the US-led military bloc in a matter of months, sources tell The Times

Finland and Sweden could join NATO as early as this summer in response to Moscow’s ongoing military assault on Ukraine, according to a report from Britain's The Times newspaper, on Monday.

The Finnish application to join the bloc is expected to be submitted in June, with Sweden following suit shortly after that, unnamed US officials told the British newspaper.

The possible membership of the two Nordic nations was “a topic of conversation and multiple sessions” during the summit of NATO’s foreign ministers in Brussels last week, the sources said. Finland’s FM Pekka Haavisto and his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde were both present at the two-day talks.

Helsinki and Stockholm “would be real feathers in NATO’s cap as net contributors,” especially in terms of intelligence-gathering and air-force capabilities, according to a European diplomat who talked to the paper.

Russia, Finland and Sweden all have access to the Baltic Sea, with a shared Russian-Finnish land border spanning some 1,340km.

A senior US official claimed that the Russian offensive in Ukraine was “a massive strategic blunder for [Russia’s President Vladimir] Putin” as it made Helsinki and Stockholm question their policy of not joining any military alliances.

Moscow opposes the expansion of NATO, but the inclusion of Finland and Sweden in the bloc won’t become an existential threat to it, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told Sky News on Friday. But Russia would have to make its “Western flank more sophisticated in terms of ensuring our security” if such a move takes place, he said.

NATO is “tailored for confrontation and the main purpose for its existence is to confront our country,” Peskov said.

Finland must decide on its NATO bid “thoroughly but quickly,” Sanna Marin, the country’s prime minister, said earlier this month. “Russia is not the neighbor we thought it was,” she insisted.

“I don’t exclude NATO membership in any way,” her Swedish counterpart Magdalena Andersson pointed out in late March.

Both Helsinki and Stockholm have announced that they’re now carrying out reviews of their security policies. The Finnish review is expected to be completed by mid-April and the Swedish one by the end of May.

Finland’s foreign minister had earlier suggested that, if the country eventually decides to join the bloc, it could take the parliaments of the 30 NATO member states between four and 12 months to officially approve the bid.

However, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg insisted that “the very decision to welcome Finland to NATO can be made very quickly and then it is a formal process in the capitals or parliaments to ratify it.”

Don't Say G.. roomer?

The leftist freak out over protecting kids against sex offenders is deeply telling.

Raheem Kassam

Apr 7

“Gay, gay, gay. Gay gay gay, gay! Gay. GAY. GAAAAAAAYYY!”

That was, essentially, the thrust of New York Gayor Eric Adams’s gay speech in front of his gay podium in his gay city a few gays ago.

Damn, it feels good to be able to say “gay” again.

Not since school have I had such a gay old time! No, not that kind of time.

I mean those playground (gayground!?) days of calling everything you were uninterested in “gay”.

It had nothing to do with homosexuals, or homosexuality. We didn’t know any gay people when we were eight years old. We didn’t even know what gay was. And that’s the way it should’ve been.

Everything was happy and gay, until along came a groomer (alternate article title, right there). In fact, along came a lot of groomers. The real ‘g-word’ that your corporate overloads have told you not to say.

“Don’t say gay”? That was never in the ostensibly bloodcurdling Florida legislation in the first place. But “Don’t say groomer”? Well that’s plastered all over the media right now.

Yeah, nothing suspicious about this freak out at all.

KBJ.

The two topics – the Florida legislation, and the appointment of Ketanji Brown Jackson – are now inextricably linked. If history recalls this period accurately, it will reflect the urgent, protective screen being erected to shield the ruling class in the face of actual evidence of child grooming, abuse, and the related disdain and debasement of life.

Walls work, they now hope.

And this is hardly speculative stuff, let alone the ‘QAnon’-style “conspiracy,” as the media keeps trying to spin. There is plenty of evidence, from around the United States, of wildly inappropriate school materials targeting minors.

The question is not whether to take such things gravely seriously, but rather, to what extent are the upper echelons of so-called civil society aware of predators in their midst? How many more Epsteins, Polanskis, or Jimmy Savilles are there? And why are people being discouraged from finding out?

