Has anyone else had the experience of having a parent who did a lot of classified stuff and while they can’t tell you about it- you start connecting the dots and realize if you’re even 10% right your parent did some insane stuff?

Like got a awards that don’t even say what they are for (very clearly like redacted) or literally get a reward and can’t even take it home because it’s that secret?

I didn’t realize how like not normal this was until I was older. And now im thinking about all the random things throughout my childhood and though I don’t know what it was exactly he was doing im like Image

But makes sense he knows how to shoot guns, fly a plane, fly a helicopter, scuba dive and skydive and more. And both my grandpas did a lot of secret stuff too (according to family lore) some stuff so crazy I don’t believe it.

It was the same path I wanted to go down prior to everything happening follow in their footsteps. Learn a couple languages, computer science, international affairs and then drop off the face of the earth and go work for the state dept ;)

Obviously not doing that now and I did want to follow in their footsteps I’d have to run, get elected and work on the intel committee or something.

It’s funny how many conspiracy theories there are because while it’s true my dad was a fed who did a lot of stuff a can’t talk about that’s it. We really are just kids and the fact you think we are so good we must be FBI or CIA or something is flattering, it’s false.

Trust me if we were we would be a lot more successful, I wouldn’t be talking about this and I certainly wouldn’t have so many spelling errors lol

But it has made it easier to figure out which of my classmates I will probably never see or hear from again after college because they are going to work for “the government” haha

I only talk about this at all because I literally know nothing about what he did so it doesn’t feel like a risk and he’s been retired for over 5 years

What you need to know about the case of former Tornado battalion servicemen

How the case unfolded

Following Hennadii Moskal’s request, on June 17, 2015 eight Tornado servicemen were detained, including the commander Ruslan Onyshchenko, who was in Dnipropetrovsk. The Minister of Interior, Arsen Avakov, signed an order on discontinuation of Tornado company the next day, on June 18, 2015. Tornado troops said their prosecution was caused by the conflict of their battalion commander Onyshchenko with the then-Head of Department of Interior in Luhansk region Anatolii Naumenko, who supposedly covered smuggling in the region. Another reason was military prosecutor Anatolii Matios’ personal distaste of volunteer battalions. On August 2, 2016, former Tornado troops threw faeces and urine at the attendees in the court room. At the same time, clashes occurred near the Obolonskyi court building.

Role of Hillary Clinton’s brother in Haiti gold mine raises eyebrows

A man walks with a horse close to the guardhouse of VCS Mining, which mines gold in Haiti and has raised controversy by naming Tony Rodham, brother of Hillary Rodham Clinton, to its board.

March 20, 2015

MORNE BOSSA, Haiti — Drive down the rutted dirt road a couple of miles to the guardhouse, then hike 15 minutes up to the overgrown hilltop, and there it is: a piece of 3 1/2 -inch-wide PVC pipe sticking out of the ground.

This is what, at least for the time being, a gold mine looks like.

It also has become a potentially problematic issue for Hillary Rodham Clinton as she considers a second presidential run, after it was revealed this month that in 2013, one of her brothers was added to the advisory board of the company that owns the mine.

Tony Rodham’s involvement with the mine, which has become a source of controversy in Haiti because of concern about potential environmental damage and the belief that the project will primarily benefit foreign investors, was first revealed in publicity about an upcoming book on the Clintons by author Peter Schweizer.

In interviews with The Washington Post, both Rodham and the chief executive of Delaware-based VCS Mining said they were introduced at a meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative — an offshoot of the Clinton Foundation that critics have long alleged invites a blurring of its charitable mission with the business interests of Bill and Hillary Clinton and their corporate donors.

Asked whether he attends CGI meetings to explore personal business opportunities, Rodham responded, “No, I go to see old friends. But you never know what can happen.”

All sides deny that the Clintons had any role in Rodham’s appointment to the VCS advisory board.

Rodham said he has not been involved in any other deals through connections made at CGI. He said that he has never spoken to his sister or her husband about the Haiti project and that he does not think VCS chief executive and president Angelo Viard, a Democratic donor, approached him because of his family ties. Rodham declined to say who introduced him to Viard; Viard said he could not remember.

“I’m a very accomplished person in my own right,” Rodham said. He said his work with the company is to try to find investors, which he said has been challenging because of a lack of interest in Haiti.

“I raise money for a lot of people,” he said. “That’s what I basically do.”

Rodham, a former repo man, prison guard and private detective, has long been a source of controversy for the Clintons. Among other things, he and his brother, Hugh, caused consternation in the Clinton White House in 1999 for trying to operate a hazelnut-processing business in the Republic of Georgia with political opponents of the Georgian president, who was a U.S. ally at the time.

Viard said that he paid to become a member of CGI so he could attend two of the organization’s meetings, and that he met Rodham at a gathering in 2012. (Foundation officials said Viard paid a $20,000 membership fee in 2013.)

“You try to be a member so you can meet people in the same industry,” Viard said. He said he attended CGI as “a pure marketing operation.”

He said he ultimately stopped attending CGI meetings after realizing that they were largely designed for charities to mingle with possible donors. He said he thinks commitments made at CGI have done a lot of good in the developing world.

>Role of Hillary Clinton’s brother in Haiti gold mine raises eyebrows

Rodham joined the board in October 2013, nine months after Hillary Clinton stepped down as secretary of state. Viard said he put Rodham on the board not because of his family connections, but because he worked for a firm, Gulf Coast Funds Management, that had access to investors.

Viard said that he and Rodham never discussed the Clintons, and that he never talked to the Clintons about Rodham. A spokesman for the Clinton Foundation said that Bill Clinton does not know Viard, and a spokesman for Hillary Clinton said she also does not know him.

In December 2012, VCS won one of the first two gold-mining permits the Haitian government had issued in more than 50 years. The project was immediately slammed by members of the Haitian Senate, who called it a potential environmental disaster and “a waste of resources.” The backlash caused the government to put the permits on hold.

Viard stressed that Rodham was not involved in the effort to win the permit from the Haitian government, which was granted months before Rodham joined the board.

He said Rodham was compensated with stock options that will not vest unless the project is a success. He said Rodham has not landed any investors, adding, “It sounds like people were not interested in Haiti.”

Rodham confirmed that he has received stock options in VCS and that they have not yet vested, saying, “Never seen ’em.”

“I’m just trying to help him out a little bit. If it ever accomplishes anything, great,” Rodham said of Viard, adding that the people of Haiti “got a bad deal” — saddled with poverty and then hit in 2010 by a devastating earthquake — and that he hoped the gold mine could help the country recover.

The Clintons have been longtime advocates for development in Haiti, especially since the earthquake. Bill Clinton, as the United Nations’ special envoy to the nation, and Hillary Clinton, as secretary of state, were primary forces in the emergency relief response and later efforts to create long-term development plans for the ravaged country.

But the Clintons’ image in Haiti has slipped in recent months as Haitians increasingly complain that Clinton-backed projects have often helped the country’s elite and international business investors more than they have helped poor Haitians.

Defenders of the Clintons call such criticism untrue and unfair and largely pressed by the Clintons’ political enemies. They argue that Clinton-funded programs have brought millions of dollars in investment to Haiti and have created jobs for thousands of Haitians.

But news that a Clinton family member is helping the mining company attract more foreign investors has deepened suspicion.

“Rodham is an independent guy, but this is tricky; it’s not a good sign for him to be on the board of a mining company here in Haiti,” said Leslie Voltaire, a former Haitian government official who worked closely with the Clintons after the earthquake. “The Clintons are seen as being in power here. You have to be very cautious that your family does not intervene in business here.”

Jean-Max Bellerive, a former prime minister and a potential presidential candidate in elections expected this year, joined the VCS advisory board at the same time as Rodham.

When the mine permit was suspended in early 2013, Bellerive said, Viard hired him for $8,000 to help him understand Haitian governmental procedures, as well as to introduce him to Haitian senators and advise him on how to persuade them to support the mine project.

Bellerive said that Viard offered compensation when he joined the advisory board a few months later, but that he refused it. He said he had mixed feelings about the project because he was worried about potential environmental damage and unsure whether the Haitian government was equipped to regulate such a complex enterprise.

He said he hoped that by joining the board, he would help ensure that the project was handled “responsibly.” But he said he has had “close to zero” involvement with it.

Bellerive said he was comfortable with his decision to join VCS, but thinks Rodham made a mistake.