See, the counterpoint/allegation levelled at conservatives concerned with the mass sexual indoctrination of their young children is that it is “anti-LGBTQIA+++” to be bothered about it. This counterpoint, ironically, is the only rhetorical link being made between inappropriate child sex education and homosexuality. In reality, parents don’t want any graphic sex education (straight or gay) aimed at their young kids.

Proponents of putting pictures of penises in front of children further allege this is some kind of Victorian notion. Actually, it was the opening scene of the 2008, New York-based romantic comedy Definitely, Maybe.

Parent: “Will, did you know there was gonna be a sex ed class today?”

Will (Ryan Reynolds): “Aren't they kind of young?”

Parent: “Yeah! It was a total disaster.”

The kids in that Manhattan public school were 10-years-old. The pro-groomer position on this current public debate involves children under the age of nine. In other words, Governor DeSantis’s position in Florida is actually more leftist than Hollywood’s depiction of parents in Manhattan in 2008.

Has anything besides the emboldened perversions of “progressives” changed, since then? Any data to show it creates more stable or adjusted grown-ups if teachers are sexually intervening with them from single-digit ages? Of course not. Because that’s not the end goal here. So what is?…

Russian nuclear workers freed in Ukraine

Four Rosatom workers along with several service members have arrived in Russia following a prisoner swap

Rosatom, Russia’s state-owned nuclear company, has announced that four of its employees who had been held by the Ukrainian authorities since late February have been freed as part of a prisoner swap and returned to Russia.

On Sunday, Tatyana Moskalkova, Russia’s top human rights official, was the first one to announce the news of the prisoner swap, which took place on Saturday evening.

A corporate spokesperson told journalists that Rosatom “confirms [their] return and is grateful to all those who helped free our colleagues.” The representative also expressed hope that “after some rest and recuperation, they will return to their team.”

According to Rosatom, its four staff had been delivering cargo to the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant on February 23, and had since been held by Ukraine in the wake of Russia’s attack on the country.

Last Friday, Rosatom’s CEO, Alexey Likhachev, described the employees’ detention in Ukraine as “absolute lawlessness,” adding that the four had been delivering essential materials needed for the functioning of the Ukrainian power plant. Likhachev also emphasized that the situation set a “very bad precedent” and called for “peaceful atomic energy” to be treated “away from politics.”

New chemical plant blast reported in Donbass

Kiev and the breakaway Lugansk People’s Republic blamed the new incident on each other

A holding tank containing hazardous materials has been destroyed at a chemical plant in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) town of Rubezhnoye, both local and Kiev-appointed officials said on Saturday. The blast comes days after a similar incident occurred at the facility amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“Today, once again, a tank with nitric acid was blown up on the territory of the Zarya chemical plant in the town of Rubezhnoye, which resulted in a release of toxic substances into the environment,” the LPR’s militia said in a statement, accusing Ukrainian nationalist units of using “terrorist tactics” against the civilian population and destroying infrastructure.

The incident has been confirmed by the Kiev-appointed governor of Lugansk, Sergey Gaidai. However, he blamed the blast on artillery shelling by the “orcs” – a derogatory term commonly used in Ukraine to describe forces of the Donbass republics and the Russian military.

“Nitric acid is dangerous if inhaled, swallowed and in contact with skin and mucous membranes. Acid fumes are irritating to the respiratory tract,” Gaidai said in a Facebook post.

Footage circulating online shows a large plume of pinkish vapor emerging from the site after the blast.

The new release of nitric acid at the Zarya plant comes days after a similar incident at the facility. On Tuesday, another tank also apparently containing nitric acid exploded at the plant, sending a large toxic plume into the air. The LPR and Ukraine also blamed that incident on one another, while both sides warned of the potential impact on the local population. It was not immediately clear, however, whether anyone was harmed by either incident.