“If I was Tony Rodham, I would not have been on the board,” he said. “He knows he did nothing illegal, but it has a high political price for his sister.”

At least three people were injured Tuesday morning in a gruesome incident in a Brooklyn subway station, officials said.

The bloody incident broke out around 8:30 a.m. at the 36th Street station for the D, N, R lines in Sunset Park.

Graphic photos showing blood-stained subway platform floors and injured people have emerged on social media at the station but it was still unclear what unfolded with unconfirmed reports of an explosion or a mass shooting.

The NYPD’s bomb squad is on the scene investigating.

A spokesman for the FDNY said multiple undetonated devices were found.

The suspect is believed to be dressed in some sort of construction garb, similar to an MTA worker, sources said.

Rachel Maddow going to once-a-week schedule on MSNBC

Rachel Maddow returned to her nightly MSNBC program Monday after being on hiatus since early February but announced that she’ll soon be going to a weekly schedule.

Starting May 2, “The Rachel Maddow Show” will be weekly on Monday nights.

Maddow took a break from the show to give herself a “reset” and to work on other MSNBC projects, including a movie version of her “Bag Man” podcast and book.

Reports of Maddow scaling back her schedule have been made ever since she signed a new multi-year deal with MSNBC and NBCUniversal, allowing her a broader range of projects.

The new contract keeps her at the company through 2024.

”I do still have all these other irons in the fire, all these other things I’m working on that I want to bring to fruition, none of them are fast, all of them take a long time, and I’m still working on all of them,” Maddow said on her program Monday.

She clarified that for bigger news events, such as the lead-up to the election, she plans to be in the anchor spot more than once a week.

“This might change….We will see how things go, but that is the plan as of now,” Maddow said.

Rotating hosts will fill in the 9 p.m. slot the rest of the week, and there are no immediate plans for a permanent replacement host, according to a network spokesperson. However, there have been reports of potential candidates for the anchor chair, including White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and a return of Keith Olbermann.

MSNBC will continue to call the time slot “The Rachel Maddow Show” during Maddow’s two-month hiatus, but the hour will be changed to “MSNBC Prime” on the nights Maddow is not hosting.

Since she’s been on hiatus, viewership for the hour has fallen compared to the same period last year, according to Deadline.

Maddow has anchored the 9 p.m. hour since September 2008 and has been MSNBC’s top-rated personality.

https://nypost.com/2022/04/11/whoopi-goldberg-to-be-absent-from-the-view-for-a-while/

Whoopi Goldberg to be absent from ‘The View’ for ‘a while,’ Joy Behar says

Whoopi Goldberg will be taking a break from her duties on “The View” in the coming days – an absence that co-panelist Joy Behar attributed to filming obligations for an acting gig.

Behar addressed Goldberg’s plans at the start of Monday’s broadcast of the daytime talk show, which featured former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin as a guest host alongside Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro.

“If you’re wondering where Whoopi is, the girl’s got a movie she’s making and she will be back when she finishes whatever she’s doing,” Behar said. “So she’s gone for a while.”

Behar didn’t provide further details about how long Goldberg would be absent from the show.

Goldberg, 66, is set to appear on the upcoming Amazon Studios project “Anansi Boys,” an adaptation of author Neil Gaiman’s novel. She will play “Bird Woman” – described as one of the show’s “key antagonists.”

An ABC representative said Goldberg is expected to be filming her part for the next few weeks – a period that includes “The View’s” hiatus during the week of April 18.

Goldberg was spotted at a restaurant in Scotland, where the show is currently being filmed.

“I have been a fan of this book for a very long time and when Neil Gaiman told me it was being brought to the screen, I did everything I could to be part of it to help make people aware of Anansi and all his magic,” Goldberg said in a statement on the role last week.

Goldberg’s absence follows a tumultuous period in her tenure on “The View.”

ABC suspended Goldberg from “The View” for two weeks earlier this year. The suspension came after Goldberg faced widespread condemnation for declaring during a segment that the Holocaust was “not about race.”

Goldberg later apologized.

“The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver [sic]. I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused,” she tweeted.

Despite the apology, a source told The Post that Goldberg was “livid” over the suspension – to the point that she threatened to leave the show entirely.