Ukraine cuts trade ties with Russia

The import ban is now official, though the exchange of goods has been virtually non-existent since February

Ukraine has officially banned all imports from Russia due to Moscow’s military operation on its soil, Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced on Saturday.

“Today we officially announce a complete termination of trade in goods with the aggressor state. From now on, no Russian Federation’s products will be able to be imported into the territory of our state,” Svyrydenko wrote on Facebook, as cited by Reuters. She added that the step was taken to ensure that Russia does not use the money from mutual trade to fund the military operation.

Russia was one of Ukraine’s key trading partners before Moscow launched the operation to “demilitarize” the neighboring state in late February, with annual imports valued at roughly $6 billion. Although the exchange of goods and services between the two countries has become virtually non-existent over the past six weeks, Kiev had not officially cut trade ties with Moscow until Saturday’s announcement.

In her post, Svyrydenko urged other countries to follow suit and impose harsher economic sanctions on Moscow, despite the fact that around 30 states, including the US and most of the EU, have already bombarded Russia with multiple restrictions and bans. They have largely stopped short of an embargo on Russian energy imports for the time being, as many nations, especially within the EU, are highly dependent on Russian energy.

“Such a step of Ukraine can serve as an example for our Western partners and stimulate them to strengthen sanctions against Russia, including the implementation of the energy embargo and isolation of all Russian banks,” she said.

‘EU-supplied’ S-300 launchers obliterated – Russia

Slovakia reported delivering its only S-300 weapons system to Ukraine last week

It was very nice of Slovakia to tell Russia they were being forced into sending this equipment. Kek!

Russian forces have destroyed foreign-supplied S-300 anti-aircraft launchers in a number of precision strikes on Ukraine, the Defense Ministry, in Moscow, claimed on Monday. Days earlier, Slovakia reported the donation of a battery of old Soviet-made S-300 air defense missiles to Kiev.

In its regular briefing on the ongoing military action in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry reported hitting a hangar “on the southern outskirts of the city of Dnepropetrovsk,” where “equipment from an S-300 battery supplied to the Ukrainian regime by one of the European nations” was hidden.

The barrage of sea-launched Kalibr missiles destroyed four S-300 launchers and as many as 25 Ukrainian troops in the Sunday strike, ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov claimed. He used the old name of the city, which Ukrainian authorities renamed Dnepro in 2016 to distance it from the Soviet period of the country’s history.

The Russian official also reported destroying an S-300 targeting radar in a separate overnight precision airstrike near Uspenovka. The general didn’t specify which of the multiple villages of that name in Ukraine he was referring to, and didn’t say whether the radar was part of the battery supplied by the foreign nation.

Last Friday, Slovakia announced that it had donated its only S-300 battery to Ukraine. The weapon system was part of the NATO member’s legacy from the Warsaw Pact days, when it formed part of Czechoslovakia. It was not clear how many vehicles were sent to Ukraine. A regular S-300 battery can have as few as four and as many as 12 launchers using a single radar to identify targets, and is controlled by a single command post.

Prime Minister Eduard Heger assured citizens that the country’s national security would not be compromised since “allies” agreed to boost its air defense in return. US President Joe Biden said his country would provide an American Patriot missile battery as a replacement and thanked Bratislava for agreeing to give the S-300 to Kiev. Elements of the Patriot system started arriving in Slovakia three weeks ago, according to its defense minister.

Responding to Russian claims on Twitter, Prime Minister Heger called them a “hoax” and “Russian propaganda.” The statement was apparently based on a denial that Slovakia received from Kiev.

Washington reportedly wanted another NATO member, Turkey, to strike a similar deal with Ukraine and send it a Russian-supplied S-400, which is more advanced than the S-300. Ankara rejected the idea, saying the system would remain in its possession. In 2020, the US imposed sanctions on Turkey for buying the S-400s from Russia under a deal signed in 2017.

Another great article by Dr. Cleveland, she really is brilliant and a great writer. Lawfare tried to douse Durhams charges on Sussman, but they based it on Baker having to testify, butthe new text destroys all their glee and arrogance
